The Las Vegas High School Historic District in Las Vegas, Nevada is a historic district which includes 11 buildings on the 15 acres (6.1 ha) campus of the school district. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2022.It includes the Las Vegas High School Academic Building, Gymnasium, and Frazier Hall, now the Las Vegas Academy of International Studies and Performing Arts. The academic building and gymnasium is an Art Deco building which was listed on the National Register in 1986, and which represents a subset of the Art Deco style known as "Aztec Moderne", in which Aztec design motifs were used in an overall Art Deco palette of forms and materials. The academic building and the gymnasium are two of the original 3 buildings that were built. The third was destroyed around 1950. The listing was expanded to include Frazier Hall in 2021. Described as the best example of Art Deco in Las Vegas, the school was designed by father-and-son architects George A. Ferris & Son of Reno, Nevada. The stucco-covered reinforced concrete buildings are decorated with a variety of polychrome medallions and friezes depicting animals and plants. The two-story academic building, measuring 208 by 82 feet (63 by 25 m), is part of a seven-building complex within the larger Las Vegas High School Neighborhood Historic District. The gymnasium is of complementary form and construction, measuring 113 by 83 feet (34 by 25 m). The gymnasium's entrance is rendered as a stylized Mayan arch. The Academic Building and Gymnasium are linked by the 1952 Humanities Building, which is not regarded as contributing to the historic character of the complex.The school became a magnet school for specialized studies in 1993. The Academic Building and Gymnasium were listed on the National Register of Historic Places on September 24, 1986. It was included as a contributing property in the National Register listing of the large Las Vegas High School Neighborhood Historic District in 1991. The academic building and gymnasium listing was enlarged in 2021 to include Frazier Hall. The entire campus was then listed on the National Register in 2022.

The Western Hotel and Casino was a hotel and casino in downtown Las Vegas, Nevada. The 8,925 sq ft (829.2 m2) casino was owned by the Barrick Gaming and operated by Navegante and The Tamares Group. The Western was the lowest rung of Jackie Gaughan's low-roller casino empire that included the Las Vegas Club, The Plaza, the Gold Spike and El Cortez.

The Las Vegas Academy of the Arts is a magnet high school located in Downtown Las Vegas, Nevada. Students are accepted through an audition process and claim a major pertaining to performing arts or visual arts.

Downtown Container Park is an outdoor shopping mall and entertainment complex located in downtown Las Vegas, Nevada. The tenants are housed in metal cubes and shipping containers. The project was conceived by Tony Hsieh and his Downtown Project, a group dedicated to revitalizing the downtown area. Construction began in 2012, and the project opened on November 25, 2013, with 34 tenants. The mall includes 43 shipping containers and 41 cubes.

Atomic Liquors is a bar in Las Vegas, Nevada. Opened in 1952, it became the first business in Las Vegas to be given a tavern license to sell liquor and operate an onsite bar.

Las Vegas High School Neighborhood Historic District, is a historic district which was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991. The Las Vegas High School Academic Building and Gymnasium, already listed on the National Register in 1986, is included as a contributing property within the district. That property was later expanded to include Fraser Hall in 2021 and to include the entire 15 acres (6.1 ha) campus of the Las Vegas High School in 2022. When nominated, the area included 236 properties of which 4 were listed on the National Register of Historic Places and a total of 150 properties were contributing properties.

The Writer's Block is an independent bookseller, publisher, and literacy educator in downtown Las Vegas. The Writer's Block was established in 2014 by 826NYC co-founder Scott Seeley and Drew Cohen. It was opened with former BSSco. store manager and Archway Editions publisher Chris Molnar. It is the first independent bookstore in Las Vegas, and second in the state of Nevada.Behind the bookstore front at the original Fremont St. location was the literacy education component of the Writer's Block, known as Codex. Similar in layout to the educational area behind 826NYC's Superhero Supply Store, Codex also featured movable walls, tables and desks. It was used for free writing workshops for children ages 5-18, in addition to readings, signings, and ongoing series such as Neon Lit, the monthly reading by MFA and PHD writing students at UNLV.In 2019, the Writer's Block relocated to the Lucy, a new art center in downtown Las Vegas.

Andre's was a Michelin-starred French restaurant in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. It was helmed by Andre Rochat, a French-born chef who previously worked in Boston and New Orleans, among other locations. He opened Andre's on 6th Street in 1980. At the time, there were few fine dining options on the Las Vegas strip; food was focused on buffets and a few steakhouses catering to corporate clients. Andre's brought traditional Escoffier-style French food with tableside service. The restaurant received a Michelin star in 2008 and 2009, the only years in which Michelin rated restaurants in the area. The restaurant closed in 2009.

El Cortez, a hotel and casino, is a relatively small downtown Las Vegas gaming venue a block from the Fremont Street Experience and Las Vegas Boulevard. Slots, table games, and a race and sports book occupy one floor of the main pavilion, at this historic casino. It opened on Fremont Street on November 7, 1941, and is one of the oldest casino-hotel properties in Las Vegas, along with the nearby Golden Gate Hotel and Casino. Primarily Spanish Colonial Revival in style, it reflects a 1952 remodel when the façade was modernized. On February 22, 2013, the structure was placed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Wee Kirk o' the Heather was a wedding chapel in Las Vegas, Nevada. It opened in 1940, making it the first wedding chapel in Las Vegas.It was parodied as the Wee Kirk Of Auld Lang Syne in Evelyn Waugh's The Loved One. It is mentioned in Thomas Pynchon's 2009 novel Inherent Vice (pg. 246). The chapel was demolished October 3, 2020.

The Alpine Motel Apartments fire occurred in downtown Las Vegas, Nevada, on December 21, 2019. The three-story building, constructed in 1972, had failed several fire inspections and received numerous code enforcement complaints in the years prior to the fire. Some residents did not have working heaters and were using their kitchen stoves for warmth, which led to the fire. It killed six residents and injured 13 others. It is the deadliest fire to occur in Las Vegas city limits. Adolfo Orozco purchased the building in 2013, and criminal charges were filed against him and an associate in July 2020, accusing them of involuntary manslaughter and negligence. A preliminary hearing began in August 2020, and continued into the following year because of delays. Various civil lawsuits were also filed against Orozco. The city increased its inspections of older apartment buildings following the fire. In 2021, the Alpine was sold to a partnership of companies which plan to reopen it by 2023, as studio apartments under the name DLUX Lofts.

The United States District Court for the District of Nevada (in case citations, D. Nev.) is the federal district court whose jurisdiction is the state of Nevada. The court has locations in Las Vegas and Reno. Cases from the District of Nevada are appealed to the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit (except for patent claims and claims against the U.S. government under the Tucker Act, which are appealed to the Federal Circuit). The United States Attorney's Office for the District of Nevada represents the United States in civil and criminal litigation in the court. As of May 11, 2022, the United States Attorney is Jason Frierson.
