Veale Gardens is part of the Adelaide Parklands throughout and surrounding the City of Adelaide. It is located in the South Parklands surrounded by Greenhill and Peacock Roads, South Terrace, and Sir Lewis Cohen Avenue. The gardens can be entered by entrances on South Terrace. Veale Gardens is named after William Charles Douglas Veale, who was Adelaide's Town Clerk from January 1947 to November 1965, and close friend of mayor A. C. Rymill.

Annesley Junior School, formerly known as Methodist Ladies' College and Annesley College, is an independent day school for girls and boys aged from two years old to year 6, located in Wayville, a suburb of Adelaide, South Australia. It has a co-educational early learning centre for children between the ages of two and five, and a primary school for reception to year 6. It is affiliated with the Association of Independent Schools of South Australia, and the Junior School Heads Association of Australia (JSHAA).Founded as Methodist Ladies' College in 1902 and later changing its name to Annesley College, it used to be a girls' school catering for students from Reception to Year 12. Annesley has been an International Baccalaureate World School since December 2005.

The Adelaide Film Festival (AFF, formerly ADLFF) is an international film festival usually held for two weeks in mid-October in cinemas in Adelaide, South Australia. Originally presented biennially in March from 2003, since 2013 AFF has been held in October. Subject to funding, the festival stages full or briefer events in alternating years; some form of event has taken place every year since 2015. It has a strong focus on local South Australian and Australian produced content, with the Adelaide Film Festival Investment Fund (AFFIF) established to fund investment in Australian films. Established in 2003, it was listed in Variety's "50 Unmissable Film Festivals" in 2007. The 2020 Festival was scheduled to take place from 14 to 25 October, but owing to its high attendance figures and success, the season was extended for an extra five days.

Gilbert Street is a main street in the CBD of the centre of Adelaide, South Australia. The street was named after Thomas Gilbert, a pioneer settler who held the (then) important administrative position of Colonial Storekeeper, responsible for all Government stores.

5MBS is a community radio station based in Adelaide, Australia and located in Hindmarsh, South Australia. It broadcasts on 99.9 MHz across much of the Adelaide metropolitan area, as well as a live stream via its website. 5MBS is run by volunteers, with no paid staff and is funded by contributions made by its listeners. Similar to its sister stations 4MBS in Brisbane, 2MBS in Sydney and 3MBS in Melbourne, 5MBS broadcasts a mixture of classical music and jazz, as well as supporting Adelaide's local arts community.

Christie Walk is a model ecological cohousing development in central Adelaide, Australia. It consists of 27 dwellings on a 2,000 square metres site. It was designed by local architect Paul Downton and completed in 2006. Its innovative aspects include energy- and water-saving measures, use of ethical finance and use of recycled non-toxic materials.

The City of Adelaide, also known as the Corporation of the City of Adelaide and Adelaide City Council is a local government area in the metropolitan area of greater Adelaide, South Australia and is legally defined as the capital city of South Australia by the City of Adelaide Act 1998. It includes the Adelaide city centre, North Adelaide, and the Adelaide Park Lands, which surround North Adelaide and the city centre. Established in 1840, the City of Adelaide Municipal Corporation was the first municipal authority in Australia. At its time of establishment, Adelaide's (and Australia's) first mayor, James Hurtle Fisher, was elected. From 1919 onwards, the municipality has had a Lord Mayor, as of 2021 being Sandy Verschoor, who replaced Martin Haese in 2018.

Central District was an electoral district for the Legislative Council of South Australia from 1882 until 1912. Prior to the passing of the Constitution Act Further Amendment Act 1881, the Legislative Council had been 18 members elected by people from across the entire Province. At its creation in 1882, the Central District consisted of six electoral districts for the South Australian House of Assembly - East Adelaide, West Adelaide, North Adelaide, West Torrens, Sturt, Port Adelaide. It covered the area of the City of Adelaide and the surrounding areas on the south, west and northwest.

Pulteney Grammar School is an independent, Anglican, co-educational, private day school. Founded in 1847 by members of the Anglican Church, it is the second oldest independent school in South Australia. Its campuses are located on South Terrace in Adelaide, South Australia.

The Appleton Institute is a multidisciplinary research hub residing within the Adelaide campus of CQUniversity Australia, located south of the Adelaide CBD, in Wayville, South Australia. Formerly the Centre for Sleep Research, the Appleton Institute was established as part of CQUniversity in January 2012. The institute is overseen by Professor Drew Dawson, an expert in fatigue and human factors, and was named after the late Dr. Arthur Appleton, the first Vice-Chancellor of CQUniversity, who had strong ties to South Australia.The Appleton Institute was formed from the research group Professor Dawson first established at the University of Adelaide in 1992. Since then, it has grown to become the largest behavioural sleep and fatigue research groups in Australia and has broadened its expertise to include safety science, human factors and safety management, applied psychology, human-animal interaction and cultural anthropology. In 2013, a brand new sleep laboratory was opened with 6 bedrooms and time-isolation capabilities, allowing data to be collected on sleep, fatigue and performance.

Whitmore Square, also known as Iparrityi (formerly Ivaritji), is one of five public squares in the Adelaide city centre, South Australia. Occupying 2.4ha (24,000 m2), it is located at the junction of Sturt and Morphett Streets in the south-western quarter of the Adelaide city grid. It is one of six squares designed by the founder of Adelaide, Colonel William Light, who was Surveyor-General at the time, in his 1837 plan of the City of Adelaide which spanned the River Torrens Valley, comprising the city centre (South Adelaide) and North Adelaide. The square was named in 1837 by the Street Naming Committee after William Wolryche-Whitmore, a British politician who had introduced the South Australia Act 1834 to the British House of Commons. In 2003, as part of the dual naming initiative of the Adelaide City Council, a second name, Ivaritji (later corrected to Iparrityi), was assigned in the Kaurna language of the original inhabitants. Iparrityi (c.1847—1929), also known as Amelia Taylor, was the last full-blood Kaurna person and last speaker of the Kaurna language.

Wayville is an inner-southern suburb of Adelaide in the City of Unley. It is most notable for hosting of the Royal Adelaide Show at the Adelaide Showgrounds. The suburb is bordered to the north by Adelaide's South Parklands, to the west by Adelaide-Goodwood railway line, to the east by King William Road, and to the south by Leader Street, Parsons Street and Simpson Parade. Keswick Creek, a tributary of the Brown Hill Creek and Patawalonga River, flows through the southern side of the suburb.
