Clarendon railway station

Clarendon is a suburb of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Clarendon railway station is on the Richmond branch of the North Shore & Western Line of the Sydney Trains network. It is also home to Hawkesbury Racecourse and the Hawkesbury Show Ground. It borders the RAAF Base Richmond, a Royal Australian Air Force base at Richmond which was established in 1923. The air base is currently the home to the RAAF's transport squadrons. During the Vietnam War logistic support and medical evacuations were supplied by the Hercules from RAAF Richmond.

RAAF Base Richmond (IATA: XRH, ICAO: YSRI) is a Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) military air base located within the City of Hawkesbury, approximately 50 kilometres (31 mi) North-West of the Sydney Central Business District in New South Wales, Australia. Situated between the towns of Windsor and Richmond, the base is the oldest base in New South Wales and the second oldest in Australia.: ii–iii  The base is home to the transport headquarters RAAF Air Lift Group, and its major operational formations, Nos. 84 and 86 Wings. The main aircraft type operated at the base is the Lockheed C-130 Hercules. Richmond is a regular venue for air shows and had at times been mooted as a site for Sydney's proposed second international airport. Sited on a piece of land originally known as Ham Common, Richmond became an RAAF base in 1925. Its inaugural commander was Flight Lieutenant (later Squadron Leader) Frank Lukis, who also led the base's first flying unit, No. 3 Squadron. Many other squadrons were formed at Richmond in the ensuing years, as well as a separate Station Headquarters and No. 2 Aircraft Depot in 1936. The base expanded further during World War II, with more squadrons and other units being established there, including No. 1 (Fighter) Wing and No. 3 RAAF Hospital. It was not until after the war that it became the RAAF's transport hub, with the arrival of No. 86 Wing and its complement of C-47 Dakotas. The base began operating the Hercules in 1958, augmented in later years by the DHC-4 Caribou and Boeing 707.

Claremont Cottage is a heritage-listed residence at Claremont Crescent, Windsor, City of Hawkesbury, New South Wales, Australia. It was built from 1807 to 1822. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 2 April 1999.

South Windsor is a suburb of the town of Windsor, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. It is generally bounded in the west by Rickabys Creek and in the east by South Creek, both tributaries of the Hawkesbury River. It was designed by Francis Greenway and built from 1817 by convict labour. The property is owned by the Anglican Church Property Trust. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 2 April 1999.

McQuade Park is a heritage-listed park and sporting venue at 361 George Street, Windsor, City of Hawkesbury, New South Wales, Australia. The park was set aside by Governor Lachlan Macquarie in 1810, first surveyed by James Meehan in 1811, and re-surveyed and significantly expanded by G. B. White in 1827. It is also known as The Great Square, Church Green and Windsor Park. The property is owned by Hawkesbury City Council. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 14 January 2011.

Bede Polding College is an independent Roman Catholic co-educational secondary day school, located in South Windsor, on the north-western outskirts of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. The school delivers a religious and secular education to approximately 1,200 students from Year 7 to Year 12. The school is administered by the Catholic Education Office of the Diocese of Parramatta and serves the greater Hawkesbury region and the parishes of St Matthew's, Windsor and Richmond. The school opened in 1986 with 110 pupils and a staff of nine. The school's patron is John Bede Polding, the inaugural Catholic bishop of Sydney in the Colony of New South Wales. The college was subject to a devastating fire in late 2003 that resulted in extensive damage to the administration building and teacher study areas.

Peter Turner Cottage and Oxalis Cottage. The property is owned by Hawkesbury City Council. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 2 April 1999.

St Matthew's Catholic Church, Windsor is a Roman Catholic church building located at Tebbutt and Little Church Streets, Windsor, City of Hawkesbury, New South Wales, Australia. it is the church of St Matthew's parish (founded in 1832), which is the oldest parish in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Parramatta and one of the oldest Roman Catholic parishes in Australia.St Matthew's is the oldest Roman Catholic church in continual use (since 1840) in mainland Australia, and is an early example of a stripped-down Gothic revival style. It was designed by architect Thomas Bird, who arrived in Sydney from England in January 1835.
