Brunswick (Brittonkill) Central School District

Clums Corners is a hamlet in the town of Brunswick in Rensselaer County, New York, United States. It is located at the intersection of New York Route 2 (Brunswick Road), New York Route 278 (Brick Church Road), and Tamarac Road (County Route 129). Tamarac Secondary and Elementary Schools are located nearby. The site is so named for the Clum family—specifically James Clum and later his son Orlin—who ran a blacksmith shop during the late 19th century and early 20th century.The area was serviced by the Little Red Schoolhouse—known officially as the Brunswick District No. 6 Schoolhouse—until it was closed in 1958, upon the consolidation of Brunswick (Brittonkill) Central School District and the opening of Tamarac School.The area was mostly farmland until the building of the school on the north side of Route 2 and then the strip mall Tamarac Plaza, the former King Fuel's gas station (now Cobble Pond), and the Rensselaer County Association for Retarded Children were built on the south side. Prior to this development, the area was known as Clum's Flats and was a popular place to race horses on Sunday afternoons.

The District #6 Schoolhouse, also known locally as the Little Red Schoolhouse located in Brunswick, New York, United States, is a one-room schoolhouse built c. 1830 or 1837 that was home to grades one through eight until the consolidation of Brunswick (Brittonkill) Central School District in 1952. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) on July 3, 2008 and a dedication ceremony for the accomplishment was held on June 12, 2009.The building, located on New York Route 278, is still owned by Brunswick Central School District. It is believed to be one of the oldest remaining schoolhouses in Rensselaer County.

Marsh–Link–Pollock Farm, also known as the Pollock Farm, is a historic home and farm located at Brunswick, Rensselaer County, New York. The farmhouse was built about 1840, and is a two-story, "L"-plan, Greek Revival style timber frame dwelling with a one-story rear ell. The original section was expanded in the 1920s to its present size. Also on the property are the contributing main barn, a small light-frame barn that was used for calves and a concrete block cow barn with a silo (c. 1959).: 3–5 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2014.

Brunswick is a town in Rensselaer County, New York, United States. The municipality was originally settled in the early 18th century. During its history, it had been part of Albany County, Rensselaerswyck, and Troy, before its incorporation in 1807. It is bordered on the west by the city of Troy; on the north by Schaghticoke and Pittstown; on the east by Grafton; and on the south by Poestenkill and North Greenbush. The District #2 Schoolhouse, known locally as the Garfield School and also known as Brunswick District No. 2 School, located in Brunswick, New York, United States, is a two-room schoolhouse built and opened in 1881. It hosted local students until the consolidation of Brunswick (Brittonkill) Central School District in the mid-1950s. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) in 1988, becoming the first building in the Town of Brunswick to be added to the Register. It is the current home of the Brunswick Historical Society. The building, located on the corner of Moonlawn Road and New York Route 2 (Brunswick Road), was owned by Brunswick Central School District until it was transferred to the Town of Brunswick in 1986. It was named for President James A. Garfield, who taught penmanship at a nearby school in Poestenkill.

The East Farm includes a house (c. 1890), shop barn (c. 1850), tractor shed (c. 1850, c. 1900-1930), hen house (c. 1930), dairy barn (c. 1900, moved c. 1912), horse barn (c. 1910), oat barn (c. 1900), and tool barn (c. 1910) The West Farm farmhouse was about 1870, and has a 2 1/2-story, Greek Revival style main block with two 1 1/2-story additions. Also on the property are the contributing shed (c. 1850), horse barn (c. 1870-1890), garage (c. 1920), main barn group (c. 1860, c. 1810-1840), milk house (c. 1910), oat house (c. 1850), and two corn cribs (c. 1850, c. 1920).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2013.

The original section of the farmhouse was built about 1785, with the main block built in 1849. It is a two-story, five-bay, frame house with a side-gabled roof. It features a full-width front porch.
