Howard J. Lamade Stadium

The 2016 Little League World Series was held from August 18 to August 28 in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Eight teams from the United States and eight from throughout the world competed in the 70th edition of the tournament. Maine-Endwell Little League of Maine-Endwell, New York, defeated East Seoul Little League of Seoul, South Korea, in the championship game by a 2–1 score. It was the first Little League World Series title for a team from the United States since 2011, and for the state of New York since 1964, and the third overall.

The Little League World Series is an annual baseball tournament for children aged 10 to 12 years old, held in the Eastern United States. Originally called the National Little League Tournament, it was later renamed for the World Series in Major League Baseball. The Series was first held in 1947 and is held every August in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania; while the postal address of the organization is in Williamsport, the Series itself is played at Howard J. Lamade Stadium and Volunteer Stadium at the Little League headquarters complex in South Williamsport. Initially, only teams from the United States competed in the Series, but it has since become a worldwide tournament. The tournament has gained popular renown, especially in the United States, where games from the Series and even from regional tournaments are broadcast on ESPN. Teams from the United States have won a plurality of the series, although from 1969 to 1991 teams from Taiwan dominated the series, winning in 15 out of those 23 years. Taiwan's dominance during those years has been attributed to a national effort to combat its perceived diplomatic isolation around the world. From 2010 through 2017, teams from Japan similarly dominated the series, winning five of those matchups. While the Little League Baseball World Series is frequently referred to as just the Little League World Series, it is actually one of seven World Series tournaments sponsored by Little League International, in different locations. Each of them brings community teams from different Little League International regions around the world together in baseball (four age divisions) and girls' softball (three age divisions). The tournament structure described here is that used for the Little League Baseball World Series. The structure used for the other World Series is similar, but with different regions.

The Peter J. McGovern Little League Museum, formally known as the World of Little League: Peter J. McGovern Museum and Official Store, is located on the Little League International Complex on Route 15 in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania, United States. The museum offers interactive exhibits for children of all ages. In addition, patrons can learn about the history of Little League Baseball. The museum chronicles the growth of Little League from one, three-team league in 1939 to the multi-national youth sporting organization that it is today. Howard J. Lamade Stadium and Little League Volunteer Stadium are located directly behind the museum.

Little League Volunteer Stadium is a baseball stadium in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Along with Howard J. Lamade Stadium, it annually hosts the Little League World Series, one of the few sports events where children 12 years old and younger take the center stage. Volunteer Stadium was built starting in 2000 to accommodate the growth of the Little League World Series, and was completed in 2001. Its seating capacity is 3,000. The stadium is comparable in seating capacity to Lamade Stadium but with far less standing room; the berms surrounding the stadium are much smaller, limiting potential attendance to 5,000 spectators, as opposed to the over 40,000 that can be accommodated at Lamade Stadium. Volunteer Stadium is used for double-elimination pool play only. All elimination games and consolation games are played at Lamade Stadium. In 2006, the home run distance was increased by 20 ft (6.1 m), from 205 ft (62 m) to 225 ft (69 m), to all fields; the outfield wall forms one-fourth of a true circle.

South Williamsport Area Junior Senior High School is a public junior and senior high school located in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania. It is part of the South Williamsport Area School District.

The Carl E. Stotz Memorial Little League Bridge, formerly known as the Market Street Bridge, carries approximately 27,700 vehicles a day on U.S. Route 15 over the West Branch Susquehanna River between Williamsport and South Williamsport in Lycoming County, Pennsylvania in the United States. It is the seventh bridge on the site and was built at a cost of over $60,000,000. In October 2007 the new northbound bridge over the river and the new "direct connect" single-point urban interchange with Interstate 180 was completed and opened to traffic. The overall project, which included the reconstruction of Via Bella, was completed in summer 2008.

South Williamsport is a borough in Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is famous for hosting the Little League World Series. The population was 6,259 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Williamsport, Pennsylvania Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Christ Episcopal Church is an historical church in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. It was founded in 1841 as the first Episcopal Church of Williamsport. The church building was consecrated in 1843. It has a distinctive characteristic as the high-church or Anglo-catholic Episcopal parish in the city. Its sanctuary is regarded as one of the most beautiful classical worship spaces in central Pennsylvania, being appointed with several genuine Tiffany stained-glass windows, encaustic tilework, and much fine brass and artisanal woodwork. It is also noted historically for the tenure of its eleventh Rector, the Rev. Dr. John Henry Hopkins, Jr., composer of the beloved Epiphany Hymn "We Three Kings of Orient Are."

The Hart Building is an historic commercial building which is located at 26-30 West 3rd Street at the corner of Court Street in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

The Williamsport Dam, officially known as the Hepburn Street Dam, is a low-head dam on the West Branch Susquehanna River in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. It broke ground in 1984 and was finished in the spring of 1986. It was built for recreation, such as boating, watersports and fishing. It has been described as a "killer dam" and a "drowning machine".

Faxon is a census-designated place (CDP) in Loyalsock Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, United States. As of the 2010 census, it had a population of 1,395. Faxon is not a separately incorporated community, but is a part of Loyalsock Township (which is a municipality under Pennsylvania law). Faxon is bordered by the city of Williamsport to the west, Four Mile Drive to the north, Miller Run and the CDP of Kenmar to the east, and Interstate 180 to the south.There was a CDP named Faxon in Lycoming County before, but it lost that status in the 1990 Census.

The Trade & Transit Centre is a building located in Downtown Williamsport, Pennsylvania.The building is River Valley Transit's hub of operations, most of the companies routes originate or end at the Trade & Transit Centre. The building features a ground level seating areas as the public waits for its bus, higher floor conference halls, a top floor observation deck and seating as well as multiple board room available for rent by the public. The buildings parking is held in an adjacent parking garage with handicap parking and accessibility.
