William R. Belknap School

ear X-tacy was a Louisville, Kentucky "alternative record store," owned and operated by John Timmons. The store announced its closing on October 31, 2011, after 26 years in business.

Belknap is an urban neighborhood three and a half miles east of downtown Louisville, Kentucky, USA. The neighborhood is bound by Bardstown Road, Douglass Boulevard, Dundee Road and Newburg Road. It is part of a larger area of Louisville called the Highlands. Belknap is often described as the neighborhood in the heart of The Highlands.

Louisville Classical Academy (LCA) is nonsectarian, independent school from kindergarten through to grade eight. The school is located in the Highlands neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky. The school provides a classical liberal arts education through the disciplines of literature, Latin, Greek, mathematics, and music.

Woodbourne House is a Greek Revival historic building in the Highlands-Douglass neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. In 1939, the building was purchased by Rugby University School, a private school. The building is now used for apartments for elderly people.

Highlands–Douglass is a neighborhood five miles (8 km) southeast of downtown Louisville, Kentucky, United States. The neighborhood is bound by Bardstown Road, Speed Avenue, Taylorsville Road, and Cherokee Park. It is considered a part of a larger area of Louisville called The Highlands. It is often simply called Douglass.

The Saint Francis of Assisi Complex in Louisville, Kentucky is a historic church at 1960 Bardstown Road. It was built in 1926-28 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1987.It includes the St. Francis of Assisi School and a rectory, both designed by Fred T. Erhart (1870-1951). The school was deemed "an outstanding example of the Spanish Mission style and one of very few of this type constructed in the Louisville area."

Atherton High School is a public school in the Highlands district of Louisville, Kentucky, United States, and is part of the Jefferson County Public School district. It opened in 1924 as J.M. Atherton High School for Girls at 1418 Morton Avenue. It is named after John McDougal Atherton, a local businessman and politician who was instrumental in changing Louisville's school system administration from trustees to a board of education. The school became coeducational in 1950.Atherton moved to its current site in 1962 on the old Ray and Charles Clagett estate and its old premises is now the Jefferson County Traditional Middle School. A new wing was added to the Dundee location in 1992. Atherton offers an International Studies Program and an International Baccalaureate (IB) Program. The IB Program is the only one in the city at a public school, and also the only one open to boys (the city's other IB program is at the all-girls' Sacred Heart Academy, a Catholic school). Students also have the option of enrolling in Advanced Placement or Honors classes as well as in the Advanced Placement Program, Exceptional Child Education Program, and English as a Second Language Program.

Rose Hill is an antebellum house in Louisville, Kentucky. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. It is located about three miles (5 km) from Downtown Louisville in the Douglass neighborhood of Louisville's Highlands area. It is located just off Bardstown Road.

Strathmoor Village is a home rule-class city in Jefferson County, Kentucky, United States. The population was 648 at the 2010 census.

Hayfield-Dundee is a neighborhood in eastern Louisville, Kentucky. Its boundaries are Dundee Road, Emerson Avenue, Newburg Road, I-264, and Tremont Drive to the east. Prior to subdivision, much of the land had been part of the Hayfield Farm, owned by Dr. Charles Wilkens Short, a founding professor of the University of Louisville medical school. The area around Gardiner Lane was subdivided in 1944, but most of the neighborhood was developed in the 1950s and 1960s as the Dundee Estates, Clarewood and Dell Lane subdivisions. Many of the houses, especially in the central core of the neighborhood, were built in Historic revival styles. The south fork of Beargrass Creek runs through the neighborhood. Historically, flooding was not a serious problem, but due to heavy development and the changing nature of the watershed, the creek began to flood in areas where it had not before. After flooding in the early 1960s did hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage to the neighborhood, the Army Corps of Engineers rerouted the creek between Bashford Manor Lane and Bardstown Road in 1966.

Assumption High School is a Catholic all-girls high school located in Louisville, Kentucky, sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy.
