South Attleboro, Massachusetts

South Attleboro station is a temporarily closed MBTA Commuter Rail Providence/Stoughton Line station in Attleboro, Massachusetts. It is located under Newport Avenue (Route 1A) in the South Attleboro neighborhood, just north of the Rhode Island border. The station had two side platforms serving the two tracks of the Northeast Corridor, connected by a footbridge to a park-and-ride lot. Construction of the station was approved in 1987 and completed the next year. Opening was delayed by a dispute between the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) and the Massachusetts Architectural Access Board (MAAB) because the station was not accessible. After the MBTA and MAAB reached an agreement on the length of accessible platforms, the station opened in July 1990. The footbridge was in poor condition, with two sets of stairs closed off. The MBTA issued a contract for design of station improvements, including a new footbridge with elevators, in 2020. The station was temporarily closed on February 26, 2021, due to structural deterioration. Demolition took place in 2023.

Arbour-Fuller Hospital is a 103-bed private psychiatric hospital in South Attleboro, Massachusetts. It is known for caring for people with psychological and substance abuse disorders. The hospital has a unit for adults with intellectual disabilities, and a unit for dealing for teens with various psychological and substance addiction issues. It contains dual units as well as a detox and has a partial hospital program. It also has general psychotic units for adults. The hospital is owned by Arbour Health system which is owned by Universal Health Services.In 2016, the US Department of Justice announced that it was investigating the hospital for billing fraud.

The Herbert A. Sadler House is a historic house located at 574 Newport Avenue in Attleboro, Massachusetts. Built in 1906, it is one of the city's most elaborate examples of Colonial Revival architecture. It was built for Herbert Sadler, the owner of Sadler Brothers, one of the city's leading jewelry firms of the period. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on October 21, 1982. It now houses an assisted living facility.

The Tannery River is a river in North Attleboro and Attleboro, Massachusetts. It is 4 miles (6 km) long and is a tributary of the Sevenmile River. There is one dam along its length.

Bucklin Brook is a brook in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. It is 3 miles long and was at one time the source of drinking water for the city from a reservoir that was located at present day McCoy Stadium. The upper portion of the stream up to the stadium was buried in the 1930s to make room for development. The lower portion from the stadium to its mouth was buried in the 1960s because of an outbreak of polio. The brook still flows under the city.

The Standard Paper Box Corporation is a historic industrial complex at 110 Kenyon Street in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. The complex consists of four buildings built between 1914 and 1971, primarily for the purpose of manufacturing boxes for the jewelry industry that was a major economic force in Pawtucket and adjacent Attleboro, Massachusetts. The buildings are notable in the historical development of power systems for industrial facilities, retaining in situ elements of several generations of electro-mechanical power infrastructure. The main building, now a two-story brick structure was built in 1914 by the Standard Paper Box Corporation, which operated on the premises until 1933, enlarging it with a second building in the 1920s. The complex was purchased by Donald Young, Inc., which expanded the premises again, raising the main building from one to two stories, enlarging the second building, and constructing a third in 1939. That company also produced boxes, operating until 1971.The complex was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2015.

Hindley Manufacturing Company is an ISO 9001-2000 certified, wire-hardware manufacturer located in Cumberland, Rhode Island. The company produces a wide range of specially designed wire forms and standard wire hardware parts for number of applications and industries. Specific products include Bright Wire and Stainless Steel Hardware, Peg Hooks, Turnbuckles, Storage Hooks, Plumbing Specialties, Cotter Pins, Eyebolts, U-bolts, J-bolts, Screw Eyes & a variety of Hook types. In 1897, the company's founder Walter Hindley, automated the manufacture of cotter pins in a small shop near the Blackstone River north of Providence, RI. The company originally produced only cotter pins and then plumbing supplies. Currently, the company's main focus is on the various wire-hardware products mentioned previously. In 1956, the company was relocated to its present-day location in Cumberland. The manufacturing facility is still privately owned by the Hindley family and encompasses over 100,000 square feet (9,300 m2), a few miles from the original plant's location.

The Phillips Insulated Wire Company Complex is an historic industrial site at 413 Central Avenue in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. Encompassing three city blocks, the Phillips complex includes fourteen brick buildings with more than 350,000 square feet (33,000 m2) of space. They were built by the Phillips Insulated Wire Company between about 1898 and 1927. The company, established in 1888, was one of the most successful manufacturers of coated wire products, in an industry that ranked as the third-largest in Pawtucket. The complex was used by a variety of owners for the manufacture of such products until 2003.The complex was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.

The Sevenmile River or Seven Mile River is a river which flows through U.S. states of Massachusetts and Rhode Island. It flows approximately 9.8 miles (15.8 km).

Fire Station Number 4 or Fire Station No. 4 is a historic fire station located at 474 Broadway in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. The building historically has also been called the Collyer Fire Station. The Queen Anne Style station was built in 1890. It is a 2+1⁄2-story, hip-roofed rectangular brick building with two brick wings and a bell tower. Constructed of red brick with sandstone trim and sandstone lintels and sills on the windows, the building has a foliate terracotta plaque bearing its name and date of construction. The fire station was closed as a firehouse in 1974, when the current Fire Station Number 4 on Cottage Street opened. The interior of the building was greatly modified to accommodate offices and meeting rooms by the time of its listing on the national register. In 2014, the building is being used by the Catholic Charities of Providence. Fire Station Number 4 was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

The Donald W. Wyatt Detention Facility was established in 1993 as the nation’s first publicly owned and privately operated adult secure correctional facility and is currently operated by the Central Falls Detention Facility Corporation. This special non-profit, quasi-public detention facility was developed for use by the United States Marshal Service (USMS) in the Northeast and was later extended to include the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) from 2005 to 2008 and again starting in 2019. Beginning in October 2011, the facility began serving the United States Navy, housing Navy personnel who have been placed in the custody of the General Court-Martial Convening Authority (GCMC). The facility operates at maximum security utilizing an architectural and high-tech design and construction containment system. A $47 million expansion was completed in December 2006 and increased the maximum occupancy from 300 all-male housing to its current capacity of 770 including a 40-bed unit for female detainees. It is the corporation's only facility.

The Daggett House is an historic house in Slater Park in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. The house is the oldest standing house in Pawtucket and one of the oldest surviving buildings in the state.
