Stroud Township is a township in Monroe County, Pennsylvania, United States. As of 2020, the township had an estimated population of 19,812.

Delaware Water Gap is a water gap on the border of the U.S. states of New Jersey and Pennsylvania where the Delaware River cuts through a large ridge of the Appalachian Mountains.The gap makes up the southern portion of the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, which is used primarily for recreational purposes, such as canoeing, fishing, hiking, and rock climbing. Though the US National Park Service manages the National Recreation Area, portions of the water gap are also patrolled by New Jersey Division of Parks and Forestry. The park does not charge an entrance fee but does have expanded amenity fees, including vehicle season and daily passes, bicycles amenity fees, and charges for beach use. Most of the park is open 24-hours a day, with most day-use areas within the park open sunrise to sunset (such as trailhead parking lots, Millbrook Village, and all picnic areas).

Slateford Junction was a railway junction in the small town of Slateford, Pennsylvania. It was built in 1911 to connect the existing mainline of the Lackawanna Railroad, the so-called Old Road, with the new Lackawanna Cut-Off. It was in service until 1979. The junction sat 28.5 miles (46 km) west of Port Morris Junction, where the Cut-Off connects with what is today New Jersey Transit's Morristown Line. When operations began on December 24, 1911, the junction merged four tracks (two main tracks and two sidings) from the Cut-Off with two from the Old Road. An interlocking tower at the junction opened four days before the Cut-Off itself. The junction also included a 60-foot turntable, but this saw limited use; it was dismantled in the 1930s and its pit filled in shortly thereafter. The tower closed on January 11, 1951; the switches at the junction became hand-thrown with electric locks.Today, the Pennsylvania Northeast Regional Railroad Authority (PNRRA) owns the surviving tracks at Slateford Junction as well as the right-of-way of the Cut-Off on the Pennsylvania side of the Delaware River. The Delaware Lackawanna Railroad currently operates freight trains at Slateford Junction and over the rest of the PNRRA's tracks. As of 2022, there are plans to restore service along the Cut-Off via NJ Transit and Amtrak.

Slateford is an unincorporated community that is located in Northampton County, Pennsylvania. It is part of the Lehigh Valley metropolitan area, which has a population of 861,899 and is the 68th-most populous metropolitan area in the U.S. as of the 2020 census.

Mount Tammany is the southernmost peak of the Kittatinny Mountains, in Knowlton Township, Warren County, New Jersey, United States. It is 1,526 feet (465 m) tall, and forms the east side of the Delaware Water Gap. Across the Gap is Mount Minsi, on the Pennsylvania side of the river. The mountain is named after the Lenni Lenape chief Tamanend. It lies along the Appalachian Trail in Worthington State Forest. The summit can be hiked by the Mount Tammany Trail ascending the western slopes. The trailhead is accessible from Interstate 80.

The Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad Water Gap Station is located in Delaware Water Gap, Monroe County, Pennsylvania. Service to Delaware Water Gap along what became known as the Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad started on May 13, 1856. The station structure was designed by architect Frank J. Nies and built in 1903. It consists of two separate one-story brick buildings, a station house and freight house, joined by a common concrete platform and slate covered hipped roof. It is reflective of the Late Victorian style. The station closed to passenger service in March 1953, and was sold to the Borough in 1958. It is said to sit just outside Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, though it appears within the area's boundary on maps. The station was added to the National Register of Historic Places on November 27, 2002.

Delaware Water Gap is a borough in Monroe County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is located adjacent to the Delaware Water Gap, the pass through which the Lackawanna Corridor and Interstate 80 run across the Pennsylvania-New Jersey border along the Delaware River. The population of Delaware Water Gap was 675 at the 2020 census.

The Deer Head Inn is a jazz club and inn located in Delaware Water Gap, Pennsylvania. Established in the nineteenth century, the Deer Head Inn became the after hours, artistic home for jazz musicians who worked in the Pocono Mountain Resorts in the mid-twentieth century. Artists have included: Zoot Sims, Stan Getz, Phil Woods, Urbie Green, Dave Liebman, Keith Jarrett, Bill Charlap, Bill Goodwin (jazz Drummer), and Bob Dorough. In 1992, pianist Keith Jarrett recorded the live album At the Deer Head Inn there. The performance was to relaunch the club under new owners. Prior to the piano recording, when Jarrett played, he usually sat in on drums.Pianist John Coates Jr. played at the club for around 50 years, beginning in 1956. In the late 1970s and early 1980s, he recorded several albums there. Woods became a frequent performer at the club after moving to the area in the early 1970s.The Deer Head, originally named the Central House, was built in the 1840s. It was bought by Mary Carrig, Dennis Carrig, Robert Mancuso, and Jason Wilson in 2005. Prior to them, the Lehr Family owned it for many years. Brodhead Creek is a 21.9-mile-long (35.2 km) tributary of the Delaware River in the Poconos of eastern Pennsylvania in the United States.It is formed by the union of the Middle and Leavitt branches in Barrett Township in Monroe County. The native name was "Analomink." The present name was given for Daniel Brodhead, a prominent early settler. It receives McMichael Creek as it flows south and east into the Delaware River. The stream flows south, separating the boroughs of Stroudsburg and East Stroudsburg. It covers a basin of 294 sq mi and its maximum discharge was 68,800 cubic feet per second, in 1955.Brodhead Creek joins the Delaware River at the head of the Delaware Water Gap.From 1888 to 1944, a coal gasification plant operated at the confluence of Brodhead and McMichael Creeks in Stroudsburg. The operations produced coal tar waste which contaminated the groundwater. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) placed the site on the Superfund National Priorities List in 1983. After cleanup, operations and monitoring activities are ongoing. The EPA removed the site from the National Priorities List in 2001.

Shawnee-Minisink Site is a prehistoric archaeological site located in Smithfield Township, Monroe County, Pennsylvania in the upper Delaware Valley. It was the site of a Paleoindian camp site. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.

The Delaware Water Gap is a proposed rail station in Smithfield Township, Monroe County, Pennsylvania, as part of the Lackawanna Cut-Off Restoration Project. The new station would be built south of PA Route 2028 (River Road), about 1 mile (1.6 km) west of the historic railroad station of the same name. Passenger rail service into New Jersey and New York City would be provided by NJ Transit or Amtrak via the Lackawanna Cut-Off.Parking would be available at the Pennsylvania welcome center, located southwest of Interstate 80. The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania recently completed improvements to the welcome center. A park-and-ride facility, a five-level garage with about 900 spaces, would be built in the current parking area. The amount of parking for the welcome center would remain unchanged. Pedestrians would walk between the station platform, located between the track and Interstate 80, and the parking site via River Road (Route 2028), which would be improved to handle the foot traffic. Cars coming from Interstate 80 would also use River Road.The proposed location is just outside Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area.

Marshalls Creek is a 13.3-mile-long (21.4 km) tributary of the Brodhead Creek in the Poconos of eastern Pennsylvania in the United States. Marshalls Creek was named after Edward Marshall, a pioneer citizen. Variant names were "Marshall Creek" and "Marshall's Creek".
