Sloping Island

The Sloping Island Group is a group of small islands in south-eastern Tasmania in Australia. They lie close to the south-eastern coast of Tasmania around the Tasman and Forestier Peninsulas.The group consists of: Sloping Island Barren Island Fulham Island Hog Island King George Island Smooth Island Spectacle Island Little Spectacle Island Visscher Island Woody Island

Hog Island is a small island and nature reserve, with an area of 0.35 hectares (0.86 acres), part of the Sloping Island Group, lying in the Frederick Henry Bay, close to the south-eastern coast of Tasmania, Australia. The island is situated around the Tasman and Forestier Peninsulas.Recorded breeding seabird and wader species are Pacific gull, kelp gull, sooty oystercatcher and Caspian tern.

Frederick Henry Bay is a body of water in the southeast of Tasmania, Australia. It is located to the east of the South Arm Peninsula, and west of the Tasman Peninsula. Towns on the coast of the bay include Lauderdale, Seven Mile Beach, Dodges Ferry and Primrose Sands. The bay is accessible via Storm Bay from the south, and provides further access to Norfolk Bay to its east. The bay contains Seven Mile Beach on its northern shores, the closest surfing beach to Hobart.

Over 50% of houses in Primrose Sands are unoccupied most of the year.The town is home to an Returned and Services League of Australia club, community centre and a combined store and post office.

The South Arm Important Bird Area is a disjunct tract of mainly intertidal land on the eastern outskirts of Hobart, Tasmania, Australia.
