Andingmen station

Andingmen Subdistrict (Chinese: 安定门街道Chinese: 安定门街道; pinyin: āndìngmén jiēdào) is a subdistrict in the northwestern part of Dongcheng District, Beijing, China. It contains 9 communities, covers 1.74 square kilometers of land, and has a population of 32,172 by the year 2020.This subdistrict was named after Andingmen (lit. 'Gate of Stability'), a gate of the Beijing city wall that once stood in this area.

The Temple of the Earth (simplified Chinese: 地坛; traditional Chinese: 地壇; pinyin: Dìtán) in Beijing, China, is located in the northern part of central Beijing, around the Andingmen area and just outside Beijing's second ring road. It is also located just a few hundred yards north of Yonghe Temple. At 42.7 hectares (106 acres), it is the second largest of the four Temples of Beijing behind only the Temple of Heaven. It was built in 1530 during the Ming dynasty. Emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties would attend the annual summer solstice ritual of offerings to the heaven. Directly opposite it, at the other side of the city, is the Temple of Heaven in Chongwenmen, southern urban Beijing.

The Yonghe Temple (Chinese: 雍和宫, "Palace of Peace and Harmony"), also known as the Yonghe Lamasery, or popularly as the Lama Temple, is a temple and monastery of the Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism located on 12 Yonghegong Street, Dongcheng District, Beijing, China. The building and artwork of the temple is a combination of Han Chinese and Tibetan styles. This building is one of the largest Tibetan Buddhist monasteries in China proper. The current abbot is Lama Hu Xuefeng.Yonghe Temple, because Emperor Qianlong was born here, there were two emperors in Yonghe Temple. It became the center of the Qing government in charge of Tibetan Buddhism affairs across the country. Yonghe Temple is the highest Buddhist temple in the country in the middle and late Qing dynasty.

The Beijing Guozijian (traditional Chinese: 北京國子監; simplified Chinese: 北京国子监; pinyin: Běijīng Guózǐjiān; Wade–Giles: Pei-ching Kuo-tzu-chien), located on Guozijian Street in Beijing, China, was China's national university during the Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties, and the last Guozijian of China. Most of the Beijing Guozijian's buildings were built during the Ming Dynasty and it remains an important heritage site in China. During the Hundred Days' Reform of the Qing Dynasty, the education and administration of education functions of Guozijian was mainly replaced by the Imperial University of Peking (Jingshi Daxuetang), later known as Peking University. The Guozijian was shut down in 1905. The Guozijian, often translated into English as the Imperial Academy or Imperial College, was the national central institute of learning in ancient Chinese dynasties. It was the highest institute of learning in China's traditional educational system. Emperors in imperial China would also frequently visit the Guozijian to read Confucian classics to thousands of students.

Beijing Temple of Confucius (simplified Chinese: 北京孔庙; traditional Chinese: 北京孔廟; pinyin: Běijīng Kǒngmiào) is the second-largest Confucian temple in China, after the one in Confucius's hometown of Qufu.

Guozijian Street (Chinese: 国子监街; pinyin: Guózǐjiàn Jiē), formerly known as Chengxian Street (Chinese: 成贤街; pinyin: Chéngxián Jiē), is a street in Dongcheng District, Beijing. It is listed as an important historical site.The Beijing Guozijian (Imperial College), dating to 1306, and a Temple of Confucius, built in 1302, are located in this street. The Yonghe Temple is located next to its east entrance.

Andingmen Bridge (Chinese: 安定门桥; pinyin: Āndìngménqiáo) is a roundabout interchange bridge located on the 2nd Ring Road in Beijing. It sits on the demolished Andingmen. The Andingmen Outer Street passes directly over the 2nd Ring Road. It sits directly south of Anzhen Bridge (安贞桥). Because the Ring Road is often a traffic bottleneck, the northern stretch between Andingmen and Xiaojie Bridge is often jammed, particularly in the lead to the turn-off for the Airport Expressway. The same goes for part of the road around the Deshengmen Bridge (德胜门桥) and all of the western side.

The Bailin Temple (Chinese: 柏林寺; pinyin: Bǎilín Sì; lit. 'Monastery of the Cypress Grove' is a 14th-century Tibetan Buddhist temple and monastery located in Beijing, China.

Qingnianhu Park (Chinese: 青年湖; pinyin: Qīngnián Hú; literally "Youth Lake") is a city park in Beijing, situated in Dongcheng District, west of Andingmenwai Street. The park was built in 1960 and covers an area of 170,000 square metres (1,800,000 sq ft). Qingnianhu, or Youth Lake, accounts for about a third of the park's area. The lake was dug by teenage volunteers organized by the local government in 1958. Public transportation can be used to get to the park, which lies just outside Ditan station served by bus lines 18, 104, and 108. An entrance fee of 2 yuan is required as of 2012.

Andingmen (simplified Chinese: 安定门; traditional Chinese: 安定門; pinyin: Āndìngmén; lit. 'Gate of Stability') was a gate in Beijing's Ming-era city wall. The gate was torn down along with the city wall in the 1960s. Andingmen is now a place name. Where the gate once stood is now Andingmen Bridge, a roundabout overpass on the northern 2nd Ring Road. The overpass links Andingmen Inner Street which runs south of the overpass inside the walled city and Andingmen Outer Street which runs north away from the wall of the city. Bus and trolleybus stops are nearby, along with Andingmen Station, Line 2 of the Beijing Subway. Ju'er Hutong (simplified Chinese: 菊儿胡同; traditional Chinese: 菊兒衚衕; pinyin: Jú'ér Hútòng) is a popular neighborhood for expats to live in. It is located in the hutongs southwest of Jiaodaokou, and just east of Shichahai and Gulou (the Drum Tower). Yongkang Hutong (Chinese: 永康胡同; pinyin: Yǒngkáng Hútòng) is another popular residential location for expats in Beijing.

Yonghegong Lama Temple station (simplified Chinese: 雍和宫站; traditional Chinese: 雍和宮站; pinyin: Yōnghégōng zhàn) is an interchange station on Line 2 and Line 5 of the Beijing Subway.

Beixinqiao station (simplified Chinese: 北新桥站; traditional Chinese: 北新橋站; pinyin: Běixīnqiáo Zhàn) is a station on Line 5 and Capital Airport Express of the Beijing Subway. It is located in Beixinqiao Subdistrict, at the intersection of Jiaodaokou East Street to the west, Dongzhimen Inner Street to the east, Yonghegong Street to the north and Dongsi North Street to the south.
