Fuchengmen station

The Miaoying Temple (simplified Chinese: 妙应寺; traditional Chinese: 妙應寺; pinyin: Miàoyìng Sì), also known as the "White Stupa Temple" (Chinese: 白塔寺; pinyin: Báitǎ Sì), is a Chinese Buddhist temple on the north side of Fuchengmennei Street in the Xicheng District of Beijing. The temple was a monastery of the Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism and is now open to the public as a museum. The temple's White Pagoda was built 1279 in the Yuan Dynasty and is the oldest and largest Tibetan Buddhist pagoda in China.

The Beijing Lu Xun Museum (Chinese: 北京鲁迅博物馆) is a museum in Fucheng Gate Avenue, Beijing, China. The buildings in which the museum situated at was Lu Xun's former Beijing residence. The writer's house museum was established in 1956. The museum is dedicated to Lu Xun's life and achievements and features large quantities of scripts, photos, pictures related to Lu. In addition to materials related to Lu Xun, the museum contains a large collection of artworks.

Fuchengmen (simplified Chinese: 阜成门; traditional Chinese: 阜成門; pinyin: Fùchéngmén; Manchu:ᡝᠯᡤᡳᠶᡝᠨ ᡳᠮᡠᡨᡝᡥᡝᡩᡠᡴᠠ;Möllendorf:elgiyen i mutehe duka), formerly known as Pingze Gate, was a gate on the western side of Beijing's city wall. The gate was torn down in the 1960s, and has been replaced by the Fuchengmen overpass on the 2nd Ring Road. Even though it has been destroyed, it is still used as a place name. Fuchengmen Station is a transportation node, where a number of public buses and Line 2 of the Beijing Subway stop. The street that once passed through the gate is still named in its relation to the gate. East of Fuchengmen, it is known as Fuchengmen Inner Street because it would have been inside the wall. West of Fuchengmen, it is known as Fuchengmen Outer Street. Further west, the street becomes Fushi Road (China National Highway 109).

Chegongzhuang Station (simplified Chinese: 车公庄站; traditional Chinese: 車公莊站; pinyin: Chēgōngzhuāng Zhàn) is an interchange station on Line 2 and Line 6 of the Beijing Subway. The station is on intersection of Chegongzhuang street and the West 2nd Ring Road. It provides direct access to Guanyuan Park.

The Geological Museum of China (Chinese: 中国地质博物馆), built in 1916, is a geological museum, boasting 200 thousand specimens. This museum is located in the Xisi area of Beijing and opened on October 1, 1959. It is the earliest geological scientific museum of China. At present, the Geological Museum of China has more than 100,000 geological specimens. Many of them are precious items reputed as "National Treasures", such as "the Giant Shandong Dinosaur"(Shantungosaurus) fossil, the most complete dinosaur fossils extant in the world excavated from Liaoning; the fossils of primitive birds that were found in the west of Liaoning Province, which has the essential values to the research on birds of the area; the teeth fossils of Yunnan Yuanmou Man, which shifts the appearance of human beings in China to a much more earlier time; the stoneware, stone pearls, bone needles and bone decoration unearthed from the site of the Upper Cave man at Zhoukoudian in Beijing; a cinnabar crystal of 237 grams that is called as "King of Cinnabar"; and more than 60 new mineral products that were found in China, and so on. Basic displays of the museum are composed of five exhibition halls, namely, the exhibition halls of geological resource, global history, stratum paleontology, mineral rocks and diamond, with an exhibition area of 2,500 square meters. The hall of geological resource introduces in different catalogues and classifications the abundant mineral products and other geological resources in China; the hall of global history introduces earth formation and construction, earth inner motive power geological action, earth outer power geological action and earth washing action; in the stratum paleontology hall, there are the special exhibitions of Zhendan biome, insect fossils, fish fossils, egg fossils, and the Upper Cave Man—ancient creatures and their characteristics of different geological eras.

The Guangji Temple (simplified Chinese: 广济寺; traditional Chinese: 廣濟寺; pinyin: Guǎngjì Sì) is a Buddhist temple located at inner Fuchengmen Street, Xicheng District, Beijing, China. It is also the headquarters of the Buddhist Association of China, founded by Master Xuyun, who is the father of modern Buddhism and hailed from Zhenru Temple. The current abbot is Shi Yanjue. Originally built in the Jin dynasty (1115-1234), additions were made to the temple by successive dynasties. However, the present temple was completed during the Ming dynasty (1368–1644). It covers an area of 5.766 acres (23,330 m2). The major structures in the temple divides between the main gate and four other large halls and many other temples.The temple houses a wall of 18 Buddhist figures, many Ming dynasty religious relics and a library of over 100,000 volumes of scriptures in 20 different languages, some of which date back to the time of the Song dynasty (960–1279).

The Pagoda of Monk Wansong or Pagoda of the Old Man of Wansong (simplified Chinese: 万松老人塔; traditional Chinese: 萬松老人塔; pinyin: Wànsōng Lǎorén Tǎ) is a brick pagoda originally built during the mid 13th-century. It stands near the Xisi intersection in the Xicheng District of Beijing, China.

Zhalan Cemetery (Chinese: 滕公栅栏; pinyin: ténggōng zhàlan) is a former Jesuit burial ground in Beijing. It was initially established in the late Ming dynasty for the burial of Matteo Ricci. The current setup is a restoration using original carved tombstones, following multiple episodes of desecration and turmoil during the Boxer Rebellion, the 1950s and the Cultural Revolution.

The Temple of the Moon (traditional Chinese: 月壇; simplified Chinese: 月坛; pinyin: Yuètán) is an altar located in Fuchengmen, Xicheng District, in western Beijing, China. The altar was built in 1530 during the Ming Dynasty for use in ritual sacrifice to the Moon by the Emperor of China.The altar and the surrounding grounds are within a public park. The altar itself is no longer intact, though the surrounding walls remain.

Xicheng District (simplified Chinese: 西城区; traditional Chinese: 西城區; pinyin: Xīchéng Qū; lit. 'West City District') is a district of Beijing. Xicheng District spans 32 square kilometres (12 sq mi), covering the western half of the old city (largely inside the 2nd Ring Road - the eastern half is Dongcheng District), and has 706,691 inhabitants (2000 Census). Its postal code is 100032. Xicheng is subdivided into 15 subdistricts of the city proper of Beijing. The former Xuanwu District was merged into Xicheng in July 2010. The Xidan commercial district, Beijing Financial Street (Jinrongjie), Beihai Park, Jingshan Park, Shichahai and Zhongnanhai are within its jurisdiction. The popular Houhai bar area is also in Xicheng Precinct. Before the 1911 Revolution, most royalty and aristocrats resided in the precinct. The oldest Catholic church in Beijing, the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception is located in Xicheng.

Peking Union Medical College Hospital (PUMCH), also known as Beijing Xiehe Hospital (Chinese: 北京协和医院), is a large teaching hospital in Beijing, China. It was founded in 1921 by Rockefeller Foundation and is affiliated to both Peking Union Medical College (PUMC) and Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences (CAMS). During the Cultural Revolution, it was renamed the "Anti-imperialist Hospital". It has two locations: the Dongdan Campus in Wangfujing, Dongcheng District and the Xidan Campus in Damucang Hutong, Xicheng District.The last emperor of the Great Qing Dynasty, Aisin-Gioro Puyi, died at the Peking Union Medical College Hospital on October 17, 1967.

The Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel (Chinese: 圣母圣衣堂), more often colloquially referred to as Xizhimen Church (Chinese: 西直门天主堂), is a Roman Catholic church located on the southern side at No. 130 of Xizhimen Neidajie in Beijing. It is commonly referred to as Xitang (西堂, the West Church) to the locals. The church at Xizhimen was the last among the four historic Catholic churches in Beijing. The West Church was first built in 1723 during the Qing dynasty by the Italian Lazarist missionary Teodorico Pedrini: it was the first non-Jesuit church in Beijing. After Pedrini's death the church was run by Carmelites and then Augustinians, who were there when it was destroyed in 1811. The church was rebuilt in 1867. After a second destruction in 1900 during the Boxer Rebellion, it was built again in 1912 as we can see it today. Delicate Corinth pillars and Gothic peaked arches inside the church create a grand, elegant and solemn impression upon visitors.There is red graffiti written on the church from the time of the Cultural Revolution, which the church deliberately retained. Mass is conducted in French every Sunday at 11 a.m.
