Leduc County

Nisku is a hamlet and an industrial/business park in Alberta, Canada, within Leduc County. It has an elevation of 705 metres (2,313 ft). The hamlet and industrial/business park are located in census division No. 11 and in the federal riding of Edmonton—Wetaskiwin. The word Nisku means "goose" in Cree.The Hamlet of Nisku is located east of the intersection of Queen Elizabeth II Highway (Highway 2) and Highway 625, between the cities of Edmonton and Leduc. More specifically, the hamlet is located within an industrial/business park on the north side of Highway 625 (20 Avenue) between Sparrow Drive and the Canadian Pacific Kansas City railway.

Century Mile Racetrack and Casino is a casino and horse racing facility in Leduc County, Alberta, next to the Edmonton International Airport. It is one of two "A-level" horse racing venues in the province of Alberta, and the only "A-level" one-mile racetrack in western Canada. It is owned by Vici Properties and operated by Century Casinos. It opened on April 1, 2019, serving as the replacement for Northlands Park. Public transit to the facility is offered via Edmonton Transit Service route 747 to the airport, and Leduc Transit route 10 (connecting via Edmonton International Airport).

Edmonton—Leduc was a federal electoral district in Alberta, Canada, that was represented in the House of Commons of Canada from 2004 to 2015. As a result of changes to the Electoral Boundaries Readjustment Act, based on the 2011 census, the number of seats in the House of Commons of Canada increased from 308 to 338. Alberta's seat count increased from 28 to 34. The riding was redistributed into the new ridings of Edmonton Riverbend and Edmonton—Wetaskiwin.

Premium Outlet Collection EIA is a 39,800 m2 (428,000 sq ft) fully-enclosed outlet shopping mall in Leduc County just east of Edmonton International Airport. It opened on May 2, 2018, after being delayed from fall 2017. It was developed by Ivanhoé Cambridge and Simon Property Group. The mall has around 100 retailers and the main anchors are Designer Shoe Warehouse, H&M, Nike Factory Store, Old Navy Outlet, Urban Planet (formally Forever 21), Designer Depot, and Marshalls.

"In November, we closed our Aurora Sun facility and are now scaling back production at Aurora Sky to 25 per cent of its previous capacity," reads the statement.Aurora Sky and Aurora Sun are Canadian cannabis growing greenhouses and among the world's largest. Both were constructed by the firm Aurora Cannabis following the complete legalization of cannabis in Canada in 2018. The company calls them "Sky class" facilities. Aurora Sky is a 100,000 kg per year, 800,000 sq ft (74,000 m2) cannabis growing greenhouse on Edmonton International Airport property in Leduc County, Alberta. Construction broke ground in June 2017, and it was completed in January 2019.Construction on a 50% to 100% larger facility, Aurora Sun, at in Medicine Hat, was "paused" in late 2019. If construction were completed, Sun would become the largest cannabis greenhouse in the world.

East Vistas is an unincorporated community in central Alberta, Canada within Leduc County. It is located on the north side of Highway 625, 1.6 km (0.99 mi) west of Beaumont, 3.6 km (2.2 mi) northeast of Leduc, 3.2 km (2.0 mi) south of Edmonton, and 0.8 km (0.50 mi) east of the Nisku Industrial Business Park.

Edmonton International Airport (IATA: YEG, ICAO: CYEG), officially branded YEG Edmonton International Airport since 2022, is the primary air passenger and air cargo facility in the Edmonton Metropolitan Region of the Canadian province of Alberta. Designated as an international airport by Transport Canada and operated by Edmonton Airports, it is located 14 nautical miles (26 km; 16 mi) south southwest of Downtown Edmonton in Leduc County on Highway 2 opposite of the city of Leduc. The airport offers scheduled non-stop flights to major cities in Canada, the United States, Mexico, the Caribbean, Central America and Europe. It is a hub facility for Northern Alberta and Northern Canada. The airport has a catchment area encompassing Central and Northern Alberta, northern British Columbia, and Yukon, the Northwest Territories and western Nunavut. Total catchment area is 1.8 million residents. It is Canada's largest major airport by total land area, covering just under 28 km2 (7,000 acres), the 5th busiest airport by passenger traffic and 9th busiest by aircraft movements. It served 8,254,121 passengers in 2018. The airport serves as headquarters for two major Canadian airlines, passenger carrier Flair Airlines and cargo carrier Morningstar Air Express.

RAD Torque Raceway, formerly known as Capital City Raceway Park, Capital Raceway, Labatt Raceway, Budweiser Motorsports Park, and Castrol Raceway, is a multi-track auto racing facility located just south of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Located on land leased from the Edmonton International Airport, the clay oval opened in 1991 and the dragstrip opened in 1992. The facility went into receivership at the end of the 1997 season. It was purchased by Rob Reeves and ten other local racers and businessmen, and re-opened in 1998. Several of the investors have opted out since 2000 but remain as advertising sponsors of the facility. Soul track owner and operator Rob Reeves (and family) have stepped aside from their duties (1997-2023), as current owner Glen Stenabaugh has recently purchased the facility from Reeves following 26 years of ownership. The facility features an 12,000-seat ¼ mile NHRA-sanctioned dragstrip, and a 4,500-seat 3/8 mile clay oval. There is also a pro motocross track, a mini-sprint car track, and a 2.7 km road course which opened in 2013. The biggest event currently held at the facility is on the drag strip. The annual NHRA Mopar Rocky Mountain Nationals is the largest national event held in Canada. The second largest event at the raceway was held on the oval track. The Oil City Cup featured the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series from 2007 to 2015. In November 2021, the facility was renamed to RAD Torque Raceway in a five-year deal between the track's owners and Abbotsford-based RAD Torque Systems.

The Leduc-Nisku Economic Development Association (EDA) was an economic development partnership founded in 1984 that marketed Alberta's International Region. It dissolved at the end of 2019. The partnership included the founding members of Leduc County and the City of Leduc, as well as the nearby communities of Beaumont, Calmar, Devon, Thorsby and Warburg.

St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Separate Regional Division No. 38 is a separate Catholic school authority in Central Alberta and is more commonly referred to as STAR Catholic Schools (an acronym used for St. Thomas Aquinas Roman).

The Edmonton Soccer Dome is an air-supported structure located in Edmonton, Canada. Predominately used for soccer, the facility stands 25.6 m (84 ft) tall and features a FieldTurf CORE artificial turf playing surface that covers 12,541 m2 (134,990 sq ft), making it the largest sports dome in Canada. Construction on the dome began in October 2017 at a cost of CA$7 million, officially opening in October 2018.Along with its primary tenant Edmonton Scottish SC, the dome also served as the pre-season training facility for the former Canadian Premier League club FC Edmonton and as a temporary home for the ACAC's NAIT Ooks during the replacement of NAIT station. In addition to the facility and its grounds being named in the United 2026 FIFA World Cup bid as a potential team base camp in 2018, the dome has most notably hosted La Liga squad Real Valladolid, the Canadian men's national team, and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
