Monte Martica is a mountain of Lombardy, Italy. It has an elevation of 1,032 metres (3,386 ft). The waters of Monte Martica's river were channelled, thanks to a full hydraulic engineering project by banker Giuseppe Toeplitz to aliment the water attractions that he implanted in the gardens of his monumental Villa, Villa Toeplitz.

The Vellone–Sacro Monte funicular (Italian: Funicolare Vellone-Sacro Monte) is a funicular railway in the town of Varese in the Italian region of Lombardy. It connects the valley of the Vellone river with the village and sanctuary of Sacro Monte di Varese.The line first opened in May 1909, and remained in service until August 1953. Service was first reinstated in July 2000, before being suspended in 2003 and reinstated in 2005. It shared its lower station with the Vellone–Campo dei Fiori funicular until both lines closed in 1953. Birrificio Angelo Poretti is an Italian brewing company located in Varese. The brewery was founded in 1877 by Angelo Poretti in Induno Olona. In 1939, the company passed to the Bassetti family, who owned the Splügen brewery in Chiavenna. In 1982 the Carlsberg Group bought 50% of the shares from the company, followed in 1998 by a further 25%. In 2002, the Danish group acquired the remaining 25% and thus obtained full ownership of the company from Induno Olona.

Monte Scerrè, also known as Scerè, is a mountain of Lombardy, Italy, with an elevation of 796 metres (2,612 ft). It is located in the Varese Prealps, in the Province of Varese. It lies in the territory of the municipalities of Cunardo, Valganna and Bedero Valcuvia, with the hamlet of Mondonico situated about one hundred meters below the peak. Along with nearby Monte Mondonico, it divides the Valcuvia from the Valganna. The source of the Bevera, a small stream that flows into the Olona after eight kilometres, is located on Monte Scerrè. A chapel to the Madonna degli Alpini (Our Lady of the Alpini) and trenches and machine-gun posts of the Cadorna Line are located on the mountain.
