Cambridge American Cemetery and Memorial is a World War II American military war grave cemetery, located between the villages of Coton and Madingley, 7 km (4.3 mi) north-west of Cambridge, England. The cemetery, dedicated in 1956, contains 3,811 American war dead and covers 30.5 acres (12.3 ha). Cambridge American Cemetery is one of 26 overseas military cemeteries administered by the American Battle Monuments Commission (ABMC).The memorial is listed Grade II* on the National Heritage List for England.

Madingley Wood is a 15.4-hectare (38-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest near Madingley, on the western outskirts of Cambridge.The western part of this wood is ancient pedunculate oak, with other trees including ash and field maple, with hazel and hawthorn in the shrub layer. The newer eastern woodland is elm and ash. There is a variety of mosses. The site has been extensively used by Cambridge University for research and teaching.The site is private land with no public access, although a public footpath crosses the eastern end of the wood. The SSSI adjoins the site of Cambridge University's "800 Wood", a 10-hectare site planted with 15,000 trees to mark the 800th anniversary of the university in 2009.

The Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology (CEB) is one of the teaching and research departments at the University of Cambridge. The department trains undergraduate students and conducts original research at the interfaces between engineering, chemistry, biology and physics. It conducts research in collaboration with industrial partners. Its research programmes encompass sustainable reaction engineering, chemical product and process design, healthcare, measurement, and materials science. It conducts biotechnology research with chemical engineering at the science-engineering interface.

The Plant Breeding Institute was an agricultural research organisation in Cambridge in the United Kingdom between 1912 and 1987.

The North West Cambridge Development is a University of Cambridge site to the north west of Cambridge city centre in England. The development is meant to alleviate overcrowding and rising land prices in Cambridge. The first phase resulted from a £350 million investment by the university. The development opened to the public for the Open Cambridge event on 9 September 2017.

Huntingdon Road is a major arterial road linking central Cambridge, England with Junction 14 of the M11 motorway and the A14 northwest from the city centre. The road is designated the A1307, follows the route of the Roman Via Devana, and is named after the town of Huntingdon, northwest of Cambridge. At the southeastern end, the road links with Histon Road (B1049), Victoria Road (A1134) and Mount Pleasant. It continues as Castle Street, then Magdalene Street over the River Cam and Bridge Street, into the centre of the city. The University of Cambridge colleges Fitzwilliam College (front entrance on Storey's Way, south off Huntingdon Road), Girton College, and Murray Edwards College (formerly New Hall), are located off the road. Girton College is some distance from central Cambridge as a former women's college, just south of the village of Girton. West Cambridge is a university site to the west of Cambridge city centre in England. As part of the West Cambridge Master Plan, several of the University of Cambridge's departments have relocated to the West Cambridge site from the centre of town due to overcrowding. A number of other research institutions also have buildings on the site.

The University of Cambridge Primary School is a three-form primary school in Cambridge, UK. Funded by the local education authority, it is run as a free school by the University of Cambridge and is the first University Training School for primary in the UK. With a planned capacity of 630 pupils, the school is also used for teacher training and acts as a centre for educational research.

Girton College is one of the 31 constituent colleges of the University of Cambridge. The college was established in 1869 by Emily Davies and Barbara Bodichon as the first women's college in Cambridge. In 1948, it was granted full college status by the university, marking the official admittance of women to the university. In 1976, it was the first Cambridge women's college to become coeducational. The main college site, situated on the outskirts of the village of Girton, about 2+1⁄2 miles (4 kilometres) northwest of the university town, comprises 33 acres (13 hectares) of land. In a typical Victorian red-brick design, most was built by architect Alfred Waterhouse between 1872 and 1887. It provides extensive sports facilities, an indoor swimming-pool, an award-winning library and a chapel with two organs. There is an accommodation annexe, known as Swirles Court, situated in the Eddington neighborhood of the North West Cambridge development. Swirles opened in 2017 and provides up to 325 ensuite single rooms for graduates, and for second-year undergraduates and above. The college has a reputation for admitting a high number of UK state-school students, its community feel, and for musical talent. Several art collections are held on the main site, including People's Portraits, the millennial exhibition of the Royal Society of Portrait Painters, and an Egyptian collection containing the world's most reproduced portrait mummy. Among Girton's notable alumni are Queen Margrethe II of Denmark, former UK Supreme Court President Lady Hale, HuffPost co-founder Arianna Huffington, the comedian/author Sandi Toksvig, the comedian/broadcaster/GP Phil Hammond, the economist Joan Robinson, and the anthropologist Marilyn Strathern, also Mistress from 1998 to 2009. Its sister college is Somerville College, one of the two Oxford colleges to first admit women.

Traveller's Rest Pit is a 2.2-hectare (5.4-acre) geological Site of Special Scientific Interest on the western outskirts of Cambridge. It is a Geological Conservation Review site.This is described by Natural England as an important site dating to the Anglian ice age around 450,000 years ago. Ice wedges indicate a long period of permafrost. Non-marine molluscs and occasional large vertebrates indicate an open landscape. The site also has the most extensive collection of stone tools in Cambridgeshire. These are thought to date to the Cromerian Stage, which preceded the Anglian, and are of Chellean, Acheulian, Early Levalloisian and Clactonian types.The site has been filled in. Part of the site lies under the playing fields at Eddington, the remainder is private land with no public access.
