The Adams Avenue Historic District in Memphis, Tennessee is a 9 acres (3.6 ha) historic district which was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.It contains six contributing buildings: St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church (1852), at 190 Adams Ave. North Memphis Savings Bank (1901), at 110 Adams Ave. Shelby County Courthouse (1909), at 160 Adams Ave., which was designed by architects H. D. Hale and James Gamble Rogers, who both were students of the Ecole de Beaux Arts in Paris. It has sculpture groups in its four pediments, designed by J. Massey Rhind. Fire Engine House No. 1 (1910), at 118 Adams Ave. Memphis Police Station (1911), at 128 or 130 Adams Ave. Criminal Courts Building (1925), at 156 Washington Ave.

It was later inherited by his son, James Lee, Jr., a maritime attorney. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since October 2, 1978.

Calvary Episcopal Church, located at 102 North Second Street at Adams Avenue, in Memphis, Tennessee, in the United States, is an historic Episcopal church, founded August 6, 1832 by the Rev. Thomas Wright. The nave (consecrated May 12, 1844) is the oldest public building in continuous use in the city of Memphis and was designed by Calvary's second Rector, The Rev. Philip Alston. There were several later additions: a tower in 1848, the chancel in 1881, the Parish Hall in 1903, and the Education Building in 1992. As Calvary Episcopal Church and Parish House, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

In 1832, the city of Memphis, Tennessee deeded the church a site at the corner of Poplar Avenue and Third Street (now called B.B. King). The present building was built in 1884 and was designed by architect Edward Culliatt Jones and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

100 North Main is the tallest building in Memphis, Tennessee. At 430 feet, (131m) it has 37 floors and stands bordering Adams Avenue, North Second Street, and North Main. The building is currently totally vacant and closed to public entry. Plans for renovation to convert the building to hotel and apartments have repeatedly failed. The building stands abandoned and fenced off as of May 2016. The building has been condemned by Shelby County Environmental Court since late 2015 when it was discovered that chunks of concrete were falling from the building's exterior walls, as well as the elevators being inoperable and the fire safety systems not being up to code or functional. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2015.

The building's raised exhibition space spans over North Front Street. It was formerly known as the Memphis Cook Convention Center. Notable annual events include the Autozone national sales meeting, Memphis International Auto Show, and Mid-South Farm & Gin Show.The complex was designed by Haglund and Venable Architects, Ellers & Reaves (Structural), and Allen & Hoshall (Mechanical) in 1967. The Cannon Center for the Performing Arts is a 2,051-seat multi-purpose venue in Memphis, Tennessee. It hosts comedians, stage plays and children's theater, ballet, beauty pageants, concerts, and more. It is home to the Memphis Symphony Orchestra. It has previously hosted the Memphis mayor's swearing in ceremony, the Memphis Music Hall of Fame ceremony, and the Miss United States pageant. The center had a complete cosmetic update, along with the associated Cook Convention Center, in 2018.

The Dermon Building is a historic building in Memphis, Tennessee, listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was constructed in 1925 by Dave Dermon at a cost of around $800,000. From the time it was constructed, until 1983, it was the home of Dave Dermon Company, and Dave Dermon Insurance. 'Papa' sold the building in the 1930s, and although it has changed hands many times, it is still known as the Dermon Building today. It was listed on the National Register in recognition of its local architectural significance and its association with its builder Dave Dermon, who was a prominent Memphis real estate developer in the years between World War I and the Great Depression. In downtown Memphis, the building is second only to the Kress Building in displaying the colorful use of glazed architectural terra cotta from the 1920s.
