Southdale Center

The Galleria is an upscale shopping mall in Edina, Minnesota anchored by Williams-Sonoma Brand. This mall is located directly across the street from America's first enclosed mall with climate control, Southdale Center, which originally opened in 1956. The mall's anchor stores are Pottery Barn, Tiffany & Co., Marmi, Crave, Williams Sonoma, Pumpz, Coach, Eileen Fisher, Lili Salon Spa, Fawbush's, Ampersand Shops, Bluemercury, InVision, Hammer Made, J.Jill, The North Face, Sotheby's, Barnes & Noble, Arhaus, Chico's, Louis Vuitton, Design Within Reach, Allen Edmonds, Big Island, Tumi, Twill, J.McLaughlin, Free People, Sundance, Vineyard Vines, Gabberts, Crate & Barrel, Kate Spade New York, Tory Burch, and David Yurman. In 2004, the Galleria garnered attention in the shopping centre industry by implementing the then-novel idea of an electronic gift registry where registrants may specify items from multiple merchants at the center.In 2006, the Galleria received city council approval for an expansion project and site development. The Galleria's plan included an $85 million project attaching a Westin hotel.

Southdale Library is an American public library. It is located in Edina, Minnesota, United States. At 60,000 square feet, it is one of the largest in the Hennepin County Library system. The building is part of a complex that also houses district courts. The library offers materials in English, Chinese, Russian, Somali, Spanish, and Vietnamese.

Centennial Lakes Park is a 24-acre (97,000 m2) park and man-made pond located in the southeast portion of Edina, Minnesota, United States. The park features more than 1.5 miles (2.4 km) of paved pathways meandering around a 10-acre (40,000 m2) lake and interspersed with landscaped grounds, formal and informal seating areas, swinging benches and fountains. In addition, the park features a miniature golf course. There is a wide space for lawn bowling and paddleboats can be rented as well.

Edinborough Park is a 1-acre (4,000 m2), fully enclosed indoor park located in Edina, Minnesota. The park is operated by the City of Edina and contains a junior-Olympic size swimming pool, a 250-seat Greek-style amphitheater, a running track and fitness area, a huge indoor playground and a multi-purpose banquet room and play area. All of this amenities are connected by meandering pathways through the densely landscaped interior, which contains more than 6,000 plants, trees and flowers. Enclosing the park are condominiums as well as the Residence Inn by Marriott, both of which have indoor access to the pool/track and paid admission to the park.

South Education Center is a special education and alternative school in the 7400 block of South Penn Avenue in Richfield, Minnesota. It is part of Intermediate District 287. Eleven school districts from Minneapolis and environs send their students to the center. The population served is from pre-Kinder to 21 years of age. The school defines its upper-age limit as "Transition". In 2022 there were 200 students. In the early 2020s, the school served about 80% minority students. Federally, the school is classified as suburban.Built for 350 students, the $25.4 million building construction began in 2006, and has lockdown capability: classrooms and areas can be electronically isolated. The school features an Accessible Art Garden opened in 2012, and in 2020 the students and teachers extended their art practice to the school's fence. In 2016 the school phased out its use of metal detectors and instead provided with school safety coaches. The school trained its staff in "trauma, crisis and de-escalation".In September 2021, the Superintendent said that the school "serves some of the highest-needs students in the state". In 2022, she added that the school's focus is to provide "destigmatized mental health support". That same year, following the fatal shooting of a student outside the South Education Center, the school district reinstated the metal detectors it had retired in 2016 because of "concerns about criminalizing student behavior."

Wells Fargo Plaza is a high-rise office tower complex located at 7900 Xerxes Avenue in Bloomington, Minnesota in the United States. Standing at 300 feet with 24 stories of Class A rated office space, the main tower is considered one of the more dominant landmarks of Interstate 494. The tower connects to an auxiliary three story building through a central atrium. The tower was originally proposed in 1969 by the Rauenhorst Corporation. At the time, the plans included a revolving restaurant and a heliport. The Plaza was built in 1974. A turntable was installed for the revolving restaurant, but in 1977, the Rauenhorst Corporation converted the top floor into office space, as they could not find a restaurant tenant.It is currently the 56th tallest building in Minnesota, and was the tallest in Bloomington until 1988, when it was surpassed by the 8500 Tower. It earned a TOBY award in 2012 from the Building Owners and Managers Association of Minneapolis.After extensive renovations in 2010, the plaza was put up for sale in July 2015. DRA Advisors bought the property in November of that year, and currently owns the building through a joint fund with City Center Realty Partners.

Christ Presbyterian Church (CPC) in Edina, Minnesota, United States, is a congregation within ECO: A Covenant Order of Evangelical Presbyterians with 5,388 members in 2012. CPC was founded in 1956. During Roger Anderson's ministry, the church began to grow rapidly. CPC became the largest Presbyterian congregation in the upper Midwest, and one of the largest Presbyterian churches in the nation, with membership passing 1,700. The former senior pastor, John Crosby, led CPC to be a congregation of over 5,000. In 2006, the church celebrated the 50th anniversary. The church was a leader in the movement to establish ECO as a breakaway movement from the Presbyterian Church (USA).

Rasmussen University is a private for-profit university with multiple locations throughout the United States. It offers associate, bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees as well as certificates and diplomas in career-focused areas at 23 campuses in Minnesota, Illinois, North Dakota, Florida, Wisconsin, and Kansas with many programs offered online.Presently, the school has more than 100,000 graduates.

Armatage is a neighborhood in the Southwest community in Minneapolis. In the city's southwest corner, the neighborhood is bounded on the north by 54th Street West, on the east by Logan Avenue South, on the south by Highway 62, and on the west by the city limits at Xerxes Avenue South. The neighborhood grew around the school named for Maude Armatage, a distinguished community leader. Armatage is built up with mostly single-family housing and some multifamily buildings. The neighborhood also has a park with a community center.The neighborhood's retail space consists of individual neighborhood stores and is mostly along Penn Avenue South. The great majority of housing was built between 1949 and 1969, while about 5% of the dwellings were built before World War II. The Armatage Neighborhood Association (ANA) was founded in 1991 as part of a citywide effort to increase opportunities for residents to connect with the city and allow neighborhoods to address local concerns. ANA board members serve a one-year term commencing in May. The Armatage Summer Festival is an annual party in August at Armatage Park held in partnership with Armatage Park.

Chesterton Academy is a private, co-ed, Catholic secondary school in Hopkins, Minnesota, United States. It is located in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis. Launched in the fall of 2008 by Dale Ahlquist and Tom Bengtson, the school is centered on G. K. Chesterton’s ideas of integrated learning. It offers summer school programs, options for home-schooled students, and adult enrichment classes.Chesterton Academy has been recognized as one of the "Top 50 Catholic High Schools for excellence in Catholic identity, academics and civics education" by the Cardinal Newman Society.Chesterton Academy has several campuses around the United States. Besides Hopkins, there is one in Saint Paul, Omaha, Chicago, Milwaukee, and Buffalo, New York. There is also a campus in Italy, whose students have sometimes visited the Edina campus. Chesterton Academy also sometimes receives foreign exchange students.

Minnesota Independence College and Community (MICC) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit vocational and life skills training program for autistic and neurodivergent young adults. Since their founding in 1996 (formerly Minnesota Life College), MICC has remained dedicated to helping participants make successful transitions towards independent living and self-sufficiency. MICC believes that learning about life first-hand within a supportive community in a vibrant city is the best way to gain independence. This is done by offering an apartment living College Program that teaches important life, social, and vocational skills. Then, through the unique Community Program, participants are offered individualized, lifelong supports through services in social engagement, emotional support, safety, wellness, independent living skills, and careers. The programs attract a nationally diverse participant body in Richfield, Minnesota (a first-ring Minneapolis/St. Paul suburb).
