Midlothian () is a village in Bremen Township, Cook County, Illinois, United States. It is a southwestern suburb of Chicago. As of the 2020 census the population was 14,325.

The 1914 U.S. Open was the 20th U.S. Open, held August 20–21 at Midlothian Country Club in Midlothian, Illinois, a suburb southwest of Chicago. 21-year-old Walter Hagen held off amateur Chick Evans by a single stroke to win the first of his two U.S. Open titles. It was the first of Hagen's eleven major championships. Hagen opened with a U.S. Open record 68, a stroke ahead of defending champion Francis Ouimet. He led Tom McNamara by a shot after 36 holes, then took a two-stroke lead over McNamara into the final round, with Ouimet three back. McNamara and Ouimet, however, fell back with rounds of 83 and 78, respectively. That left the hard-charging Evans as the last player capable of catching Hagen. Evans needed a two on the 18th to tie, but his chip from the edge of the green came up just short. Hagen birdied the 18th for the fourth consecutive round, a feat unmatched by any U.S. Open champion before or since, and prevailed by one over Evans. Evans' 141 over the final 36 holes set a new U.S. Open record, but it was broken just two years later. Two-time champion John McDermott, age 22, tied for ninth in his sixth and final U.S. Open appearance.

Midlothian Country Club is a historic golf course in Midlothian, Illinois. It is located 18 miles (29 km) southwest of Chicago and built on 208 acres (84 ha) of land. It was designed by Herbert J. Tweedie and opened in 1898. In 2003 the course was updated by the Ken Killian, Richard P. Nugent and architect Bob Lohmann of Lohmann Golf Designs. In 2021-2022 the course was renovated by architect, Raymond Hearn to enhance 82 bunkers, lengthen tee boxes and many other enhancements which returned Midlothian Country Club to its championship caliber.

The 1931 Women's Western Open was a golf tournament held at Midlothian Country Club, the second edition of the event. June Beebe won the championship in match play competition by defeating Mrs. Melvin Jones in the final match, 3 and 2.

Crestwood Public Library is located in the village of Crestwood, Illinois, a south suburb of Chicago. The Crestwood Public Library was first located at the old Willow Creek School in District 129. The Willow Creek School was popular in the early 1900s, holding many elementary school graduations, but had become abandoned and neglected as the years passed. In 1969, the building was leased from School District 130, and renovated with the help of a number of volunteers and generous donations from the Village businessmen and organizations. The building was officially dedicated by Lt. Governor Paul Simon and operated by the Village residents. Known as "The Little School House", it served as the Village library until January 16, 1973, when 2/3 of the building and a total of 4,000 books were destroyed due to a suspected act of arson. The library reopened two more times following the fire: once in November 1973 in the Public Works Building, and a second time in April 1974 in the Council Chambers in the Crestwood Village Hall.It remained there for a period of time until it moved once again to a more established location on 135th street between Central Avenue and Cicero Avenue in August 1987. The first renovation and expansion of this building was completed in January 1995. There are, however, current plans to make more renovation and expansion changes to the library in 2011. The Crestwood Public Library is a member of the Metropolitan Library System and enables registered patrons to borrow books, films, music, and other materials. There are also a variety of programs for children and families to participate in and attend.

The George R. Thorne House is a historic house at 7 Cottage Row in Midlothian, Illinois. The house was built in 1899 as a summer home for George R. Thorne, who co-founded Montgomery Ward and founded the adjacent Midlothian Country Club. Howard Van Doren Shaw, a Chicago architect known for designing large homes for wealthy and prominent people, designed the house. The house's exterior blends the Tudor Revival and Shingle styles, while its interior is inspired by the Arts and Crafts Movement. Its design features three shingled gables above the long front porch, a brick parapet in front of a half-timbered gable at the southwest corner, and a shingled block with brick piers and limestone detailing at the southeast corner. Architect N. Max Dunning renovated the house in 1914 to convert it to a year-round residence.The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places on May 2, 1997.

Midlothian is a station on Metra's Rock Island District line located in Midlothian, Illinois. The station is located at 3750 West 147th Street (IL 83) Midlothian is 18.4 miles (29.6 km) away from LaSalle Street Station, the northern terminus of the Rock Island District line. In Metra's zone-based fare structure, Midlothian is located in zone D. As of 2018, Midlothian is the 56th busiest of Metra's 236 non-downtown stations, with an average of 938 weekday boardings.As of 2022, Midlothian is served by 42 trains (21 in each direction) on weekdays, by 21 trains (10 inbound, 11 outbound) on Saturdays, and by 16 trains (eight in each direction) on Sundays and holidays. Midlothian is located at grade level and consists of two side platforms which serve two tracks. There is a station house on the inbound platform where tickets can be purchased. Parking is available at the station along 147th Street as well as Waverly Avenue, Prairie Avenue, Hamlin Avenue, and Abbottsford Road.

Robbins is a village southwest of Chicago in Cook County, Illinois, United States. The population was 4,629 at the 2020 census. Darren E. Bryant is the current mayor of Robbins. It is the second oldest African-American incorporated town in the north following Brooklyn, Illinois and was home to the country’s first black-owned airport.

Burr Oak Cemetery is a cemetery located in Alsip, Illinois, United States, a suburb southwest of Chicago, Illinois. Established in 1927, Burr Oak was one of the few early Chicago cemeteries focused on the needs of the African-American community, it is the final resting place of many black celebrities, including Chicago blues musicians, athletes, and other notables.

Bremen High School, BHS, or simply Bremen is a public four year high school located in Midlothian, Illinois. It is the first school built as part of Bremen Community High School District 228 which also includes Tinley Park High School, Hillcrest High School and Oak Forest High School. Bremen High School was opened in 1953 along with the creation of Bremen High School District 228 to serve students in the newly developing areas at the time. Bremen High School is named after the township in which it is located, Bremen Township.

Bremen Township is one of 29 townships in Cook County, Illinois, USA. As of the 2020 census, its population was 107,149 and it contained 42,611 housing units. It was organized in 1850 and is located southwest of Chicago in southern Cook County. An administrative office for Bremen Township is located at 16361 South Kedzie Parkway, Markham, Illinois. It is named after the State of the same name in Germany as this area was settled by primarily German settlers.
