Åråsen Stadion

Lillestrøm idrettspark, colloquially known as Lillestrøm stadion, is a sports facility located at Lillestrøm in Skedsmo, Norway. The main venue is Romerike friidrettsstadion, an athletics stadium with eight all-weather running tracks. It has multiple football pitches, including one with artificial turf and one with gravel. The park features of two arenas, LSK-Hallen with a full-size artificial football pitch and Skedsmohallen for indoor sports. The venue is located adjacent to Åråsen Stadion, the home ground of Lillestrøm SK. The main tenants for Lillestrøm idrettspark are Flisbyen BK and Focus FK in football, and Strømmen IF, Lørenskog FIL and Minerva IS in athletics. The stadium opened on 6 June 1920 and was the main venue for Lillestrøm SK until 1951. The athletics stadium opened two years later. In 2004, the artificial turf pitch was laid and in 2007 a new athletics venue and LSK-Hallen opened.

LSK-Hallen is an indoor football arena in Lillestrøm, Norway. It is owned, used, and operated by Lillestrøm Sportsklubb. It has a capacity of 3,000 people.The women's football team LSK Kvinner FK uses the arena as their home ground.

Skedsmohallen is an indoor arena located in Lillestrøm, Norway. It was built between 1981 and 1982. Today it is primarily used for handball, but was used extensively for concerts in the 1980s and early 1990s. Its viability as a concert venue deteriorated with the opening of the Oslo Spektrum in 1990. Notable artists that performed at Skedsmohallen include Billy Idol, Eric Clapton, Alice Cooper, Santana, Kiss and Def Leppard.

Nor-Shipping is a maritime trade fair that has been held in Norway biennially since 1965. It is one of the leading international shipping events and an important meeting place and forum for the shipping industry. It "remains one of the most pivotal and well-attended events of the marine and offshore calendar." The other major international shipping fairs are Posidonia in Athens and the Shipbuilding, Machinery and Marine Technology (SMM) show in Hamburg.The week-long fair is organized by Norges Varemesse (Norway Trade Fairs) and held in Lillestrøm near Oslo in May or June. It features exhibitions, conferences, debates, product launches and social occasions. The fair attracts shipowners, ship builders, classification societies, technology suppliers, shipbrokers, innovators, ship financiers and industry leaders. During the trade fair week, the fair also presented an exhibition called Ocean Talent Camp (previously Nor-Shipping Campus) in the Oslo city center. It promotes careers within the industry and was visited by about 10,000 students at the 2013 event.In 2017 there were around 15,500 visitors at the event, plus 900 exhibiting companies from 48 countries, 19 of which had their own national pavilions.

The HyNor-project was a nationally supported project which purpose was to facilitate and coordinate the introduction of hydrogen as a fuel in Norway, running from 2003 to 2012. Toward the commercial introduction of hydrogen vehicles in 2015, the HyNor-project focused on acquiring an early pre-commercial fleet of hydrogen vehicles, and keeping a close dialogue with the leading car manufacturers and other similar initiatives in the Nordic countries and around the world.

Institute for Energy Technology (IFE) was established in 1948 as the Institute for Nuclear Energy (IFA). The name was changed in 1980. Its main office is at Kjeller, Norway, and slightly under half of the institute’s activities are based in Halden. In Halden IFE is host to the international OECD Halden Reactor Project, with 18 member states. IFE conducts research in the following areas: energy, environmental technology, physics, materials science, petroleum technology, nuclear safety and reliability and man-machine systems (man-technology-organisation). IFE operates the only two existing nuclear reactors in Norway. Both are dedicated to research. The JEEP II reactor at Kjeller is used for basic research in physics and material science, as well as production of radiopharmaceuticals. The Halden Reactor is used for research in materials technology and nuclear fuel safety. The Institute has approximately 600 employees in Halden and at Kjeller. The President is Nils Morten Huseby.

Akershus University College (Norwegian: Høgskolen i Akershus, HiAk) was a university college located in Kjeller, Norway. The institution is one of 25 public university colleges owned and run by the Norwegian state. It last had about 3,900 students and a staff of approximately 300. It merged with Oslo University College on 1 August 2011 to create Oslo and Akershus University College. The college was divided into four faculties: Faculty of Nursing Education Faculty of Product Design Faculty of Social Education Faculty of Technical and Vocational Teacher Education

Lillestrøm Station (Norwegian: Lillestrøm stasjon) is a railway station serving the town of Lillestrøm in Skedsmo, Norway. Located on the Gardermoen Line and the Trunk Line as well as being the western terminus of the Kongsvinger Line, it is the main transport hub of the eastern parts of the Greater Oslo area, and all trains east of Oslo – local, regional, airport express, and long-distance express – call at Lillestrøm.

The University Graduate Center (UNIK) is a research foundation at Kjeller in Norway. UNIK has four focus areas Network, Information Security and Signalprocessing for Communication, Electronics and Photonics Cybernetics and Industrial Mathematics Energy and the EnvironmentUNIK was founded in 1987 in order to foster the co-operation between the research institutes at Kjeller and to support master and PhD education. UNIK has a supplementary education as compared to the University of Oslo UiO and the Norwegian University of Science and Technology NTNU, which is based on the collaboration with the Research Institutes at Kjeller. The core founding members were FFI, IFE, Telenor R&I, and UiO. NTNU joined in 1995. Focus of UNIK is towards applications, thus the strong relation to the Institutes at Kjeller and other relevant industry. UNIK's main cooperation partner today is FFI. Telenor R&I, Kongsberg Defense Communications, Thales and Thrane Norway support education at UNIK through their staff members. In 2007 UNIK started together with IFE and the University College of Akershus (HiAk) a study within Energi and Environment. UNIK is co-located with NORSAR at Kjeller close to Lillestrøm, 25 km east of Oslo. The building hosts the first termination of the ARPANET in Europe, back in 1973. The start of the Internet in Europe and the mobile phone development is closely related to people teaching at UNIK: Pål Spilling, who brought the Internet to Europe Torleiv Maseng, who contributed to the development of GSM Øivind Kure, who influenced the research directions of Telenor as being research director and who is a partner in the Q2S center of excellency at NTNU

Lillestrøm is a municipality in Akershus county. It is located in the traditional district of Romerike. With a population of 85,757 inhabitants, it is the fourth most populated municipality in Viken. It was founded on 1 January 2020 as a merger between former municipalities Fet, Skedsmo and Sørum. The administrative centre of the municipality is the town of Lillestrøm. The town of Lillestrøm is a part of the Oslo metropolitan area.

Lillestrøm is a town located some 18 km (11 mi) east-northeast of Oslo, the capital city of Norway. With a population of 14,379 inhabitants (18,805 including Kjeller), it is the administrative centre of Lillestrøm Municipality in Viken County, and lies within the traditional district of Romerike.

Kjeller Airfield (Norwegian: Kjeller flyplass; ICAO: ENKJ) is a military and general aviation aerodrome located in Kjeller in Skedsmo in Viken county, Norway. Situated on the outskirts of Lillestrøm, it is 9 nautical miles (17 km; 10 mi) east northeast of Oslo, making it the aerodrome closest to the capital. The field has a single 1,735-meter (5,692 ft) asphalt runway numbered 12–30, with a declared distance of 1,357-meter (4,452 ft). The airport is owned by the Norwegian Defence Logistics Organization, while civilian operations are carried out by Kjeller Aero Senter. The main military activity is the Aerospace Industrial Maintenance Norway, the main maintenance facility for the Royal Norwegian Air Force (RNoAF). The aerodrome became the first in Norway when it was established in September 1912 to serve the Norwegian Army Air Service. The break-out of World War I resulted in a major expansion of the airfield, followed by military aircraft factory Kjeller Flyfabrikk moving to Kjeller in 1916. Gradual expansions took place in the following decades. The airfield was occupied by the Luftwaffe on 10 April 1940, resulting in Junkers, Daimler-Benz, BMW and Brinker Eisenwerk establishing various maintenance facilities. After liberation in 1945, the RNoAF converted Kjeller to a maintenance base and placed the Air Force Logistics Command there from 1952. Runway expansions took place in 1951, 1959 and 1975.
