Matatirtha is a village and former Village Development Committee that is now part of Chandragiri Municipality in Kathmandu District in Province No. 3 of central Nepal. At the time of the 1991 Nepal census it had a population of 2,799 living in 506 households. Its population has now grown to 5,982 spread over 1,314 households. Santosh Khadka was elected as Ward Chairman of Matatirtha through a local election.

Satungal is a village and former Village Development Committee that is now part of Chandragiri Municipality in Kathmandu District in Province No. 3 of central Nepal. Satungal is also known as Satyapur ( In Newar Language). At the time of the 1991 Nepal census it had a population of 2,730 people living in 464 households. By the time of the 2001 Nepal census the population had grown to 5,834, spread over 1,375 households. At that time 5,173 of the village population were literate - a literacy rate of 88.7%.

Kirtipur (Nepal Bhasa: किपू Kipoo) is an ancient city of Nepal. The Newars are the natives of Kipoo (Kirtipur) that is believed to be derived from Kirati King Yalamber. It is located in the Kathmandu Valley 5 km south-west of the city of Kathmandu. Bagh Bhairab Temple is a historic Hindu temple dedicated to Bagh Bhairab, an incarnation of Shiva as a tiger. It is located in Kirtipur, Bagmati Province, Nepal and dates back to the 16th century. The residents of Kiritpur believe that Bagh Bhairab protects the town. Bagh Bhairab Temple features the swords used by King of Gorkha (later King of Nepal) Prithvi Narayan Shah's army during the Battle of Kirtipur.
