Sheshnarayan

The Sheshnarayan Temple is an ancient Hindu temple complex in Sheshnarayan Village Development Committee (VDC). The site is near the ancient town of Pharping, which lies approximately 20 kilometers south-west of Kathmandu, Nepal.

Chalnakhel is a village and former Village Development Committee that is now part of Dakshinkali Municipality in Kathmandu District in Province No. 3 of central Nepal. At the time of the 2011 Nepal census it had a population of 4,365 living in 1,005 households.

Khokana is a former Village Development Committee (VDC) which has been merged with the neighbouring VDC's of Bungamati, Chhampi, Dukuchhap, Sainbu and other 38 VDC's to form the Metropolitan City of Lalitpur in Lalitpur District in the Bagmati Zone of central Nepal. At the time of the 1991 Nepal census, Khokana had a population of 4258 living in 699 individual households. According to 2011 Nepal census, Khokana had a population of 4927 living in 1056 individual households.Khokana, a traditional and small Newari village about 8 kilometers south of Kathmandu (on the outskirts of Patan). Khokana is mainly known for the production of rich mustard oil since ancient time. It was also the first town in Nepal to be lit with electricity in 1911 AD during the reign of Rana Prime Minister Chandra Shamsher. Khokana has been nominated to be listed as a Unesco World Heritage, representing a vernacular village and its mustard-oil seed industrial heritage.

Talku Dudechaur is a village and former Village Development Committee that is now part of Dakshinkali Municipality in Kathmandu District in Province No. 3 of central Nepal. At the time of the 2011 Nepal census it had a population of 2858 and had 648 households in it.

Pharping (or Phamting) is a small Newar town lying above the Bagmati river on the southern edge of the Kathmandu valley, about 23 km from the capital. It is now part of the Dakshinkali Municipality. The town and its environs is the site of several important Buddhist pilgrimage sites as well as a number of Buddhist monasteries and meditation retreat centres. About 1 km south of the town is the Dakshinkali Temple, one of the main Hindu temples of Nepal dedicated to the mother goddess Kali. Pharping is also the site of the oldest hydroelectric power station in Nepal which is now a living museum.

Pharping Hydro Power Project (Nepali: फर्पिङ लघु जलविद्युत् परियोजना) is the first hydro-power project of Nepal and second of Asia. It is situated in Kathmandu district. In 2010, it was declared a Living Museum by government of Nepal and was open for public.

Bungamati (Newar: बुंगमती), is a settelment in Lalitpur Metropolitan Region, Ward No. 22 in Lalitpur District, Nepal. Bungamati is a Newar town on a spur of land overlooking the Bagmati River The first stele of the Licchavi king Amshuverma was found in Bungamati and dated to 605. It contains the earliest mention of the Kailashkut Bhawan palace.

Karya Binayak (कार्यविनायक मन्दिर) is a Hindu temple located in Bungamati, Lalitpur District at about 10 kilometres south of Kathmandu.

The Chobhar Dry Port (Nepali: चोभार सुख्खा बन्दरगाह) is a dry port in Kirtipur, Bagmati Province, Nepal.In January 2019, then prime minister KP Sharma Oli laid the foundation stone for the port. The dry port spans over 11.77 hectares of land and it is estimated that it will cost 1.70 billion Nepalese rupees (NPR). The Chobhar Dry Port is being built on the land that was previously used by Himal Cement Factory.In August 2021, it was reported that the port was ready to begin its operation. The Chobhar Dry Port was initially met with protests by the locals as they believed that the construction of the port will eventually displace them.

Machhegaun (Sanskrit: मच्छेगाऊं) is a village and former Village Development Committee that is now part of Chandragiri Municipality in Kathmandu District in Province No. 3 of central Nepal. At the time of the 1991 Nepal census it had a population of 2,871 .

Jal Binayak (Nepali: जलविनायक) is a Hindu Temple of Lord Ganesh located in the Chobhar, central part of Kathmandu District, Nepal. The Jal Binayak temple is the most important Ganesh shrine of the central region Kathmandu. It is one of the four Binayak of Kathmandu Valley.
