National Archives of Chile

The National Library of Chile (Spanish: Biblioteca Nacional de Chile) is the national library of Chile. It is located on the Avenida Libertador General Bernardo O'Higgins in Santiago, in a building completed in 1925, though its history reaches to the early nineteenth century before it was relocated to its current home.

Santa Lucia (in Spanish: Saint Lucy), is a station on the Santiago Metro in Santiago, Chile. It is underground, between the stations Universidad de Chile and Universidad Católica on the same line. It is located on Avenida Libertador General Bernardo O'Higgins, in the commune of Santiago. The station was opened on 31 March 1977 as part of the extension of the line from La Moneda to Salvador.It has a regular flow of passengers that increases during the Metro's rush hours (mornings and afternoons). The station is in a mix of residential, business and educational zones. In the immediate surroundings of the station, to the northeast is Santa Lucia Hill, and just by the North exit also is the National Library of Chile, a National Monument building located along the North sidewalk of Avenida Libertador General Bernardo O'Higgins. The station also is to the Avenida Miraflores and Avenida Santa Rosa, this latter being a major traffic axis.

Santa Lucía Hill (Spanish: Cerro Santa Lucía), also known in Mapuche as Huelén Hill (Spanish: Cerro Huelén), is a small hill in the centre of Santiago, Chile. It is situated between Alameda del Libertador Bernardo O'Higgins in the south, Santa Lucía Street in the west and Victoria Subercaseaux on the east. An adjacent metro station is named after it. The hill has an altitude of 629 m and a height of 69 m over the surrounding area. The hill is the remnant of a volcano 15 million years old.The hill comprises a 65,300 square metre park adorned with ornate facades, stairways and fountains. At the highest point there is a viewpoint popular with tourists visiting the city.

The Teatro Municipal, National Opera of Chile is the most important stage theatre and opera house in Santiago, Chile.

The Argentine ambassador in Santiago de Chile is the official representative of the Government in Buenos Aires to the Government of Chile.

The San Francisco Church (Spanish: Iglesia de San Francisco) is a Franciscan church on Avenida Libertador General Bernardo O'Higgins, in the downtown of Santiago de Chile. The church, along with the adjacent convent, is one of the oldest colonial-era buildings in the country. It has been resistant to about 15 earthquakes of magnitude over 7.

Museo Colonial (English: Colonial Museum) is a historical, cultural and religious museum located in Santiago, Chile. The museum explores the colonial period of Chile and South America, with a collection of paintings, sculpture, furniture and other objects. Many of the pieces are religious, and were created in Peru, the former colonial capital. The museum also features a genealogical tree of the Franciscan Order which is "gigantic" in size and includes 644 miniature portraits.The museum is housed in the convent adjacent to San Francisco Church.

Londres 38 is a building that was used by the National Intelligence Directorate (DINA) as a detention and torture center for opponents of Augusto Pinochet's dictatorship. The facility is located in downtown Santiago, Chile, and was known in DINA's jargon by the code name Yucatán.

The Centenario Tower (Spanish: Torre Centenario) is a skyscraper office building in Santiago, the capital of Chile. It was finished in 2000 and has 31 floors, of which 5 are basement. It has a floor area of 48,500m² and a height of 371 feet (112 metres).

Iglesia de San Agustín — Our Lady of Grace, commonly known as Church of St Augustine or Templo de San Agustín, is owned by the Order of Saint Augustine. It is a Catholic church, located at the southeast corner of Agustinas and Estado streets, in downtown Santiago, Chile.

The Basilica de la Merced is a basilica located in Santiago, Chile. It was founded by the Order of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Mercy and constructed in 1795. It is a Chilean National Monument. It is Neo-Renaissance in architecture and has a small museum with religious objects and art, including a collection of pieces from Easter Island. The collection includes a rongorongo tablet, one of 29 left in the world.

Miguel de Cervantes University (Spanish: Universidad Miguel de Cervantes) is a private university located in Santiago de Chile and was established on 1996. This university had around 853 students in 2010. It is accredited by Chile's National Accreditation Commission (CNA-Chile).Founded in 1996, it was officially recognized as a university on November 27, 1997, by Exempt Decree No. 1169 of the Ministry of Education. Its only campus is located at calle Mac Iver 370, Santiago commune near Metro stations Santa Lucia (Line 1), Bellas Artes and Plaza de Armas (Line 5). It is located within the historic center of the city. The university became autonomous on January 15, 2009.Miguel de Cervantes University is one of eight Chilean universities that are not accredited by the National Accreditation Commission (CNA-Chile). Moreover, it is in 56th and last place in América Economía magazine's 2012 ranking of Chilean universities. It is not mentioned in the El Mercurio 2006 ranking of universities and QS World University Rankings 2012. It is ranked 69th in Chile (15596th worldwide) in the "Webometrics Ranking of World Universities" conducted by the Cybermetrics Lab, a research group belonging to the Spain's Consejo Superior de Investigaciones CientíficasThe university currently offers seven programs leading to a master's degree and three in the areas of Commercial Engineering, Social Work and Political Science. The university has 113 faculty members.
