East Gosford is a suburb of the Central Coast region of New South Wales, Australia, located immediately south-east of Gosford's town centre. It is part of the Central Coast Council local government area, and occupies an area previously inhabited by the Guringai (Wanangine) People. East Gosford is named after the Archibald Acheson, 2nd Earl of Gosford, with whom New South Wales Governor George Gipps served in Canada. Archibald Acheson was appointed Governor of British North America in 1835, and conducted a royal commission into the state of affairs in Lower Canada.At the 2016 census East Gosford had a population of 4,238 people.

St Edward's College is an independent Catholic secondary day school for boys, located in East Gosford, in the Central Coast region of New South Wales, Australia. The school was founded by the Congregation of Christian Brothers in 1953, who continue to run the school. Colloquially referred to as Eddies, the College caters for boys from Year 7 to Year 12. St Edward's is the only Catholic independent all-boys' secondary school located on the NSW Central Coast. It has approximately 1,000 students and 100 staff.

Gosford is a city on Brisbane Water and is the administrative centre of the Central Coast Council local government area in the heart of the Central Coast region of New South Wales, Australia. Gosford is known for sailing and stunning views along the foreshore of Brisbane Water and the surrounding valleys. It is located 77km north of Sydney and 86km south of Newcastle. The city centre is situated at the northern extremity of Brisbane Water, an extensive northern branch of the Hawkesbury River estuary and Broken Bay. The suburb is the administrative centre and central business district of the Central Coast region, which is the third largest urban area in New South Wales after Sydney and Newcastle. Following its formation from the combination of the previous Gosford City Council and Wyong Shire Councils, Gosford has been earmarked as a vital CBD spine under the NSW Metropolitan Strategy. The population of the Gosford area was 169,053 in 2016.

Central Coast Stadium (known originally as Grahame Park), known commercially as Industree Group Stadium is a sports venue in Gosford, on the Central Coast of New South Wales, Australia. The stadium is home to the Central Coast Mariners association football club which competes in the A-League. The stadium also hosts rugby league and rugby union fixtures on an ad hoc basis as well as other major social events. The stadium was originally designed to be the home stadium for the North Sydney Bears rugby league football club. The stadium is rectangular and is unusual in that seating is located on only three sides of the ground. The southern end is open giving filtered views of Brisbane Water through a row of palm trees. With an all seater capacity of 20,059 it was as of 2012 the second smallest stadium in the A-League. It is within walking distance of the Gosford CBD and Gosford railway station. The Central Coast Leagues Club and League Club Field are adjacent to the stadium, across Dane Drive.

Gosford railway station is located on the Main Northern line in New South Wales, Australia. It serves the Central Coast city of Gosford, opening on 15 August 1887.Between January 1960 and April 1982, Gosford was the northern extremity of the electrified network. The station buildings were demolished and replaced by the current structure which opened on 10 September 1993.An extensive network of stabling sidings exist north and south of the station. A functioning water crane is located at the northern end of Platform 2 and is used occasionally by passing steam locomotives.

Established in 1928, the school enrolled approximately 1,070 students in 2018, from Year 7 to Year 12, of whom two percent identified as Indigenous Australians and forty percent were from a language background other than English. The school is operated by the NSW Department of Education; the principal is Michael Smith.

North Gosford is a south-eastern suburb of the Central Coast region of New South Wales, Australia immediately north-east of Gosford's central business district. It is part of the Central Coast Council local government area. North Gosford is notable for the region's largest private hospital and for Laycock Street Theatre, the region's principal theatre for live dramatic and musical theatre.

The Central Coast Council is a local government area in the Central Coast region of New South Wales, Australia. It is adjacent to the Pacific Highway, Central Coast Highway, the Northern railway line and the Pacific Ocean. The council was formed on 12 May 2016 following the merger of the City of Gosford and Wyong Shire Councils. The council comprises an area of 1,681 square kilometres (649 sq mi) and is bounded to the east by the Tasman Sea, to the south by Broken Bay and the Hawkesbury River, and to the west by the Yengo National Park northwards to Bucketty before heading eastward along George Downes Drive, encompassing the Olney State Forest and crossing the Pacific Motorway, meeting the southern edge of Lake Macquarie at Mannering Park and eventually reaching the coast north of Moonee. The Central Coast Council has over 40 beaches and over 90 kilometres (56 mi) of coastline. As at the 2021 census the council area had an estimated population of 346,596. The Central Coast Council has two administrative chambers that is located in Gosford and Wyong. The Mayor of the Central Coast Council is Lawrie McKinna who is part of the Independent Team Central Coast political party since 8 October 2024, and the Deputy Mayor of the council is Douglas Eaton, an Independent, since 8 October 2024.
