Lannion

Trégor (French pronunciation: [tʁeɡɔʁ]; Breton: Treger, [ˈtreːɡər]), officially the Land of Trégor (French: pays du Trégor; Breton: Bro-Dreger, [broˈdreːɡər]) is one of the nine traditional provinces of Brittany, in its northwestern area. It comprises the western part of the Côtes-d'Armor and a small part of the northeast of Finistère, as far as the river Morlaix. Its capital is Tréguier, the French translation of the Breton word Landreger (from lann, holy place, and Dreger, Treger with consonitic mutation, meaning Tregor). Since the Morlaix was the boundary between the Bishopric of Léon and the Bishopric of Tréguier, the town was divided between the two. On 27 January 1790, after the French Revolution, the Breton deputies rejected the request by the residents of Morlaix to be integrated in the same department as Saint-Brieuc. They instead established the northern boundary of the department at the Douron. So was constituted by division of the diocese of Tréguier, a Trégor which is called Finisterrian or Morlaisian. Traditionally, Tregorrois Breton is spoken here, which shows some dialectal differences.

The arrondissement of Lannion is an arrondissement of France in the Côtes-d'Armor department in the Brittany region. It has 57 communes. Its population is 99,903 (2016), and its area is 904.4 km2 (349.2 sq mi).

Its population was 99,607 in 2017, of which 19,880 in Lannion proper.

École nationale supérieure des sciences appliquées et de technologie de Lannion (ENSSAT) a French engineering College created in 1986. The school trains engineers in four specialties: Computer Science, Photonics, Digital Systems, and Multimedia Computer Science & Networks. Located in Lannion, the ENSSAT is a public higher education institution. The school is a member of the University of Rennes 1.

Gare de Lannion is a railway station serving the town Lannion, Côtes-d'Armor department, western France. It is the northern terminus of the Plouaret–Lannion railway. The railway line between Plouaret and Lannion has been electrified in 2000. A new station has been built in Lannion.

The Château de Kerduel, known as Kastell Kerduel in Breton, is a castle off the coast of northern Brittany, in the commune of Pleumeur-Bodou and the wider Canton of Tréguier. The castle and chapel are situated next to a small stream and lake, and the castle grounds have a large forest surrounding the property. The castle used to have fortified walls, but like many castles, they were removed over time.

Saint-Quay-Perros (French pronunciation: [sɛ̃ kɛ pɛʁɔs] ; Breton: Sant-Ke-Perroz) is a commune in the Côtes-d'Armor department of Brittany in northwestern France.

The Château de Tonquédec is a castle in the commune of Tonquédec in the Côtes d'Armor département of France. It is one of the most visited monuments in the Côtes d'Armor.One of the most impressive French medieval sites, this château-fort, stands in a pleasant green forested countryside about 8.5 km (5.3 mi) south of Lannion. The present castle was built in the 15th century, on the site of an earlier 12th-century castle.
