William A. Shine Great Neck South High School (commonly Great Neck South, South High School, or GNSHS) is a four-year public high school located in the Lake Success village of Great Neck, New York. The school serves students in grades 9 through 12 and is in the Great Neck school district. Great Neck South is one of three high schools in the Great Neck school district, the others being Great Neck North High School and Great Neck Village High School. Great Neck South offers its 1,222 students academic acceleration, along with special education classes for students with disabilities. The school opened in 1958 and was named Great Neck South High School until 2006.As of the 2021-22 school year, the school had an enrollment of 1,222 students and 114.75 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 10.65:1. There were 217 students (17.8% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 27 (2.2% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.

It is a 807-bed, non-profit tertiary care teaching hospital serving the greater New York metropolitan area. The 48-acre (19 ha) campus is 15 miles (24 km) east of Manhattan, on the border of Queens and Nassau Counties, in Glen Oaks, Queens and Lake Success, New York, respectively. LIJMC has three components: Long Island Jewish Hospital, Steven & Alexandra Cohen Children's Medical Center of New York, and The Zucker Hillside Hospital. Long Island Jewish Hospital is a 587-bed tertiary adult care hospital with advanced diagnostic and treatment technology, and modern facilities for medical, surgical, dental and obstetrical care. As a primary teaching hospital for the Zucker School of Medicine (along with North Shore University Hospital) and the Hofstra Northwell School of Nursing and Physician Assistant Studies Island Campus for the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, LIJMC's graduate medical education program is one of the largest in New York State, and programs are in divisions headed by full-time faculty. LIJ's full-time staff includes more than 500 physicians, who supervise care in all major specialties and participate in the medical center's teaching and research programs. The medical center is located on the southeast side of North Shore Towers. The center was founded in 1954 by a group of nine philanthropists, including Jacob H. Horwitz.

Steven and Alexandra Cohen Children's Medical Center at Long Island Jewish Medical Center (CCMC), formerly Schneider Children's Hospital and North Shore-LIJ Children's Hospital is a pediatric acute care children's teaching hospital located in New Hyde Park, New York. The hospital has 202 pediatric beds and is affiliated the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. The hospital is a member of Northwell Health and is the only children's hospital in the network. The hospital provides comprehensive pediatric specialties and subspecialties to infants, children, teens, and young adults aged 0–21 throughout Long Island and New York state. Cohen Children's also sometimes treats adults that require pediatric care. Cohen Children's Medical Center also features the largest ACS verified Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center in the region. Cohen Children's Medical Center is the largest provider of pediatric health services in New York state. The hospital is attached to Long Island Jewish Medical Center and adjacent to the Ronald Mcdonald House of Long Island.

Cornell-Van Nostrand House, also known as Schumacher House, is a historic home located at New Hyde Park in Nassau County, New York. It was moved to its present location on the grounds of Clinton G. Martin Park in 1952. It is a two-story, architecturally mixed wood-frame building containing an early 19th-century section, two mid-19th-century sections, and an early 20th-century addition. It is arranged in a "T" shaped plan on a concrete foundation with brick above grade. It features a single height portico with square Doric order columns and a simple entablature, built about 1850.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007. The house is currently in a state of advanced disrepair, boarded up and exposed to the elements via numerous holes in the roof.

The Police Officer Joseph P. Olivieri Jr. Memorial Bridge is a highway overpass in North Hills in the Town of North Hempstead in Nassau County, on Long Island, in New York, United States. It carries New Hyde Park Road over the Long Island Expressway (Interstate 495). It is named in honor of Joseph P. Olivieri Jr., a police officer who was killed nearby on the line of duty.
