William A. Shine Great Neck South High School (commonly Great Neck South, South High School, or GNSHS) is a four-year public high school located in the Lake Success village of Great Neck, New York. The school serves students in grades 9 through 12 and is in the Great Neck school district. Great Neck South is one of three high schools in the Great Neck school district, the others being Great Neck North High School and Great Neck Village High School. Great Neck South offers its 1,222 students academic acceleration, along with special education classes for students with disabilities. The school opened in 1958 and was named Great Neck South High School until 2006.As of the 2021-22 school year, the school had an enrollment of 1,222 students and 114.75 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 10.65:1. There were 217 students (17.8% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 27 (2.2% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.

Lake Success is a village in the Town of North Hempstead in Nassau County, on the North Shore of Long Island, in New York. The population was 2,828 at the 2020 census. The Incorporated Village of Lake Success was the temporary home of the United Nations from 1946 to 1951, occupying the headquarters of the Sperry Gyroscope Company on Marcus Avenue. It is also the former home of Canon U.S.A., Inc. before it moved its corporate headquarters to Melville (in neighboring Suffolk County) in the early 21st century.

The North Shore Towers and Country Club is a three-building residential cooperative located in the Little Neck neighborhood in the New York City borough of Queens, near the city's border with Nassau County. The complex is located next to the Long Island Jewish Medical Center. The three constituent residential buildings—Amherst, Beaumont, and Coleridge Towers—which sit on a 110-acre (45 ha) property, are some of the tallest structures in Queens with 34 floors each. The towers are constructed on the highest point of land in Queens County, a hill located 258 feet (79 m) above sea level. This hill is part of the terminal moraine of the last glacial period. The hill is ranked 61 of 62 on the list of New York County High Points. The North Shore Towers complex contains 1,844 apartments ranging from studios to three-bedroom apartments.The North Shore Towers complex has an 18-hole golf course and its own power plant that produces electricity independent of local power companies. The community also has an indoor shopping concourse that connects the three residential buildings with 22 retail units, as well as fitness centers that include five swimming pools and five tennis courts. The North Shore Towers is the only gated residential community in New York with its own United States Postal Service zip code, 11005. The zip code is addressed as Floral Park even though the towers are neither in nor adjacent to the Floral Park, Queens neighborhood or the Village of Floral Park. Queens postal zones do not reflect neighborhood or even political boundaries.

Long Island Jewish Medical Center (LIJMC or LIJ) is a clinical and academic hospital within the Northwell Health system. It is a 807-bed, non-profit tertiary care teaching hospital serving the greater New York metropolitan area. The 48-acre (19 ha) campus is 15 miles (24 km) east of Manhattan, on the border of Queens and Nassau Counties, in Glen Oaks, Queens and Lake Success, New York, respectively. LIJMC has three components: Long Island Jewish Hospital, Steven & Alexandra Cohen Children's Medical Center of New York, and The Zucker Hillside Hospital. Long Island Jewish Hospital is a 587-bed tertiary adult care hospital with advanced diagnostic and treatment technology, and modern facilities for medical, surgical, dental and obstetrical care. As a primary teaching hospital for the Zucker School of Medicine (along with North Shore University Hospital) and the Hofstra Northwell School of Nursing and Physician Assistant Studies Island Campus for the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, LIJMC's graduate medical education program is one of the largest in New York State, and programs are in divisions headed by full-time faculty. LIJ's full-time staff includes more than 500 physicians, who supervise care in all major specialties and participate in the medical center's teaching and research programs. The medical center is located on the southeast side of North Shore Towers. The center was founded in 1954 by a group of nine philanthropists, including Jacob H. Horwitz.

Steven and Alexandra Cohen Children's Medical Center at Long Island Jewish Medical Center (CCMC), formerly Schneider Children's Hospital and North Shore-LIJ Children's Hospital is a pediatric acute care children's teaching hospital located in New Hyde Park, New York. The hospital has 202 pediatric beds and is affiliated the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. The hospital is a member of Northwell Health and is the only children's hospital in the network. The hospital provides comprehensive pediatric specialties and subspecialties to infants, children, teens, and young adults aged 0–21 throughout Long Island and New York state. Cohen Children's also sometimes treats adults that require pediatric care. Cohen Children's Medical Center also features the largest ACS verified Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center in the region. Cohen Children's Medical Center is the largest provider of pediatric health services in New York state. The hospital is attached to Long Island Jewish Medical Center and adjacent to the Ronald Mcdonald House of Long Island.

Zucker Hillside Hospital is a psychiatric facility that opened in 1926, relocated to its present address in 1941, and was renamed in 1999 to its present name.

Fresh Meadow Country Club is a country club with a golf course in the eastern United States, located on Long Island in Lake Success, New York, its home since 1946. The club opened in the New York City borough of Queens in 1923, with a golf course designed by noted course architect A. W. Tillinghast, and hosted two major championships in the early 1930s.

Glen Oaks is a neighborhood in the easternmost part of the New York City borough of Queens. The neighborhood is part of Queens Community Board 13.

North Shore University Hospital (formerly known as Manhasset Hospital) is a part of Northwell Health, New York State's largest healthcare provider and private employer. It is a primary teaching hospital for the Zucker School of Medicine (along with Long Island Jewish Medical Center), offering residency programs, postgraduate training programs and clinical fellowships. It is located in Manhasset, New York. A level I trauma center, North Shore University Hospital has 738 beds and a staff of approximately 4,000 specialty and subspecialty physicians. It offers care in all medical and surgical specialties, including cardiovascular services, cancer care, orthopedics, maternal-fetal medicine and women's health services. The hospital offers neuroscience capabilities, including the Harvey Cushing Institutes of Neuroscience. These include the Chiari Institute, Movement Disorders Institute, Brain Tumor Institute, Brain Aneurysm Center, Headache Center, and Spine Center as well as a state-designated stroke center. The campus also contains the Sandra Bass Heart Hospital and Sandra Atlas Bass center for Liver Diseases which both collaborate to perform transplant services including Heart, Liver and Kidney. The campus is home to the Feinstein Institute for Medical Research.
