The National Kidney Foundation Singapore (NKF) is a non-profit health organisation in Singapore. Its mission is to render services to kidney patients, encourage and promote renal research, as well as to carry out public education programs on kidney diseases. As of February 2016, NKF has 29 dialysis centres in Singapore.

Ren Ci Hospital (Chinese: 仁慈医院) is one of the first few charity healthcare institutions in Singapore to provide affordable healthcare and rehabilitative services in Singapore. Established in 1994, Ren Ci Hospital currently has three facilities Ren Ci Community Hospital, Ren Ci @ Ang Mo Kio and Ren Ci @ Bukit Batok St. 52. Besides government subvention, Ren Ci Hospital also relies heavily on public support and donation. The hospital's CEO Shi Ming Yi performed stunts to help the patients to raise funds in the annual charity programme on Channel U since the first charity programme started in 2003. Ren Ci made headlines when the Ministry of Health (MOH) announced that the charity is being probed for 'possible irregularities in certain financial transactions'. An audit found that the charity had made interest-free loans amounting to a few million dollars to various companies since 1996. There were discrepancies between what the charity recorded it lent and what the companies involved recorded as having borrowed. In 2009, Ming Yi was convicted on four charges for misappropriating Ren Ci funds, making unauthorized loans and giving false information to the Commissioner for Charities. The Charity's Institute of Public Character (IPC) status was not renewed as a result of the outcome of the investigation. It regained its IPC status on 5 August 2008. Mr Loh Kum Mow, a Singapore millionaire who died in December 2016 at the age of 89, divided his fortune in four. After his death he bequeathed large sums of money to the National Kidney Foundation (NKF), Thye Hua Kwan Moral Charities, Ren Ci Hospital and Bo Tien Welfare Services Society. Ren Ci Hospital received close to S$840,000.

Toa Payoh Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Toa Payoh, Singapore.It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium of Balestier Khalsa FC. The stadium holds 3,896 people. It was taken over by the then Singapore Sports Council on 30 November 1973, and opened to the public on 1 March 1974.

Whampoa is a housing estate located in the subzone of Balestier, which is a part of Novena planning area in Singapore, as defined by the Urban Redevelopment Authority. Within the context of the Housing and Development Board (HDB), however, Whampoa forms part of the Kallang/Whampoa New Town, together with the various housing precincts located in the adjacent Kallang planning area. This makes Kallang/Whampoa the only HDB new town that encompasses two planning areas, namely Novena and Kallang. The area was named after Hoo Ah Kay, who was better known as "Whampoa" (his place of birth; Chinese: 黃埔; pinyin: Huángpǔ) during the early years of Singapore as a British settlement. He made many contributions to the Straits Settlements. In addition, he could speak both Chinese and English well, making him an important bridge between the two communities. The respect for his contributions resulted in this area being named after him. The Whampoa area has a significantly higher proportion of elderly and has garnered significant media attention with regard to active ageing programmes.

Whampoa Single Member Constituency was a single member constituency (SMC) located in the eastern region of Singapore. The constituency covers the main area of Whampoa. In 1968, Whampoa Constituency was formed by carving out of Kallang Constituency. In 1988, it was renamed as Whampoa Single Member Constituency as part of Singapore's political reforms. It existed for another term till 1991 when it was abolished and divided into Kampong Glam Group Representation Constituency (GRC), Jalan Besar GRC and Toa Payoh GRC. In 2011, Whampoa SMC was recreated by carving out from Jalan Besar GRC. It was later merged back to Jalan Besar GRC again in the 2015 Singaporean general election.

The Toa Payoh Sports Hall is located in the heart of a residential community in the central region of Singapore and is part of the Toa Payoh Sports & Recreation Centre.The Sports Hall sits in Toa Payoh New Town, one of the earliest public housing estates in Singapore. The Toa Payoh Sports Hall was upgraded and converted to host the inaugural Youth Olympic Games’ weightlifting and volleyball competitions for the first time.With a seating capacity of 2,000 spectators the Toa Payoh Sports Hall has hosted a wide range of sport events.

Whampoa Makan Place is a hawker centre and wet market on blocks 90, 91 and 92 along Whampoa Drive in Whampoa, Singapore. The centre is divided into two sections, with one being the hawker centre, and the other being the wet market.

Balestier Road Hoover Rojak is a street food stall in Whampoa Makan Place in Whampoa, Singapore. The food stall was awarded the Michelin Bib Gourmand in 2016.

The Whampoa Dragon Fountain is a former fountain and a statue of a dragon in Whampoa, Singapore. The statue is located along the CTE.

Siong Lim Temple, also known as Lian Shan Shuang Lin Monastery (traditional Chinese: 蓮山雙林寺; simplified Chinese: 莲山双林寺), is a Buddhist monastery located in Toa Payoh, Singapore, next to the Pan Island Expressway. The temple was founded in 1898, but the construction of the premises only began in 1902 by Low Kim Pong and was completed in 1907. The monastery was gazetted as a national monument in 1980 and subsequently underwent a decade-long restoration that began in 1991. The temple now boasts a seven storey gold-topped pagoda which is a replica of the 800-year-old Shanfeng temple pagoda in Fujian. It has a Columbarium for Tomb Sweeping Day.

Tai Pei Yuen Temple is a Buddhist temple located along Jalan Kemaman in Balestier, Singapore.

The Toa Payoh Swimming Complex is located in the heart of a residential community in Singapore. Located at 301 Lorong 6 Toa Payoh, Singapore 319392, Toa Payoh Swimming Complex is within walking distance from Toa Payoh MRT station. It is closed half day for maintenance on Tuesday. Operating hours are from: Tuesday: 2:30pm – 9:30pm, Wednesday to Monday: 8am to 9:30pm. Together with the Toa Payoh Sports Hall, the Swimming Complex is one of many public swimming complexes operated by the Singapore Sports Council. The swimming complex itself consists of five pools, of which three are meant for public use (a wading pool, a teaching pool and a training pool) while the other two in a separate section of the complex are used extensively for elite training by the national teams in the sports of water polo, synchronised swimming and diving. Toa Payoh Swimming Complex has played host to the National Schools’ Swimming Championships for many years and, since March 2006, has been hosting the synchronised swimming event of the Asian Swimming Championships. Most notably, the Toa Payoh Swimming Complex was the venue for the aquatics (diving) event for the inaugural Summer Youth Olympics Games that took place in Singapore in 2010.
