Cushman House (Arlington, Massachusetts)

The Edward Hall House is a historic house in Arlington, Massachusetts. The 2+1⁄2-story wood-frame house was built c. 1890 for Mrs. Edward Hall by Charles Bacon, owner of the Felt Mills in Winchester. It is one of the most elaborate treatments of Queen Anne style in the town, with asymmetrical massing typical of the style, Art Nouveau carvings in some of its gable ends, an elaborately decorated porch, and a turret with conical roof. The interior was destroyed by fire in 1893.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

The Edward Hornblower House and Barn is a historic farmstead in Arlington, Massachusetts. The 2.5-story wood-frame house was built c. 1830, and was probably moved to its present location around 1850. At that time it also received stylistic modifications, giving it a more Italianate appearance. It was further modified in the 1870s, probably by financier Edward T. Hornblower, of the Boston brokerage firm Hornblower & Page (later Hornblower & Weeks) to add Renaissance Revival elements. A barn, estimated to date to about 1805, stands behind the house.The house and barn were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

The Prentiss-Payson House is a historic house in Arlington, Massachusetts. This 2+1⁄2-story clapboarded wood-frame house was built in 1856 for two women named Prentiss and Payson. Its massing and some of its styling is Italianate, but the front door surround, with sidelight and transom windows, pilasters, and triangular pediment, is distinctly Greek Revival in character. A later resident was Prentiss Payson, organist at a local church and a music teacher.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

The First Parish Church Parsonage is a historic parsonage in Arlington, Massachusetts. The two story wood-frame house was built c. 1855 by Nathan Pratt, a wealthy local citizen. He gave half of the house for use as a parsonage for the First Parish Church, a role it served until the end of the 19th century. It was thereafter converted back into a single family residence. The double front entrance has typical Greek Revival features, including sidelight windows and pilasters, while the massing of the house, and its dentiled and bracketed cornice, are distinctly Italianate.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

Arlington High School is a public high school located in Arlington, Massachusetts. As of 2010, the school enrolls approximately 1,300 students annually. The current principal is Matthew Janger. Currently being rebuilt.

The Jason Russell House is a historic house in Arlington, Massachusetts, the site of the bloodiest fighting on the first day of the American Revolutionary War, April 19, 1775 (the Battle of Lexington and Concord). The house was purchased in 1923 by the Arlington Historical Society which restored it in 1926, and now operates it as a museum from mid-April through the end of October, together with the adjoining Smith Museum, built in 1981 to house changing exhibitions of life in Arlington.

The Pleasant Street Congregational Church is an historic Congregational church at 75 Pleasant Street in Arlington, Massachusetts. The church was built in 1844 for a congregation that split doctrinally from the First Parish Church, whose adherents chose to become Unitarian. The church is a fine example of pattern-book Greek Revival architecture. Its steeple was toppled in 1871, and was again damaged by the New England Hurricane of 1938, necessitating steel reinforcements. The interior was restyled in the late Victorian period, and lengthened in 1883 to accommodate increased attendance. The Colonial Revival front entrance dates to the a series of alterations and repairs made after the 1938 hurricane.The church building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983, and included in an expansion of the Arlington Center Historic District in 1985.In 2011, the church closed and the congregation was disbanded. The Boston Church of Christ bought and renovated the building and hold services there.

Highrock Church is an Evangelical Covenant Church congregation located in Arlington, Massachusetts. Founded in 1999, it occupies the former Saint Athanasius Greek Orthodox Church at 735 Massachusetts Avenue in the town center. The building, constructed in 1841 and restyled in 1860, is a prominent regional example of Italianate ecclesiastical architecture, and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

The Robbins Memorial Flagstaff (1913) is a structure supporting and topping a flagpole in Arlington, Massachusetts created by Cyrus Dallin. The supporting sculpture includes a variety of sculptural elements including bronze figures, stone eagles, and snapping turtles with a finial representing American Agriculture. The sculpture resides to the west of Town Hall at 730 Massachusetts Avenue. The sculpture was commissioned by architect Richard Clipston Sturgis who prepared the site plan for the library/town hall area and designed the adjacent Town Hall. Cyrus Dallin created the sculpture with input by Sturgis. The eagles on the base were executed by the prominent stone carver, John Evans of Boston. On June 25, 1913, this sculpture and the nearby Menotomy Hunter were dedicated and Dallin's speech included a passionate plea for renaming the town of Arlington as Menotomy after the historic significance of its largely vanished inhabitants. The four figures around the base include a colonial woman teaching a child to read, an Indigenous American woman with a papoose on her back, the Minuteman of 1776, and a man reading a bible. At the time of its creation it was described as "Perhaps as great a test of a sculptor's powers as anything that could be conceived." The sculpture can be found about 300 yards west of the Cyrus Dallin Art Museum.
