Denekamp

Dinkelland (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈdɪŋkəllɑnt] ) is a municipality in the eastern Netherlands. For a short time it was known as Denekamp (one of its component towns) until it was renamed in 2002.

The church is called 'Simon en Judaskerk'. Another point of interest is the water inlet 't Schuivenhuisje at the Kanaal Almelo-Nordhorn.

Volthe is a hamlet in the Dutch province of Overijssel. It is a part of the municipality of Dinkelland, and lies about 6 km north of Oldenzaal. Volthe is not a statistical entity, and the postal authorities have placed it under Rossum. It was first mentioned in the late-10th century as Uuluht. The etymology is unclear. In 1840, it was home to 542. Nowadays, it consists of about 200 houses.It is a rural area with spread out farms and houses, some of them in the timber framed style of the traditional Low German house. A fortified house, het Everlo, serves as a starting point for walks to the nearby nature reserve Roderveld.

De Lutte is a village in the Dutch province of Overijssel. It is located in the municipality of Losser. It is located close to the border between the Netherlands and Germany. De Lutte is connected to Germany (to the east) and Oldenzaal and Hengelo (to the west) by the A1 motorway. The Landhuishotel Bloemenbeek with its Michelin-starred restaurant De Bloemenbeek is located in the village.The Losser (De Lutte) Roman Catholic Churchyard contains the graves of five Second World War soldiers who served with the Royal Air Force. Three of the deceased soldiers served with the United Kingdom while the remaining two served with Australia. The graves are for sergeant Sydney Hennan, sergeant William Leonard Wykes, flight sergeant Conrad George Johnston, sergeant John Fisher Morgan and flight sergeant John Kevin Thompson.A river closeby is the Dinkel. The rural landscape around the village has some good examples of farms and barns in the style of the Low German house with timber framing and wooden gables.

Breklenkamp is a hamlet in the Dutch province of Overijssel. It is a part of the municipality of Dinkelland, and lies about 16 km north of Oldenzaal. It was first mentioned in the late-10th century as Brakkinghem, and means "settlement of Brakko (person)". In 1840, it was home to 257 people.Huis te Brecklenkamp is a havezate which was built in the 1630s. The current layout dates from 1844. In 1990, it became a youth hostel, but has become private property in 1990.

Rossum is a village in the Dutch province of Overijssel. It is a part of the municipality of Dinkelland, and lies about 4 km north of Oldenzaal on the road to Ootmarsum. It was first mentioned in the late-10th century as Rohthem, and means "settlement near cleared forest". In 1840, it was home to 504 people.The Hunenborg is a circular rampart to the north of Rossum. In 1916, remnants of wooden buildings were discovered at the site. Later a wooden dam dating from the 1150s was uncovered, and may be the location of a 10th century fortress of the Prince-Bishop of Utrecht.In the rural environment some farms can be found in the traditional building style of the timber framed Low German house.

Oldenzaal (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈɔldə(n)ˌzaːl] (listen); Tweants: Oldnzel) is a municipality and a city in the eastern province of Overijssel in the Netherlands. It is part of the region of Twente and is close to the German border. It received city rights in 1249. Historically, the city was part of the Hanseatic League as a subsidiary city of the fellow Hanseatic city of Deventer. Located on the A1 motorway from Amsterdam to Germany, Oldenzaal also has a rail connection to Hengelo and Bad Bentheim. As of 1 January 2019, 31,885 people lived in Oldenzaal.In the Netherlands, Oldenzaal is well known for its carnival festivities. During the carnival season Oldenzaal is known as "Boeskool-stad" which is a local dialect of the word Cabbage-town. During the main carnival weekend over 100,000 people come for the big parade showing high and mighty carnival trucks.

Lage is a community on the river Dinkel in the district of Grafschaft Bentheim in Lower Saxony with roughly 1,000 inhabitants. It belongs to the Joint Community (Samtgemeinde) of Neuenhaus. Of particular sightseeing interest are the church, built in 1687, the watermill, built in 1270, the castle ruins (first mentioned in a document in 1183, destroyed in 1324–1326 and 1626), the lordly manor, built in 1686 and the historic Oak Avenue with the manor staff’s old houses. The extended name Herrlichkeit Lage – “Herrlichkeit” means grandness or magnificence – refers to the time between the end of the Thirty Years' War and the year 1803, in which Lage was a self-standing small state with its own jurisdiction. The biggest club is the sport club, Rot-Weiß Lage 29 e. V. (about 700 members).
