The Capt. Oliver Emerson Homestead is a historic house at 133 North Street in Methuen, Massachusetts. The 2+1⁄2-story wood-frame house was built c. 1775 by Oliver Emerson, a locally notable leader of American Revolutionary War forces. The house is built on a rubble foundation, and features a large central chimney that is typical of Georgian houses. It is located on one Methuen's early roads, and is one of a few remaining houses that predate the height of the city's development in the mid 19th century.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places January 20, 1984.

The Joseph Perkins House is a historic house in Methuen, Massachusetts. From its external appearance, it is a Greek Revival 1.5-story wood-frame house, which appears to have been built around 1840; however, it has also been assigned construction dates as early as 1752 by local historians. It exhibits Greek Revival features, with corner pilasters, a deep cornice, and a center delighted doorway framed by an entablature supported by pilastered. It is named for a farmer who owned the property in the 19th century.The property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

The Salem Common Historic District encompasses the early colonial center of Salem, New Hampshire. The district dates to the earliest period of settlement of Salem, and includes the historic common, old town hall, fire station, and library. The town hall was built in 1738 and extensively altered in 1838 and 1899; it served as a place for town meetings until 1958. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2011.

The Sununu political family hails from Salem, including former New Hampshire governor and White House Chief of Staff John H. Sununu, and his sons John E. Sununu, a former U.S. senator, and Chris Sununu, current New Hampshire governor. Salem was named on Money magazine's "Best Places to Live 2020" list.

The Massachusetts School of Law (MSLAW) is a private law school in Andover, Massachusetts. It was founded in 1988 and claims that its design and curriculum were influenced by the medical school educational model and legal scholars. Although it is accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education, it is not accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA). The MSLAW bar passage rate for July 2022 first-time takers was 35%, compared to an average 81% from all Massachusetts law schools.Unlike law schools accredited by the ABA, MSLAW does not report employment outcomes for its graduates. MSLAW also does not consider LSAT scores in its admission process.

The Loop, formerly Methuen Mall, is a shopping mall in Methuen, Massachusetts, United States. It was built in 1973 as an enclosed shopping mall on a 60-acre (240,000 m2) site and initially included Howlands and Sears as its anchor stores, as well as 70 other retailers. In 1977, Howlands was replaced by Jordan Marsh, while Filene's Basement was added in the 1980s. Methuen Mall suffered a significant loss in tenancy after both Sears and Filene's Basement moved to The Mall at Rockingham Park across the state line in Salem, New Hampshire. It remained in operation until 1997 and was demolished in early 1999, undergoing redevelopment soon afterward into a strip mall known as The Loop. Major tenants of The Loop are The Home Depot, Marshalls, and AMC Theatres.

The Asie Swan House is a historic house in Methuen, Massachusetts. Built c. 1720, it is one of the oldest buildings in the city. It is a 1+1⁄2-story frame house, five bays wide, with clapboard siding, central chimney, and granite foundation. Its central entrance is flanked by sidelight windows. The house originally stood at a location on Prospect Hill in what is now Lawrence, where it was used for the first town meetings beginning in 1726. It was moved in 1808 to its present location.The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

The James E. Simpson House is a historic house in Methuen, Massachusetts. It is a 2+1⁄2-story house, finished in wooden clapboards, with a steeply-pitched gable roof with exposed trusses. It was built c. 1920, and features typical Craftsman features, including dormers with deep eaves supported by trusses, and half-timbering above the windows. Its porch and foundation are faced in glazed fieldstones, as is its central chimney. The house is Methuen's finest example of the Craftsman/bungalow style.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

Salem High School is a public high school located in Salem, New Hampshire, United States. As of 2011, approximately 1,600 students were enrolled. The high school is a comprehensive school, housing both traditional and vocational learning opportunities. The school was established in 1966 and has gone through various renovations. The school offers many unique and different classes, ranging from astronomy to television production.

Methuen High School is a public secondary school located in the city of Methuen, Massachusetts, United States. Methuen High serves grades nine through twelve for about 1,900 students. It is one of five public schools in Methuen and it is the only high school in the district.

The J.E. Buswell House is a historic two-family house at 535-537 Prospect Street in Methuen, Massachusetts. Built in 1875, it is one of the city's few high quality examples of Second Empire architecture. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

Nevins Farm and Equine Center, also known as MSPCA at Nevins Farm and the Methuen Animal Care and Adoption Center at Nevins Farm, is an animal shelter and veterinary hospital in Methuen, Massachusetts operated by the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Part of the 55-acre (22 ha) property is devoted to Hillside Acre Animal Cemetery, a 4-acre (1.6 ha) animal cemetery.Nevins Farm "never turns away an animal in need" and is the only open-door horse and farm animal rescue center in New England. According to the MSPCA, the center's "equine, farm animal, and small animal surrender, adoption, and foster care services are unique in the Northeast". Located 30 miles (48 km) north of Boston on a rural swath of land between Interstate 93 and Massachusetts Route 28, each year the center serves about 7,000 animals and is visited by approximately 75,000 people. The farm primarily serves the Merrimack Valley and southern New Hampshire but some of its services, such as the Equine Ambulance Program described below, are international.
