Ephraim Davis House

The Rocks Village Historic District is a historic district in eastern Haverhill, Massachusetts. It encompasses a dense community of 25 mainly residential structures at the western end of the Rocks Village Bridge, an early crossing point of the Merrimack River, of which 15 date to the 18th century. The village is significant for its association with the poet John Greenleaf Whittier, who was born nearby, and for the artwork of Rufus Porter, found in one of the houses. The area was designated a local historic district in 1975, and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.

Whittier Regional Vocational Technical High School, also known as “Whittier Tech” and/or “Big Whittier,” was founded in 1972. Located in the city of Haverhill, MA, United States, the school currently serves about 1400 students, with a 12:1 student-teacher ratio. It serves many surrounding cities and towns primarily in the northern section of Essex County, accepting students from Haverhill, Newburyport, Newbury, West Newbury, Rowley, Amesbury, Merrimac, Georgetown, Groveland, Ipswich and Salisbury. The school was named in honor of local resident, Quaker poet, and slavery abolitionist John Greenleaf Whittier. Alongside this school, there is also a middle school called “J. G. Whittier Middle School” located in Haverhill also named after the poet.

The Hazen-Spiller House is a historic late First Period house in Haverhill, Massachusetts. Built c. 1724 by Richard Hazen, It is a rare example of a brick house of the time, and notable for its role in early 20th century restoration activities. The 2+1⁄2-story building is made of brick laid in English bond, with end chimneys and a central hall layout. The house was acquired in 1911 by early preservationist William Taylor, who took notes detailing the buildings First Period features. In 1915 Taylor sold the house to Wallace Nutting, who undertook a "restoration" that covered over some of those features and may have destroyed others. The house was one of a series owned by Nutting and showcased in a guidebook, Chain of Picture Houses, he used to popularized colonial styles.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.

The Hastings-Morse House is a historic First Period house in Haverhill, Massachusetts. The oldest portion of the 2+1⁄2-story wood-frame house, its central chimney and right-side rooms, were probably built c. 1706 by a man named Hastings. Left-side rooms and a partial leanto section on the back of the house were added during the 18th century. The house underwent a major restoration in the late 1957, which included raising the roof on the leanto section. Another 20th-century addition is the sunroom on the left (west) side of the house. Evidence of the building's First Period origins is still visible in the right front room.The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.

Merrimac is a small town in Essex County, Massachusetts, United States, and on the southeastern border of New Hampshire, approximately 34 miles (55 km) northeast of Boston and 10 miles (16 km) west of the Atlantic Ocean. It was incorporated on April 11, 1876. It is situated along the north bank of the Merrimack River in the Merrimack Valley. The population was 6,723 at the 2020 census. Historically a mill town, it has long since become a largely residential community. It is part of the Greater Boston metropolitan area.

West Newbury is a town in Essex County, Massachusetts, United States. Situated on the Merrimack River, its population was 4,500 at the 2020 census.

The Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Building in West Newbury, Massachusetts is a historic American Civil War memorial building at 363 Main Street. Built in 1900, it is a distinctive local example of Gothic Revival architecture. It has served as a meeting place for veterans organizations (for many years as the local American Legion post) and housed the local public library for 12 years. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2016.

Merrimac Square is located in the center of the town of Merrimac, Massachusetts. It is the commercial, cultural and historical center of the town. The main events of the town, including the Merrimac Santa Parade and Merrimac Old Home Days, are held in the square. The Square joins East and West Main Streets, as well as Church Street and School Street. There was previously only a concrete island in the center of the roadway, with a flagpole at the center. The two banks, one of them in a building dating back to the 1800s, are located at the entrance to West Main Street. The police and fire station are located near the entrance to East Main Street. In mid-2015, the town square was renovated, changing the open roadway of the square into a small rotary, as well as implementing a new water main and sidewalks compliant with the ADA.

Newell Farm is a historic farmhouse at 243 Main Street in West Newbury, Massachusetts. It was built in 1846 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

The Samuel Chase House is a historic First Period house in West Newbury, Massachusetts. Built c. 1715, it is a rare example of a brick house built during the transition between First Period and Georgian styling and construction methods. A story passed down through the Chase family says that bricks for the house were made on the family's farm and were carried to the homesite by Hannah Chase in her apron. The brick is laid in English bond, and the building is seven bays wide and two stories high. The outermost window bays have been bricked over, leaving the front facade with five windows on the second floor, and two on either side of a central front door in the first floor. The first floor windows and doorway are in arched spaces in the brickwork, while those on the second floor are rectangular. The house underwent a major restoration in 1986.The house was listed on the National Historic Register in 1990.The home of his son, Amos Chase, in Saco, Maine, also still stands.

The Samuel March House is a historic First Period house in West Newbury, Massachusetts. The two-story wood-frame house was built in two sections, beginning in the later years of the 17th century. The first portion built was the right three bays of the house, which at that time included a chimney located on the left side. The second portion, also built during the First Period, added the two bays to the left. At some point during the Georgian period, the large central chimney was removed and replaced with two narrow brick chimney, a reflection of changing taste. The front facade is five bays wide, with a slightly larger central bay. The front door is framed by a Georgian surround with pilasters and an entablature.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.

Merrimacport is an unincorporated village and the oldest section of the town of Merrimac, Massachusetts, located along the Merrimack River. Settled in 1638, it began as a fishing village and was long a part of the section of Amesbury, Massachusetts known as West Amesbury. During the Industrial Revolution, a nearby village developed around the newly formed Merrimac square. In 1876, West Amesbury, including Merrimacport (aka: South Amesbury), split from Amesbury, incorporating itself as the town of Merrimac. Merrimacport is divided from the rest of Merrimac by Interstate 495. It goes from the Southern Border of Amesbury to Locust Street.
