Stoughton (official name: Town of Stoughton) is a town in Norfolk County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 29,281 at the 2020 census. The town is located approximately 17 miles (27 km) from Boston, 31 miles (50 km) from Providence, Rhode Island, and 35 miles (56 km) from Cape Cod.

Stoughton station is an MBTA Commuter Rail station in downtown Stoughton, Massachusetts. It is the current terminus of the Stoughton Branch of the Providence/Stoughton Line. The station has a parking lot to serve local riders and those driving from further south, as Stoughton is close to the Massachusetts Route 24 expressway. Stoughton currently has one platform (split across Wyman Street) serving one track; the platform has a mini-high section for accessibility.

The Stoughton Public Library is part of the Old Colony Library Network (OCLN), a cooperative of libraries located on the South Shore of Massachusetts. In addition to books and print materials, the library offers patrons access to eBooks and databases through the OCLN, as well as lending museum passes to area museums and zoos, coordinating free tutoring for adults in Basic Literacy and English to Speakers of Other Languages, and housing local historical and genealogical materials in the Stoughton Collection. Established in 1874, the library is currently temporarily located at 529 Washington Street, Stoughton, MA. The permanent location, at 84 Park Street, is undergoing a large-scale renovation to expand the library's current space from 22,000 square feet to 31,058 square feet and is projected to re-open in May 2018.

Stoughton High School (SHS) is a public high school the town of Stoughton, Massachusetts, United States. It serves students in grades 9 to 12 and is a part of Stoughton Public Schools. It has an average of 300 students per grade level. It is located on 232 Pearl Street in Stoughton, Massachusetts. The principal is Juliette Miller. SHS is known for their award-winning marching band and color guard, known as the Marching Black Knights.

Ahavath Torah is a Conservative synagogue located at 1179 Central Street, Stoughton, Massachusetts, in the United States. Formed as a merger of two older congregations founded in the 1890s, it is the oldest synagogue in Stoughton.

North Easton station is a proposed railroad station on the MBTA Commuter Rail's South Coast Rail located on the border of North Easton, Massachusetts and Stoughton, Massachusetts. It is proposed to be built as part of the state's effort to extend rail service to Fall River and New Bedford. It would be located well to the north of the old station in North Easton, itself to become Easton Village station one stop southwards on the new line to New Bedford and Fall River.

Springdale station was a New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad station in the village of Springdale in Canton, Massachusetts. It was located on the Stoughton Branch. The station was built by the Old Colony Railroad at a cost $1,200. It opened in October 1891. It replaced an older building built in 1855. In 1919 the building was used in the filming of the now-lost silent film Anne of Green Gables, starring Mary Miles Minter.By the 1920s improvements in local highways led to reduced service on the Stoughton Branch, with both Springdale and West Stoughton in danger of being closed. They and other low-traffic stations were further endangered by the New Haven's 1935 bankruptcy. By the late 1930s service at Springdale was done to four weekday trains per day, handling a total of eleven passengers. The station was closed and demolished on July 1, 1940.

Cobb's Tavern is a historic colonial tavern building in Sharon, Massachusetts. It is a 2+1⁄2-story wood-frame building, with brick end walls, a central chimney, and a pair of chimneys near the left wall. A single-story porch extends across the building's rightmost five bays. The original part of the house was built c. 1740, and is known to have served as a tavern for most of the 19th century. It also housed the East Sharon Post Office between 1817 and 1895. It is now a private residence. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.

Canton Center is an MBTA Commuter Rail station in Canton, Massachusetts. It serves the Providence/Stoughton Line, including most Stoughton Branch service except for evening inbound trains. The station has 1 side platform on the south side of the track west of Washington Street; the platform has a mini-high section for accessibility.

The Canton Corner Historic District is a historic district encompassing the historic town center of Canton, Massachusetts. Centered on the junction of Pleasant and Washington Streets, it includes more than 25 properties and 170 acres (69 ha), whose architectural history spans 250 years of occupation and include the town's major civic buildings. The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places on September 9, 2009.
