Holbrook Square Historic District

Holbrook is a town in Norfolk County, Massachusetts, United States. As of 2023, the town's population was 12,284.

The Roberts School is a historic school building at 320 Union Street (Massachusetts Route 139) in Holbrook, Massachusetts. The one-room schoolhouse was built in 1873; it is a 1+1⁄2-story wood-frame structure, with two doorways providing access to separate vestibules, as well as the singular classroom. It was the first school building the town built after incorporating, and was used as a schoolhouse until 1979. It has since 1980 been home to the Holbrook Historical Society.The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.

Holbrook/Randolph station (also signed as Randolph/Holbrook) is an MBTA Commuter Rail station on the border of Holbrook and Randolph, Massachusetts. It is served by the Middleborough/Lakeville Line.

Stetson Hall is the former town hall of Randolph, Massachusetts, located at 6 South Main Street. The 2+1⁄2-story Greek Revival building, which was constructed in 1842, is the most monumental Greek Revival structure in the town, and occupies an elevated site in a prominent position at its center. Its temple front consists of six large fluted Ionic columns, two stories in height, supporting a triangular pedimental gable. Construction of the building was funded by Amasa Stetson, and has served as a center of civic activity in the town since it was built. Its early uses included an academy endowed by Stetson, and as home to the offices of Randolph National Bank. Its meeting space saw a variety of uses, including town meetings and religious services. The building also house town offices for most of its history; the town moved most of its offices out of the building in 1995 to allow for its restoration, which was not completed until 2009.The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2011.

The Town of Randolph is a suburban city in Norfolk County, Massachusetts, United States. At the 2020 census, the city population was 34,984. Randolph adopted a charter effective January 2010 providing for a council-manager form of government instead of the traditional town meeting. Randolph is one of thirteen Massachusetts municipalities that have applied for, and been granted, city forms of government but wish to retain "The town of" in their official names.

The Jonathan Belcher House is a historic house located at 360 North Main Street in Randolph, Massachusetts. The house was built in 1806 by Jonathan Belcher (1767–1839) and his wife Abigail (Thayer) who had been married on April 12, 1792. Their son, also named Jonathan, married Hannah (Jordan) and later added to the house. Jonathan and Hannah's granddaughter, Abigail Tower Tarbell, gave the house to The Ladies Library Association in 1911; the Association later changed its name to the Randolph Womens Club, whose home it is today. The house is used for weddings and other events and is occasionally open to the public.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on April 30, 1976.

The Cochato River is a stream rising from Avon, Massachusetts and running several miles north to its confluence with the Monatiquot River in Braintree. It is part of the Weymouth Fore River watershed and empties into Boston Harbor. The river serves as the boundary between Braintree and Randolph. The river previously fed the Richardi Reservoir, a water system serving nearly 90,000 people in the Towns of Holbrook, Randolph, and Braintree. This use ended in the 1980s, however, due to severe pollution from the Baird & McGuire company. From 1912 to 1983, the Baird & McGuire chemical manufacturing facility was operated near the river in Holbrook, manufacturing products such as pesticides, disinfectants, soaps, and solvents. Between 1954 and 1977, the company was fined at least 35 times by various state and federal agencies for numerous violations. Because of their poor storage and disposal practices, industrial waste was discharged into the soil, river, wetlands, and a gravel pit. The facility was closed in 1983 and declared a "superfund" site. The Environmental Protection Agency dredged and treated over 4,000 cubic yards (3,100 m3) of sediments in the Cochato, with cleanup completed in 1997. The river has been monitored since that time.

Ames Nowell State Park is a 700-acre (280 ha) Massachusetts state park located in the town of Abington. The park is managed by the Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) (in season, a Forest and Park Supervisor I; off season, the ranger station at Wompatuck State Park). There is also a lot of history in the park, with miles upon miles of stone walls, two wagon bridges, and two quarries all dating back to the 1600s and 1700s.

The Pond Street School, also known as the Alice E. Fulton School, is a historic former school building at 235 Pond Street in Weymouth, Massachusetts. The Colonial Revival brick building was constructed in 1928 to a design by architect Howard B. S. Prescott. Originally built in an H shape, the building was extended in 1953 and 1958 to the northeast, and in 1967 with the addition of a gymnasium section to the west. The latter portion was demolished and replaced by a new wing in 2008 during the conversion of the building to a senior living facility. The building served as an elementary school until 1991; it was renamed Alice E. Fulton School, after its first principal, in 1964.The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2010.
