Manot, Israel

Manot Cave (Hebrew: מערת מנות Me'arat Manot) is a cave in Western Galilee, Israel, discovered in 2008. It is notable for the discovery of a skull that belongs to a modern human, called Manot 1, which is estimated to be 54,700 years old (U–Th dating of the calcitic crust on the Manot 1 calvaria and of speleothems in the cave). The partial skull was discovered at the beginning of the cave's exploration in 2008. Its significance was realised after detailed scientific analysis, and was first published in an online edition of Nature on 28 January 2015. This age implies that the specimen is the oldest known human outside Africa, and is evidence that modern humans lived side-by-side with Neanderthals. The cave is also noted for its "impressive archaeological record of flint and bone artefacts". Geologically, it is an "active stalactite cave".

Neve Ziv (Hebrew: נְוֵה זִיו, lit. Brightness Home), also known as Ziv HaGalil (Hebrew: זִיו הַגָּלִיל, lit. Brightness of the Galilee) is a community settlement in northern Israel. Located east of Nahariya, it falls under the jurisdiction of Ma'ale Yosef Regional Council. In 2021 it had a population of 1,012.

Arab al-Samniyya (Arabic: عرب السمنية), also known as Khirbat al-Suwwana, was a Palestinian village in the Western Galilee that was captured and depopulated by Israel during the 1948 Arab-Israeli war. It was located in the Acre District of the British Mandate of Palestine, 19.5 km northeast of the city of Acre. In 1945 the, village had a population of 200 Arab and a total land area of 1,872 dunums.

Avdon (Hebrew: עַבְדּוֹן) is a moshav in northern Israel. Located near Shlomi, it falls under the jurisdiction of Ma'ale Yosef Regional Council. In 2021 it had a population of 685.

Montfort (Hebrew: מבצר מונפור, Mivtzar Monfor; Arabic: قلعة القرين, Qal'at al-Qurain or Qal'at al-Qarn - "Castle of the Little Horn" or "Castle of the Horn") is a ruined Crusader castle in the Upper Galilee region in northern Israel, about 22 miles (35 km) northeast of the city of Haifa and 10 miles (16 km) south of the border with Lebanon. The site is now a national park inside the Nahal Kziv nature reserve, and is an important tourist destination attracting many visitors from inside and outside Israel.

Eilon (Hebrew: אֵילוֹן) is a kibbutz in northern Israel. Located a mile south of the Lebanese border and six miles east of the Mediterranean coast, the kibbutz is situated in the Western Galilee on a ridge between two streams, Nahal Betzet and Nahal Kziv. Keshet Eilon (Hebrew: קשת אילון) is a music center established in the year 1990, located in Kibbutz Eilon, Israel. Its mission is to be a source of strength and support for young gifted violinists. Every summer Keshet Eilon holds a three-week-long international violin seminar. The students come from different countries throughout the world and the participating teachers are prominent violinists and violin teachers.
