Kababir (Arabic: كبابير; Hebrew: כבאביר) is a mixed neighbourhood with a majority of Ahmadi Muslim Arabs and a significant minority of Jews in Haifa, Israel.

Ramat HaTishbi (Hebrew: רמת התשבי) is a relatively small neighbourhood in Haifa, Israel, located on the western slopes of Mount Carmel, adjacent to the French Carmel neighbourhood. It includes the streets of Hatishbi, Beit El, Shounamit, and Ovadia.

On the evening of December 8th, 1947, about four-hundred well-trained Palestinians led by Hasan Salama attacked Hatikva a dense, working-class Temani neighborhood, and were repelled by 100 Jewish fighters, including elements of the recently-formed Haganah Givati Brigade. The neighborhood's civilian inhabitants, primarily old Yemenite Jews, responded quickly by rushing into the city's theaters and restaurants and raising the alert. The Arab attack was launched from Salameh, a village near Jaffa, which had also sent 150 gunmen to attack Kibbutz Ef'al days earlier on 4 December and which was believed to be Hasan Salama's base for the Army of the Holy War. 'The Battle of Hatikvah' was the first military battle of the 1947-48 Civil War in Mandatory Palestine. On the night of December 8th, 1947, 400 Arab Nationalist fighters commanded by Hasan Salama attacked the Hatikvah and Beit Yaakov neighborhoods. The attack was repulsed with heavy Arab losses.

The Battle of Haifa, called by the Jewish forces Operation Bi'ur Hametz (Hebrew: מבצע ביעור חמץ "Passover Cleaning"), was a Haganah operation carried out on 21–22 April 1948 and was a major event in the final stages of the civil war in Palestine, leading up to the 1948 Arab-Israeli War. The objective of the operation was the capture of the Arab neighborhoods of Haifa.

In 1265, the army of Baibars the Mamluk captured Haifa, destroying its fortifications, which had been rebuilt by Louis IX of France, as well as the majority of the city's homes to prevent the European Crusaders from returning.

French Carmel (Hebrew: כרמל צרפתי) is a neighbourhood of Haifa (Israel), located on the western slopes of Mount Carmel. The population is predominantly Jewish.

th Carmel Beach central bus station (Hebrew: מֶרְכָּזִית חוֹף הַכַּרְמֵל, Merkazit Hof HaKarmel) is the main bus station in Haifa, Israel, replacing the Haifa Bat Galim central bus station. The former station is now only used to store Egged buses and for Egged office space and inner-city buses now only stop there on the road rather than inside on the route between Haifa Hof HaCarmel central bus station and the Mifratz central bus station. Carmel Beach central bus station opened in 19 August 2003. Since then, all buses coming from the South which formerly ended at Haifa Bat Galim central bus station terminate at Carmel Beach central bus station and new more frequent lines operate between the three stations. Passengers can get a free transfer to urban buses when they buy their inter-city ticket to continue from one central bus station to the other one, or into the city. Carmel Beach central bus station serves local Egged bus lines within the city of Haifa and all intercity Egged bus routes heading to the South. The station is also a mall. It has one level and has stores and a food court. At the waiting area for departing buses, there are doors to go outside to the bus platform. At the arrival area, people go inside a door to the building. Carmel Beach central bus station is adjacent to Haifa Carmel Beach railway station. The Monastery of Our Lady of Mount Carmel is a Catholic Christian monastery for Carmelite nuns that sits on the slope of Mount Carmel, in Haifa, Israel. The monastery is dedicated to Our Lady of Mount Carmel. The community of Our Lady of Mount Carmel was founded in 1892 by a group of French Carmelite nuns. As of 2022, a community of about twenty sisters is made up of women from ten different countries and four different continents. The common language spoken inside the monastery is French.The Monastery, which is exclusive to nuns, is located not far from the Stella Maris Monastery for Carmelite monks, also located on the slope of Mount Carmel in Haifa.

The Tikotin Museum of Japanese Art is a museum on the crest of Mount Carmel, in Haifa, Israel, dedicated to the preservation and exhibition of Japanese art. It is the only such museum in the Middle East. It was established in 1959 on the initiative of Felix Tikotin of the Netherlands, and Abba Hushi, then mayor of Haifa.

The Haifa bus 37 suicide bombing was a suicide bombing carried out on 5 March 2003 on an Egged bus in Haifa, Israel. Seventeen passengers were killed in the attack and 53 were injured. Many of the victims were students from Haifa University.The Palestinian Islamist terror organization Hamas claimed responsibility for the attack. The suicide bomber was 20-year-old Mahmoud Umdan Salim Qawasmeh, a student at the Palestine Polytechnic University. An Israeli Arab resident of Haifa who helped plan the attack was also tried and sentenced to life imprisonment for his involvement.

The Maxim restaurant bombing was a suicide bombing which occurred on October 4, 2003, in the beachfront "Maxim" restaurant in Haifa, Israel. Twenty-one civilians were killed and 60 were injured. Among the victims were two families and four children, including a two-month-old baby. The restaurant, which is located at the seafront near the southern boundary of the city of Haifa, was frequently attended by both Arab and Jewish local populations, and was widely seen as a symbol of peaceful coexistence in Haifa. The militant organization Islamic Jihad claimed responsibility for the attack. It was condemned by Palestinian President Yasser Arafat. The restaurant's interior was destroyed by the blast (it was completely rebuilt seven months after the attack).
