Julius Blackburn House

The Switzer Covered Bridge, located off Rocky Branch Rd., over North Elkhorn Creek, in or near Switzer, Kentucky, was built around 1855. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.It is 126 feet (38 m) long and 11 feet (3.4 m) wide. It was built by George Hockensmith.The bridge was threatened with destruction in 1953, but was saved. In March 1997, it was knocked from its foundation by high water and was later rebuilt again that year Instead of destroying and replacing this bridge.

Sodom is a ghost town in Woodford County, Kentucky, United States. Sodom was located a few hundred yards downstream from Fishers Mill road were there was a covered bridge, built in 1810 and replaced in 1947. The town was established in 1825 by George and James Ware, but had vanished by 1880. At its peak, It was the second largest city in Scott county (the largest being Georgetown). it had a population of 150, and included a cotton factory, hemp factory, tannery, shoe shop, carding machine, trading store, and a flour and grist mill. It is supposed that it was populated by many slaves that provided most of the labor. The town was named Sodom after the ancient city, because a tavern there owned by Richard Cole burned down in 1811.

The William Campbell House in Stamping Ground, Kentucky, also known as the Campbell-Gayle House, is an early house believed to have been built in c.1790-1800. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.It is notable as a "unique early house of brick nogging-filled half timber construction with a beaded clapboard-covered main facade and a steeply pitched roof."The exterior of the brick nogging (infill between the timbers) is plastered with stucco while the timbers are not; this is unusual as the only house in Kentucky known to have this feature. The 32 feet (9.8 m) by 28 feet (8.5 m) house also has a steep roof and just one window each for the two front rooms. The appearance of the house is much like historic Colonial dwellings in the eastern colonies. The construction is thus dated to pioneer era and perhaps the 18th century.

The Edward M. Blackburn House, near Midway, Kentucky, was built around 1810. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.It is a one-and-a-half-story Federal style brick house. Its main mass is five bays wide, and there are flanking one-room extensions and a rear ell. Its front entrance is a Palladian doorway with a fanlight.It has also been known as Equira and later as Hurstland Farm.It is located in Woodford County, Kentucky on Spring Station Rd.

Forks of Elkhorn is an unincorporated community within Franklin County, Kentucky, United States. It lies on US 460 where the north and south forks of Elkhorn Creek meet. It is believed to have been established in 1784. The town had a post office from 1848 to September 24, 1965. The town had a station on the Frankfort and Cincinnati Railroad that was known as Elsinore for unknown reasons.

Alexander Plantation House, also known as Lanark Farm, and Alexander's Plantation, is a former tobacco plantation and plantation house located near Midway in Woodford County, Kentucky.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on June 23, 1983, for historical, architectural, and engineering significance. The house is a five-bay two-story central hall plan stone house. The house consists of two early stone houses, which were moved in c. 1935 –1936 about a mile to the current location.

The Old Stone Tavern, near Frankfort, Kentucky, is a historic stone building that once served as an inn and tavern on a stagecoach line, and later served as a toll house. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.It is a one-and-three-quarters-story hall-parlor plan structure that is the primary structure remaining out of an old inn complex.It is located on the Old Leestown Pike the corner of Scruggs Lane.A former blacksmith site is behind the house.

Midway is a home rule-class city in Woodford County, Kentucky, in the United States. Its population was 1,741 at the time of the year 2020 U.S. census. It is part of the Lexington-Fayette Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town sits just off Interstate 64 and among several major thoroughbred breeding operations, such as Three Chimneys Farm and former Gov. Brereton Jones’ Airdrie Stud. In 2003, faced with a declining downtown, the city began major streetscape renovation project as part of Main Street Kentucky. New period structures and lighting brought new life to the town. It is known for its distinctive shops and restaurants. An active business association holds events every month of the year, and the city is a starting point or waypoint for several road races that wind through the surrounding countryside.

WBTF (107.9 FM), also known as 107.9 The Beat, is an urban contemporary outlet serving the Lexington radio market. It is owned by L.M. Communications. The station's studios are located at Triangle Center in downtown Lexington, and its transmitter is located east of Versailles, Kentucky. WBTF signed on its current format in 2000, playing hip hop and R&B music, making it the first time in six years that an Urban-formatted station returned to Lexington since WCKU flipped the format in 1994 to rock. Until recently, WBTF was the only such station in the market, and therefore played old school music, soul, slow jams and gospel occasionally to cater to both the mainstream and adult audiences in the African American community. The station was the home of the Doug Banks Morning Show until the end of 2007, when he was replaced by Steve Harvey.

Woodburn Stud was an American horse breeding farm located in Woodford County, Kentucky about ten miles (16 km) from the city of Lexington. It was established in the 18th century as an original land grant property of General Hugh Mercer to whom it had been granted for his military services during the American Revolutionary War. Robert Alexander (1767–1841), a Scottish immigrant, came to Virginia from Scotland in 1786. Around 1790 he purchased the Mercer estate in Kentucky. Under the guidance of his son, Robert A. Alexander, during the 19th century, Woodburn Stud became the birthplace of Kentucky's Thoroughbred industry.
