Thompson School (Webster, Massachusetts)

A Civil War Memorial stands in downtown Webster, Massachusetts, in front of the town hall as one part of a series of war monuments called Honor Court. This memorial was dedicated in 1907 and consists of a central tower with a bronze statue of a soldier on top. Four other bronze statues of soldiers stand at each of the four corners: an infantryman, artilleryman, cavalryman, and sailor.Each bronze soldier statue was created in 125% scale from real life. On October 11, 1906, the contract for this memorial was awarded to J.W. White & Sons of Quincy.

It served that purpose until 1905, after which it intermittently served a variety of public and private educational purposes until 1972. The building has Italianate styling, with high and narrow round-arch windows, and a projecting central pavilion that has a gable end with an oculus window. The building is predominantly light shades of polychrome granite, with brick quoining.The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989. It has been converted to residential use.

The District Five Schoolhouse, also known as the Fenner Hill School, is a historic former school building at 449 School Street in Webster, Massachusetts. Built in 1835, the one-room schoolhouse was the first school building built by the recently incorporated town of Webster. It served the town as a school for 100 years, after which it was used by the school system for storage. In 1966 it became the museum and headquarters of the Webster-Dudley Historical Society. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.
