Norwell Village Area Historic District

Norwell is a town in Plymouth County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 11,351 at the 2020 United States census. The town's southeastern border runs along the North River.

The Bryant–Cushing House is a historic First Period house at 768 Main Street in Norwell, Massachusetts. The oldest portion of this 2+1⁄2-story wood-frame house was built c. 1698 by Deacon Thomas Bryant. It is five bays wide and two deep, and has a large central chimney. The main entrance is centered on the front facade, and is flanked by fluted pilasters supporting a pediment. The house was in the locally prominent Cushing family for roughly two hundred years. Much of the land formerly associated with the house now forms part of the adjacent Norris Reservation, conservation land owned by The Trustees of Reservations.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and included in the Norwell Village Area Historic District, in 1976.

The Woodworth House, also known as the Old Oaken Bucket Homestead, is a historic house at 47 Old Oaken Bucket Road in Scituate, Massachusetts. The oldest portion of this house was built c. 1675, and is now an ell on the main house, a Cape style structure built in 1826. The house is most notable for its association with Samuel Woodworth, who in 1817 wrote the poem "The Old Oaken Bucket" about an old well on this property. The football trophy the Old Oaken Bucket, which is contested for annually by Indiana University and Purdue University, was inspired by the poem and the song crafted from the poem. The property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1996.

The Stetson–Ford House is a historic First Period house at 2 Meadow Farms Way in Norwell, Massachusetts. The oldest portion of this 2+1⁄2-story wood-frame house was built c. 1674 by Thomas Stetson, the son of one of the area's first English settlers. It was rebuilt and enlarged in the 1780s by the family of Michael Ford, who were leading shipbuilders of the area. The house was in Ford family hands into the 20th century, and is now owned by the town.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998.

The Tack Factory was a historic industrial facility at 49 Tiffany Road in Norwell, Massachusetts, United States. With its oldest portion dating to 1834, it was the last surviving 19th-century mill building in Norwell prior to its destruction by fire in 1983. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. For most of its history it was used in the manufacture of horse tack equipment.

The Hatch Homestead and Mill Historic District encompasses two properties associated with the locally prominent Hatch family on Union Street in Marshfield, Massachusetts. It includes an early Georgian colonial house (dating to the first half of the 18th century), and a 19th-century water-powered mill, both located on sites that had seen similar use since the 17th century. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2009.

Old Stockbridge Grist Mill is a historic grist mill on Country Way in Scituate, Massachusetts. It is one of the oldest surviving mills in the United States. Between 1637 and 1640, the First Herring Brook was dammed by Isaac Stedman for creation of a sawmill. In 1650, John Stockbridge built next to the sawmill the surviving grist mill, which was used by the Stockbridge and Clapp families to grind cornmeal for sale until 1922, when the Scituate Historical Society purchased the property. Much of the original mill grinding equipment still survives within the mill.

Norwell High School is a public secondary school accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). It is located in Norwell, Massachusetts, United States. The school includes approximately 50 full-time teachers. Its students consistently score above state and national averages on the SAT and other standardized tests, and on average, 97% of students from each graduating class at Norwell High School continue on to post-secondary education.NHS has been ranked as the 12th best secondary school in Massachusetts, and is ranked in the top 6% for best public education high schools in the country by Newsweek Magazine.

Greenbush station is an MBTA Commuter Rail station in Scituate, Massachusetts. Located in the Greenbush section of Scituate, it is the terminus of the Greenbush Line.

The North River Wildlife Sanctuary is a wildlife sanctuary, owned by the Massachusetts Audubon Society, located on the North River in the town of Marshfield, Massachusetts. The sanctuary contains 184 acres (0.74 km2) of mixed cultural grasslands, red maple swamps, oak-pine woodland, and access to the river. The North River Wildlife Sanctuary came to Mass Audubon as a gift of the Killam and Rodgers families in 1977.

The First Trinitarian Congregational Church is a historic Congregational church at 381 Country Way in Scituate, Massachusetts; it is associated with the United Church of Christ. The Classical Revival church building was constructed in 1826 after its congregation had left the First Parish Church of Scituate when it became Unitarian in theology. The church building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.

The Capt. Benjamin James House is a historic First Period house, now a museum, at 301 Driftway in Scituate, Massachusetts. The oldest part of this 2+1⁄2-story timber-frame house was built c. 1700 by Captain Benjamin James. During the 18th century it was enlarged to its present five-bay saltbox configuration. After James' death in 1788, the house was used by the town as a "pest house", isolating smallpox victims there.The house is now home of the Maritime and Irish Mossing Museum, owned and maintained by the Scituate Historical Society. There are exhibits of the mossing industry, ship building on the North River, shipwrecks, life saving. It is open Sunday afternoons, 1–4 p.m. Sept through June. Sat and Sun, July and August. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.
