Simmons Gap is an unincorporated community in Greene County, Virginia, United States. Simmons Gap is named after Ephraim Seamonds/Simmons who lived at Simmons Gap in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Simmons Gap Road that runs from Buck Mountain Road just north of Earlysville to the park line and picks back up on the west side. In the horse and wagon days, Simmons Gap was one of the main mountain crossings. Ephriam Seamonds and his wife Mary Pew Seamonds are buried on the mountain. When it was decided to cut a better crossing, the Spotswood Trail was selected, which is now Route 33. Simmons Gap sits between Weaver and Flattop Mountains.

Kite Mansion

The Kite Mansion, also known as the Kite House, is a historic home located in Elkton, Rockingham County, Virginia. It was built in 1948, and consists of a two-story, five-bay, central-passage plan main block with flanking one-story wings in the Colonial Revival style. It is constructed of concrete block and clad in running bond brick. The front facade features a Classical Revival style, pedimented, two-story portico. Also on the property is a contributing greenhouse.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.

Elkton, Virginia

Elkton (formerly Conrad's Store) is an incorporated town in Rockingham County, Virginia, United States. It is included in the Harrisonburg Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 2,762 at the 2010 census. Elkton was named for the Elk Run stream. It is located along the south fork of the Shenandoah River at the intersections of east-west U.S. Route 33 and north-south U.S. Route 340. The town celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2008.

Miller–Kite House

Miller–Kite House, also known as Kite House, is a historic home located at Elkton, Rockingham County, Virginia. It was built in 1827, and is a two-story, five-bay, L-shaped brick I-house dwelling. It has a cross-gable roof with eaves decorated with sawnwork filigree. It is traditionally believed to have been the headquarters of General Stonewall Jackson during the time that the renowned Valley Campaign was planned in April 1862. The house is a town landmark and museum operated by the Elkton Historical Society. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

Cave Hill Farm

Cave Hill Farm is a historical farm at 9780 Cave Hill Road in McGaheysville, Virginia. The centerpiece of the farm is its main house, a two-story brick house with Federal and Greek Revival characteristics. The farm is named for a cave that is located on a limestone outcrop on the north side of Cave Hill Road. It is the source of a spring on the property, and was historically used for food storage. Since 1868 the property has been in the hands of Mann family descendants, the Hopkins, who operate a bed and breakfast inn.The farm was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2011.
