Bundoora Secondary College is a public secondary school for girls and boys in years 7 to 12 located in a residential block on the corner of Balmoral Avenue and Moreton Crescent in Bundoora, a suburb of Melbourne, Australia.

The La Trobe Institute for Molecular Science (LIMS) is an Australian institute based at La Trobe University in Melbourne. It contains research groups in life sciences (biochemistry and genetics), physical sciences (chemistry and physics), and applied sciences (pharmacy) and teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in these areas through the School of Molecular Sciences. Established in 2009, the institute has been led by Professor Andrew Hill since 2017.It also contains two biotech companies: Hexima and AdAlta. The institute is housed in three buildings: LIMS1 and LIMS2 on La Trobe University's main campus in Bundoora, and the Applied Science building on the Bendigo campus.

Kingsbury is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 12 km (7.5 mi) north-east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Darebin local government area. Kingsbury recorded a population of 3,460 at the 2021 census.The suburb was named after Bruce Kingsbury VC, who died in Papua New Guinea during the Second World War.

Glenn College is an Australian secular residential college located on the grounds of La Trobe University's principal campus in Melbourne, Victoria. Founded in 1967, it is the first and oldest residential college at the university. The college is named after the founding Chancellor of La Trobe University, Sir Archibald Glenn. There are up to 344 students residing at Glenn College with the majority of residents being undergraduates. Residents of the college are known as "Glennies".

Bundoora is an electoral district of the Victorian Legislative Assembly. It covers an area of 35 square kilometres (14 sq mi) in north-eastern Melbourne, encompassing the suburbs of Bundoora, Kingsbury, Watsonia and Watsonia North, and parts of Greensborough, Macleod, Mill Park and Yallambie. It also includes the central campus of La Trobe University. It lies within the Northern Metropolitan Region of the upper house, the Legislative Council.Bundoora has been a safe seat for the Labor Party throughout its history. It was first contested in 1976, and was won by John Cain, son of former premier John Cain. He rapidly rose through the parliamentary ranks to become Labor leader in 1981 and premier himself in 1982. Cain was comfortably re-elected throughout the 1980s, resigned as premier in 1990, and retired as member for Bundoora at the 1992 election.Cain was succeeded by Sherryl Garbutt, formerly the member for the abolished Greensborough. Garbutt served as a shadow minister in opposition from 1993 to 1999, and after Labor regained government at the 1999 election served as a minister in the first two terms of the Bracks government. She respectively served as Minister for Women's Affairs (1999-2002), Minister for Environment and Conservation (1999-2002) and Minister for Community Services (2002-2006), before retiring at the 2006 election.Following Garbutt's retirement announcement in 2005, Minister for Sport and Recreation and Minister for the Commonwealth Games Justin Madden, who held a seat in the Legislative Council, initially sought and won preselection for Bundoora. However, in October 2006, the month before the 2006 state election, the sudden retirement of Northcote MP Mary Delahunty resulted in a three-way deal that saw Fiona Richardson nominate for Northcote instead of the Legislative Council, Madden take Richardson's former place on the Legislative Council ticket, and former City of Banyule mayor Colin Brooks stand in Bundoora. Brooks had earlier challenged Madden for Bundoora preselection, but had withdrawn his nomination. Brooks won the seat, and was easily re-elected in 2010 and 2014.

La Trobe University is a public research university based in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Its main campus is located in the suburb of Bundoora. The university was established in 1964, becoming the third university in the state of Victoria and the twelfth university in Australia. Menzies College is an Australian secular residential college for undergraduate students at La Trobe University, Bundoora campus. Established in 1968, Menzies College is named after Sir Robert Menzies, 12th Prime Minister of Australia and the nation's longest-serving prime minister. Menzies College is located on the eastern side of the Melbourne (Bundoora) campus. The college is made up of single bedrooms with shared bathrooms and includes a café, fitness centre and gymnasium for use of the residents. Menzies College has a capacity of 385 residents. Dale Trendall, Australia's first Professor of Archaeology and La Trobe's only resident fellow lived at Menzies College from 1969 until his death in 1995.

The Springthorpe Estate, often shortened to Springthorpe, is a residential housing estate with an area of approximately 50 hectares located in the Melbourne suburb of Macleod in Victoria, Australia. It is surrounded by the Dunvegan Estate and Cherry Street Grasslands to the east, Gresswell Forest Nature Conservation Reserve to the north, La Trobe University to the west and La Trobe University and Macleod Estate to the south.
