The N. S. Mason House is a historic house at 58 Tremont Street in Taunton, Massachusetts. Built in 1865, the 2+1⁄2-story Italianate-style side-hall-plan house features decorative porch and window moldings and bracketed gables and eaves. A large wraparound porch is highlighted by a corner cupola. Its main entrance is flanked by sidelight windows and framed by a molded surround.The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. It is now occupied by a medical clinic.

The Kilmer Street Fire Station is a historic former fire station located at the corner of Oak and Kilmer Streets in Taunton, Massachusetts. It was built in 1915 to replace a previous station on Olney Street, and is the youngest of the city's five historic fire stations. The two story single bay structure features a pyramidal hipped roof and matching hose tower. The original bay door has been replaced to allow for larger vehicles. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. The building is currently used by the city for storage.

The School Street School is an historic school building at School and Fruit Streets in Taunton, Massachusetts. The school was designed by Gustavus L. Smith and built in 1896–97. The school's design is similar to that of two other Smith-designed schools in Taunton, Leonard School and Washington School; these schools are all two-story brick buildings with hip roofs. The School Street School was designed in the Georgian Revival style, which can be seen in its windows and corner quoins. The school served Taunton's large Portuguese immigrant population and was the only school in the city to offer instruction in the immigrants' native Portuguese.The School Street School was added to the National Register of Historic Places on July 5, 1984.

Taunton station was a passenger rail station located south of Oak Street in downtown Taunton, Massachusetts. As Taunton Central station, it served local and Boston-focused routes from 1836 to 1964. A later station at the same site served Amtrak's Cape Codder from 1986 to 1996, and Cape Cod and Hyannis Railroad commuter trains in 1988.

The Washington School is a historic school building at 40 Vernon Street in Taunton, Massachusetts. The two story brick building was designed Gustavus L. Smith, and built in 1897 during a period of burgeoning growth in the city. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. It has been converted to residential use.

The H.B. Lothrop Store is a historic commercial building located at 210 Weir Street in Taunton, Massachusetts. The Italianate style building was constructed in 1855 by H.B. Lothrop who operated a grocery store here into the 1880s.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. However, since that time the original clapboard siding has been covered with vinyl siding, and much of the original wood detailing has been lost. The original decorative front canopy has also been replaced.For a time the building was occupied by Art's International Bakery.

The George Dean House is a historic house located at 135 Winthrop Street in Taunton, Massachusetts.

The M.M. Rhodes and Sons Company is a historical button factory complex at 12 Porter Street in Taunton, Massachusetts. Established in 1861 and operational until 2014, it was one of the first successful papier-mâché shoe button manufacturers in the United States. Its surviving factory complex is one of the last early 20th-century complexes left on Taunton's once heavily industrialized south side. The complex was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2016.

The James Leonard House is a historic house at 3 Warren Street in Taunton, Massachusetts. It is a 2+1⁄2-story wood-frame house, five bays wide, with a side-gable roof, large central chimney, and wood shingle siding. The doors and windows have simple trim, those on the second floor abutting the eave. The house was built circa 1752 for James Leonard, muster master for Bristol County. during the American Revolutionary War, and descendant of the James Leonard who established the Taunton Iron Works in 1652. The house is characteristic of large farmhouses built in the region during the 18th century, and is one of the oldest on Warren Street.The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

The George Capron House is a historic house located at 6 North Pleasant Street in Taunton, Massachusetts.

Taunton State Hospital is a psychiatric hospital located on Hodges Avenue in Taunton, Massachusetts. Established in 1854, it was originally known as the State Lunatic Hospital at Taunton. It was the second state asylum in Massachusetts. Most of the original part of the facility was built in a unique and rare neo-classical style designed by architects Boyden & Ball. It is also a Kirkbride Plan hospital and is located on a large 154-acre (62 ha) farm along the Mill River.The complex was expanded at various times to include over forty buildings and structures. The main part of the hospital (known as "the Kirkbride Building") closed in 1975, and the buildings fell into disrepair. In 1994, the property was added to the National Register of Historic Places as a historic district. In 1999, the main dome of the administration building collapsed. In 2006, a large part of the historic complex was destroyed by fire. In 2009, the remaining parts were demolished. However, many of the newer buildings on the campus remain.
