Choateville is an unincorporated community on the western side of Franklin County, Kentucky along Kentucky Highway 1005 and Benson Creek. It is also a Census Designated Place (2629590). It currently has an elementary school of the Franklin County Public Schools, store, Baptist church, Christian church, and a Ruritan Club.Albert Lee Ueltschi attended a one room school in Choateville for four years before moving to Frankfort.

Franklin County is a county located in the U.S. state of Kentucky. As of the 2020 census, the population was 51,541, making it the 2nd least populous capital county in the United States after Hughes County, South Dakota. Its county seat is Frankfort, the state capital. The county was formed in 1795 from parts of Woodford, Mercer and Shelby counties, and was named after the American inventor and statesman Benjamin Franklin. Franklin County is part of the Frankfort, Kentucky Micropolitan Statistical Area. It shares a name with Franklin County in Ohio, where Columbus is located. This makes it one of two pairs of capital cities in counties of the same name, along with Marion Counties in Oregon and Indiana.

Liberty Hall is a historic house museum at 218 Wilkinson Street in Frankfort, Kentucky. Built 1796-1800 by American statesman John Brown, it was designated in 1971 as a U.S. National Historic Landmark for its association with Brown and its fine Federal-style architecture.

The Church of the Ascension is an Episcopal Church located in the heart of Frankfort, the U.S. state of Kentucky's historic district at 311 Washington Street. It was organized in 1836.The church is governed by a vestry of 8 to 10 members, presided over by the Senior Warden and the Rector. Vestry members are elected during an annual meeting of all of the congregation. Services are conducted by one or two priests and a deacon. Four to six children serve as acolytes in services, carrying the cross and torches. Organizations include the Altar Guild, which sets up for services, takes care of the sanctuary, and decorates; the vestry; the Youth Group; Sunday School; ECW, the women's association; and the Men's Club, which cooks breakfast on Sundays and helps raise money and care for the church.

The Mayo–Underwood School (1929–1964), a successor to the Clinton Street High School (1882/1884–1928), was a segregated public elementary and high school for African American students in Frankfort, Kentucky, United States. There is a historic plaque at the former site of the Mayo–Underwood School.

The Capital Plaza Office Tower was a 338-foot tall, 28-story office skyscraper located at 500 Mero Street in Frankfort, Kentucky. It was the tallest building in Frankfort and the 11th tallest building in the state of Kentucky.

Corner in Celebrities Historic District is a neighborhood located in the north section of Frankfort, Kentucky, that is designated an historic district because of the high concentration of structures that previously belonged to notable residents. The area contains the historic homes of George M. Bibb, Benjamin G. Brown, James Brown, John Brown, John J. Crittenden, Thomas Crittenden, James Harlan, John Marshall Harlan, Robert P. Letcher, William Lindsay, Thomas Metcalfe, Charles Slaughter Morehead, William Owsley, Hugh Rodman, Charles S. Todd, Thomas Todd, George G. Vest, John C. Watson, and Simeon Willis. The area was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 1971.The district is entirely included in the Central Frankfort Historic District, listed on the National Register in 2009.

The Frankfort Convention Center was a 5,000-seat multi-purpose arena in Frankfort, Kentucky, USA. It hosted locals sporting events and concerts. It was opened as part of the Capital Plaza urban renewal project in the 1970s. The arena's original name was the Farnham Dudgeon Civic Center. In January 2018, demolition on the facility started. Demolition was completed in Spring 2018. No replacement for the convention center were planned, and on 2022 there are still no plans to build a replacement. On Wednesday, January 20, 1999, the arena hosted an untelevised live event from World Championship Wrestling.

The Old United States Courthouse and Post Office building is a former post office and courthouse of the United States federal courts in Frankfort, Kentucky. Built during 1883 to 1887, the structure housed the United States District Court for the District of Kentucky from then until 1901 and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky from 1901 until it was succeeded. It was expanded with a rear wing in 1910 at which time interior offices were modified as well, to serve as a post office, which it did until 1965. In 1965 it housed the Paul Sawyier Library until 2008 when the library moved to the brick building next door. Today it is Downtown Annex for Kentucky State University. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.The limestone building with a steeply sloped slate roof was designed in the Second Empire and Châteauesque styles. It is a three-story 54 feet (16 m) by 94 feet (29 m) building built of masonry load-bearing walls with timber beams and trusses.

The Old Statehouse Historic District is an area in downtown Frankfort, Kentucky near the old State Capitol and the Old Governors Mansion. The area is bounded by Broadway Street, Blanton Street, St. Clair Street, Ann Street and High Street and contains 74 historic buildings. The historic district was added to the United States National Register of Historic Places in 1980.The district "represents an old, stable, and diversified middle-class neighborhood whose residents have serviced the government and the city throughout its existence."The district includes: the Old State Capitol (1827–30), "a hexastyle structure built of local stone" designed by Gideon Shryock, separately listed on the National Register in 1971; St. John's A.M.E. Church First Baptist Church (1904), Clinton St., whose congregation was formed of black members in 1833 out of what is now the First Baptist Church on St. Clair.The district was entirely included and subsumed in the Central Frankfort Historic District, which was created in 2009. The larger district's nomination included additional information regarding the Old Statehouse Historic District's area.
