Summit Point is an unincorporated community in Jefferson County in the U.S. state of West Virginia. The community is located along the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad at the intersection of West Virginia Secondary Route 1 and Summit Point Pike in the lower Shenandoah Valley.

The Battle of Summit Point, also known as Flowing Springs or Cameron's Depot, was an inconclusive battle of the American Civil War fought on August 21, 1864, near Summit Point, West Virginia.The battle was part of Union Maj. Gen. Philip Sheridan's Shenandoah Valley Campaign, which took place between August and December 1864. While Sheridan concentrated his army near Charles Town, Confederate Lt. Gen. Jubal A. Early and Maj. Gen. Richard H. Anderson attacked the Union forces with converging columns on August 21. Anderson struck north against the Union cavalry at Summit Point. The Union forces fought effective delaying actions, withdrawing to near Halltown on the following day. The battle resulted in approximately 1,000 casualties.

Swimley is an unincorporated community in northern Clarke County, Virginia. Swimley lies near the border with Jefferson County, West Virginia on Swimley Road (Virginia Secondary Route 672). Swimley is located off of Crums Church Road.

Glendale Farm is a historic home and farm located near Berryville, Clarke County, Virginia. The main house was built about 1847, and is a two-story, five-bay, double-pile, brick dwelling. The interior features most of its original provincial Greek Revival woodwork. Also on the property are the contributing one-story, two-unit kitchen/laundry/slave quarters outbuilding; Appalachian double-crib log barn; corn crib, granary, and hog shed.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.

White House Farm, also known as White House Tavern and the Dr. John McCormick House, listed in the National Register of Historic Places, is located in Jefferson County, West Virginia, near the small town of Summit Point, about six miles from Charles Town, West Virginia. The farm consists of a ca. 1740 farmhouse, a stone barn (the oldest standing in West Virginia), a springhouse of about the same age, a wooden curing shed, and 60+ acres of pasture and woods. The farm is one of the oldest in the county and has a rich history.

Cool Spring Farm, located near Charles Town, West Virginia was first established along Bullskin Run around 1750. The Federal style second house on the property, built in 1813, is extant, with a Greek Revival–influenced third house, built in 1832 that shows the evolution of the farmstead. The farm is significant as an example of agricultural development in the Bullskin Run district and as examples of Greek Revival and Federal style vernacular design.

Gaylord is an unincorporated community in northern Clarke County, Virginia. Gaylord is located on Lord Fairfax Highway (U.S. Route 340). The community had its own post office in operation from 1880 to 1956.
