Hilton Indianapolis

The Indianapolis Traction Terminal was a major interurban train station in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana. It was the largest interurban station in the world and at its peak handled 500 trains per day and seven million passengers per year. The station opened in 1904 and remained in use until 1941, when interurban operation ended. It continued to serve as a bus station until 1968 and was demolished in 1972. The Hilton Indianapolis now stands at its location.

Market Tower is a high-rise office building located at the northeast corner of Illinois and Market streets in Indianapolis, Indiana, United States. At the time of its completion in 1988, Market Tower was the largest privately financed speculative office project developed in the city. It is the fourth-tallest building in Indianapolis and the fifth-tallest building in Indiana. Market Tower is the second-tallest reinforced concrete building in the state, after the Indiana Michigan Power Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Downtown Indianapolis is a neighborhood area and the central business district of Indianapolis, Indiana, United States. Downtown is bordered by Interstate 65, Interstate 70, and the White River, and is situated near the geographic center of Marion County. Downtown has grown from the original 1821 town plat—often referred to as the Mile Square—to encompass a broader geographic area of central Indianapolis, containing several smaller historic neighborhoods. Downtown Indianapolis is the cultural, political, and economic center of the Indianapolis metropolitan area. Downtown Indianapolis anchors the city's burgeoning tourism and hospitality sector, home to nearly 8,000 hotel rooms and several of the city's major sporting and event facilities. Downtown contains numerous historic districts and properties, most of the city's memorials and monuments, performing arts venues, and museums. Since its founding in 1820, the seats of Indianapolis's local administration and Indiana's state government have been located Downtown. Downtown Indianapolis is also home to the highest density of commercial office space and employment in the state of Indiana.

The OneAmerica Tower, formerly AUL Tower, is a 38-story building at 200 North Illinois Street in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana. It is used by various companies for offices. The building opened in 1982 and is faced with Indiana limestone. From 1982 to 1990, the OneAmerica Tower was the tallest building in the state of Indiana. The OneAmerica Tower is currently the second-tallest building in Indianapolis, behind Salesforce Tower, as well as, the second-tallest in Indiana.There is no observation deck in the tower. However, views of Indianapolis and the surrounding cities can be seen from "The Skyline Club", a private club and restaurant on the 36th floor. The rest of the building is not accessible by the general public due to the addition of electronic turnstiles in front of the elevators in the lobby.

Indiana Repertory Theatre, frequently abbreviated IRT, is a professional regional theatre in Indianapolis, Indiana that began as a genuine repertory theatre with its casts performing in multiple shows at once. It has subsequently become a regional theatre and a member of the League of Resident Theatres. A standard season typically consists of nine or ten plays on two different stages (with at least two selected especially although not exclusively for student audiences, one of which is often a Shakespeare play) and the bulk of its season (including a holiday show, usually Charles Dickens's A Christmas Carol) performed on the OneAmerica Stage. The theatre company has history in two theatre buildings. It began in 1972 in The Athenaeum. In 1980, the IRT moved to its current home, The Indiana Theatre, a former Paramount Pictures Publix Theatre at 140 West Washington Street, built in 1927 and converted from a movie theater for IRT's use.

The Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA) is a governmental agency of the U.S. state of Indiana charged to work with local, state, and national partners providing resources and technical assistance that assist rural communities in shaping their visions for community economic development. Lt. Governor Sue Ellspermann oversaw the office that was created by legislation in 2005, making rural Indiana a major focus for the first time. Currently, Lt. Governor Crouch oversees the office that is run by OCRA Executive Director Jodi Golden.

Rink's Womens Apparel Store, also known as the Rink Building, is a historic commercial building located at Indianapolis, Indiana. It was built in 1910, and is a six-story, rectangular, steel frame building sheathed in clay tile and masonry. It measures approximately 120 feet by 70 feet and is four bays wide by seven long. It features large Chicago style window openings. The building housed the Rink's Womens Apparel Store, in operation until 1939.: 2–4 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. It is located in the Washington Street-Monument Circle Historic District.

John Tucker (born around 1800) was the victim of a racial terror lynching that took place on July 4, 1845, in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana. Tucker was a free Black man, a husband and a father, who was working as a farmer at the time of his death. Tucker was attacked and killed by three drunken white men in front of a crowd. Two of the men were arrested for Tucker's murder, but only one was convicted.

Capital Center South Tower is a high-rise office building located at 201 North Illinois Street in Indianapolis, Indiana. It was completed in 1987 and is 22 stories tall.

The Indiana Theatre is a multiple use performing arts venue located at 140 W. Washington Street in Indianapolis, Indiana. It was built as a movie palace and ballroom in 1927 and today is the home of the Indiana Repertory Theatre. It was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 1979. It is located in the Washington Street-Monument Circle Historic District.

Test Building, also known as the Circle Motor Inn, is a historic commercial building in Indianapolis, Indiana. It was built in 1925, and is a nine-story, reinforced concrete structure with 12-inch thick brick and clay tile curtain walls. It is faced with Indiana limestone and has a three-story brick penthouse and two-level basement. The mixed-use building housed the city's earliest large parking garages.: 2–5 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. It is in the Washington Street-Monument Circle Historic District.

The Indianapolis Artsgarden is a glassed dome spanning the intersection of Washington and Illinois streets in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana. It serves not only as a pedestrian connector between Circle Centre Mall and nearby office buildings and hotels but also as a venue for the display and performance of artistic and musical works (more than 300 performances take place in the Artsgarden each year). In addition, the Artsgarden houses the Cultural Concierge, which provides local arts and cultural information, maps, and visitor guides. The structure, including the walkways connecting it to the adjacent buildings, is owned and operated by the Arts Council of Indianapolis. The Artsgarden was designed by Ehrenkrantz Eckstut & Kuhn Architects who also designed the adjacent Circle Centre Mall. Blackburn Architects collaborated on the design and execution. The $12 million cost was funded by the Lilly Endowment. The floor of the Artsgarden stands 17 feet (5.2 m) above the intersection. A series of arched steel trusses creates a graduated set of glassed vaults, the tallest of which is 75 feet (23 m) above the floor and 95 feet (29 m) above the street. The design yields a total free-span length of 110 feet (34 m) within the dome. A total of 32,000 square feet (3,000 m2) of glass is used in the structure to give it an airy, open feel. The entire dome is set on two pairs of 185-foot (56 m) plate girders that diagonally span the intersection.When initially constructed in 1995, the Artsgarden connected the second level of Circle Centre Mall on the southeast corner of the intersection with an upper level of the Claypool Courts on the northwest corner, while stairways provided access to the ground-level sidewalks on the northeast and southwest corners. In 2006, the Conrad Indianapolis was built on the site of the small park that had been on the northeast corner and the stairway there was replaced with a direct connection to the hotel. In 2011 construction was started on a connector to the 16-story PNC Center and Hyatt Regency hotel complex on the southwest corner. The owners of the complex in 1995 had declined to help pay for the connector; in 2010 an agreement was reached to split the $1.2 million cost, completing the original concept of the Artsgarden. The connector was completed in January 2012.
