Eleanor Rigby is a statue in Stanley Street, Liverpool, England, designed and made by the entertainer Tommy Steele. It is based on the subject of the Beatles' 1966 song "Eleanor Rigby", which is credited to the Lennon–McCartney partnership.

The Pride Quarter, also known as the Stanley Street Quarter, Liverpool Gay Quarter or Village, is an area within Liverpool City Centre, England. It serves as the main focal point for Liverpool's lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community. The quarter is made up of mixed use developments including residential blocks, hotels, bars, nightclubs and various other businesses, many of which cater for the LGBT community. Aspects of the annual Liverpool Pride are also held in and around Stanley Street. The neighbourhood encompasses Stanley Street, Davies Street, Cumberland Street, Sir Thomas Street, Dale Street, Temple Street & Lane, Victoria Street, Hackins Hey, Leather Lane and Eberle Street. Stanley Street has often been seen as the symbolic heart of the 'gay quarter' and is where a significant number of the bars are found. On 12 August 2011, Liverpool City Council officially recognised the area as the city's 'gay quarter'.In June 2021, the district was rebranded as the 'Pride Quarter' with support from the Liverpool City Region Pride Foundation and Marketing Liverpool. The rebrand was intended to refresh and unite the UK’s first formally recognised LGBT+ area. It was also intended to cement the city's position as 'the most LGBT+ friendly in the UK' and mitigate the impact of COVID-19 restrictions on the various venues. To officially launch the reinvention, 13 LGBT venues in the quarter will hold the ‘Pride Quarter Indoor Festival’ on Saturday 31 July 2021. A dedicated page on the Visit Liverpool website will also be launched to promote the Pride Quarter as a destination in the city. Banners revealing the quarter’s new identity will also be installed on Stanley Street with more street dressing planned to follow.

Dale Street is a thoroughfare in Liverpool, England, in the Commercial Centre conservation area. The street together with Castle Street, Old Hall Street, Victoria Street and Water Street are the main commercial streets and occupy an area of the medieval town of Liverpool. It contains many Grade II listed buildings.Alois Hitler Jr, the half brother of Adolf Hitler, ran a restaurant there. Bridget Hitler, the wife of Alois, maintained that Adolf lived with them in Liverpool from 1912 to 1913 while he was on the run for dodging the draft in his native Austria-Hungary.

The Iron Door Club was a music venue at 13 Temple Street, Liverpool, England founded by Geoff Hogarth and Harry Ormesher. It opened in May 1960 and closed in 1964. The Searchers played there regularly and it was the first venue where the Beatles played under that name (strictly, the name they used there on 15 May 1960 was "Silver Beetles", having played at Liverpool's Lathom Hall as the Silver Beats on the previous night). The television performance by the band The Undertakers singing "Mashed Potato" was filmed at the Iron Door Club in 1963.When the club first opened as licensed premises in 1960, it had a capacity of some 1,650 people. In 1963, the adjacent warehouse was acquired. The basement and the ground floors of the two buildings were opened up into single spaces. In 1961 it became the Liverpool Jazz Society, and in 1962 the venue became the Storyville Jazz Club. In September 1962 the venue reverted to being known as the Iron Door Club once again. After the club closed in 1964 the premises became the Pyramid Club.The Iron Door Club is also the name of a Derby-based band which is inspired by 1960s bands such as the Searchers, who played at the original venue during its existence.

Liverpool Beatles Museum, formerly known as Magical Beatles Museum, is a museum dedicated to the Beatles located in 23 Mathew Street, Liverpool. The museum was created by Roag Best, son of Neil Aspinall and Mona Best, half-brother of Pete Best. It was inaugurated on 13 July 2018.The exposition displays 300 original items, with an addition of 1,200 in storage. It is located in a five-floor building, with three of the floors dedicated to a different period in the Beatles history. The first floor covers 1959–1962, while the second and third cover 1963–1966 and 1967–1970, respectively.Objects exposed include George Harrison's Futurama guitar, John Lennon's Sergeant Pepper medals, the cello from "I Am the Walrus" and Pete Best's Premier drum. Other items displayed are Paul McCartney's bass speaker, Lennon's custom-made egg chair, police log books listing the names of the officers who guarded the Beatles during their visit of New York City, the "All You Need Is Love" doll from the BBC Our World broadcast, and gifts that Elvis Presley gave to the Beatles.The building was a former warehouse from early 19th century and is listed as a Grade II by the English Heritage.

The Cavern Mecca was a Beatles museum in Liverpool. Founded in 1981 and named for the Cavern Club, it was instrumental in the birth of Beatles fan-based tourism in Liverpool. It was located on the corner of Rainford Square and Mathew Street. The museum was founded and run by Liz and Jim Hughes, who "single-handedly jump-started" what became the annual Beatles Convention in Liverpool, now part of the Beatles Week festival. When the museum and fan club were founded, the Beatles had been out of fashion and little acknowledged in Liverpool. The Cavern Club itself, where the Beatles had frequently played in their early years after returning from Hamburg, was closed in 1973 and later filled in as part of construction of the Merseyrail underground rail loop. In the same year as the opening of the Cavern Mecca, plans were announced to excavate and reopen the Cavern Club. The Cavern Club, complete with excavation of the original club, remained open from 1984 to 1989 before again closing, only to re-open again in 1991 as both a club and museum. The Cavern Mecca closed in December 1984 when founder Liz Hughes fell ill. Co-founder Jim Hughes died in 2018. In 2003, a signed copy of the Beatles album Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, together with an official souvenir programme from the fourth annual Beatles Convention of Cavern Mecca, sold for $290,000 at auction, breaking the record at the time for the price of a signed Beatles album cover.

The Armadillo Tea Rooms was a café in Liverpool that were a significant part of the early '80s music scene. This was helped by their proximity to Mathew Street and Probe Records.They were especially noted for the furry seat covers on the toilets. The building is now occupied by Flanagan's Apple.

Eric's Club was a music club in Liverpool, England. It opened on 1 October 1976 in the basement of The Fruit Exchange in Victoria Street, with performances by The Runaways and The Sex Pistols (their only Liverpool gig) before soon moving around the block to its long-term site on Mathew Street opposite The Cavern Club where The Beatles and other bands of the 1960s played, and became notable for hosting early performances by many punk and post-punk bands.The club was started by Roger Eagle and Ken Testi (manager of cult Liverpool band Deaf School) and joined later by Pete Fulwell (owner of a small record label "Inevitable" and later to become manager of Liverpool bands It's Immaterial and The Christians). The club was given the name 'Eric's' by Ken Testi as an antidote to disco clubs with names such as 'Tiffany's' and 'Samantha's'

The Cavern Club is a nightclub on Mathew Street, Liverpool, England. The Cavern Club opened in 1957 as a jazz club, later becoming a centre of the rock and roll scene in Liverpool in the early 1960s. The club became closely associated with Merseybeat and regularly played host to the Beatles in their early years.The Cavern Club closed and opened on a new site in 1973 and was filled in during construction work on the Merseyrail underground rail loop. It reopened in 1984.

Fowler’s Buildings is an office building and warehouse located at 3–9 Victoria Street and 1–3 Temple Lane. Liverpool, England. They were constructed in two phases between 1865 and 1869, for the Fowler brothers, who were produce dealers, and were designed by the local architect J. A. Picton. The whole structure is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building.The style of the Victoria Street frontage is freely adapted from Italian Renaissance architecture. It has three storeys and a basement, and is in nine bays. The basement is rusticated. Along the exterior of the principal floor are eight polished granite Tuscan columns. The floor above this has windows with "curvy" surrounds, which are almost Baroque in style. Along the top floor are round-headed windows. At the summit of the building is a cornice, and a segmental pediment surmounted by an urn. The warehouse extends behind the offices along Temple Lane, and is constructed in polychromic brick. It is in five storeys with a basement, and has 14 bays.

Victoria Street is a road in Liverpool, England. Situated in the city centre, it runs between the Queensway Tunnel entrance to Cook Street.
