Glen Burnie station (formerly Cromwell / Glen Burnie) is a Baltimore Light Rail station in Glen Burnie, Maryland. It is one of the system's two southern terminals, and one of two stations in Glen Burnie. Trains depart Glen Burnie bound for Timonium station (during peak commuting hours on weekdays) or Hunt Valley station (at all other times). Unlike the nearby Ferndale station, there are currently 795 free parking spaces and connections can be made to MTA Maryland's Route 14 bus from here. South of the station, the lines terminate on an embankment on the northwest corner of Maryland Route 648 and Maryland Route 176 to the east of Interstate 97, and the right of way is replaced by the Baltimore and Annapolis Rail Trail.

First Avenue School is a historic school building at Glen Burnie, Anne Arundel County, Maryland. It is a large classically inspired building prominently situated on a mostly residential street, one block west of Glen Burnie's central business district. It was built and probably designed by Edward Woodfall, a noted local architect and builder. The school has two sections; one built in 1899 and a second in 1917. The first section is a brick, one-story, two-room, hip-roofed building now serves as a rear wing to the 1917 addition. The large two-story brick gable-roofed Classical Revival-style addition more than quadrupled the school's size. After closure as a school, the building was used as a beauty school and church, and is being converted to condominiums.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.

Glen Burnie High School is a large public high school located in the Baltimore suburb of Glen Burnie, Maryland, United States. Founded in 1923, the school is part of the Anne Arundel County Public Schools system. Today, Glen Burnie Senior High School is a bustling campus-style high school consisting of six buildings and athletic fields. In addition to serving as the educational institution for the area's school population, it is also the center for many community activities.

The Centre at Glen Burnie was an enclosed shopping mall in Glen Burnie, Maryland. It is owned by Goodman Properties and managed by 6711 Glen Burnie Retail, LLC a subsidiary of LNR Property Inc. The property has now been turned into a shopping center with the following anchors: Burlington, Ollie's Bargain Outlet, and Target.

Ferndale station is a Baltimore Light Rail station in Glen Burnie, Maryland. Northbound trains depart for Timonium, continuing on at off-peak hours to Hunt Valley; southbound trains depart for Glen Burnie. There is currently no free public parking or bus connections at this station.Ferndale is located on 10 Broadview Boulevard across from Ferndale Road. An extension of Ferndale Road crosses the tracks from Baltimore-Annapolis Boulevard (MD 648), but only runs one way westbound. A local firehouse is also located near the station, and has a private access road to Route 648 that crosses the tracks. The station itself is the least used station in all of the Baltimore Light Rail network with 93 exits/entries in 2017.

Glen Burnie is an unincorporated town and census-designated place (CDP) in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, United States. It is a suburb of Baltimore. The population was 72,891 at the 2020 census.

North County High School is an Anne Arundel County Public Schools high school located in Glen Burnie, Maryland, United States. The school was established in 1990 as a result of the merger of Andover High School and Brooklyn Park High School. It later moved into the former Lindale Junior High School building, with Lindale moving to the former Andover site. The school mascot is the Knight and the school colors are silver, red and black, chosen by the school students and faculty of both Andover and Brooklyn Park High Schools. North County's rival is Glen Burnie High School. It is the primary high school for students living in Linthicum, Brooklyn Park, Ferndale, and portions of the Glen Burnie and Hanover areas. North County High School has a rigorous STEM Magnet Program, and the IT3 (International Trade, Transportation, and Tourism) Signature Program. The school has a multitude of college course offerings such as Advanced Placement. North County became one of the campuses for Anne Arundel Community College in 2012. In 2016, North County High School German teacher, Katrina Griffin, was named the 2017 National Language Teacher of the Year by the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages.

Harundale (pronounced HAIR-un-DALE) is an unincorporated community in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, United States. In 1947, the Byrne Organization made news when it set up a prefabrication shop on the 300-acre site and churned out parts for all 1,200 homes at once. The houses featured welded steel frames which formed the basis of a structure using other materials. Outside walls were a choice of brick, shingle, or aluminum siding over redwood. Inside walls were plaster. The houses were constructed in two different styles with three or four rooms on a concrete slab, which sold for $6,900. The community was one of largest prefabricated developments in America. Their construction marked the start of phenomenal post-World War II suburbanization of previously rural Anne Arundel County. Most homes were three-bedroom and were front facing the street. A very few were side facing the street and a small number were two-bedroom units. The Governor Ritchie Highway split the community into East and West sections. The West section consisted of primarily rental units, whereas the East section homes were owned. Heating was by infloor radiant heat. The community had its own artesian well water plant. It shared an elementary school with the community of Glen Gardens in Glen Bernie and was therefore called “Glen”dale”. Community street names were all of British derivation. They ran alphabetically from North to South on both the East and West sides but were different on each side. The needs of the new community's more than 5,000 people were first served by a strip shopping center. Harundale Mall, reportedly the first enclosed shopping mall east of the Mississippi River, was opened in 1958.

Harundale Mall, in Glen Burnie, Anne Arundel County, Maryland, United States at the intersection of Ritchie Highway and Aquahart Road, was the first enclosed, air-conditioned mall built east of the Mississippi River. Originally built in 1958, the mall closed in 1997 and was demolished and redeveloped into Harundale Plaza, a shopping center anchored by Lidl and Regency Furniture.

Sunnyfields is a historic home at Linthicum Heights, Anne Arundel County, Maryland, United States. It is partially brick, two and a half stories tall and three bays wide, and was built in 1810. The east portion is of frame construction, six bays long, and two stories high and dates from about 1785. It has characteristics from several periods of Maryland architecture: pre-Federal vernacular (original frame wing), high style Federal (brick wing), and early-20th century mass-produced Classical Revival (columns and stair added in pre-Federal portion).Sunnyfields was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

Maryland's Legislative District 31 is one of 47 districts in the state for the Maryland General Assembly. It covers part of Anne Arundel County. Up until the 2020 United States redistricting cycle, the district was divided into two sub-districts for the Maryland House of Delegates: District 31A and District 31B.

Maryland's 3rd congressional district comprises all of Howard county as well as parts of Anne Arundel and Carroll counties. The seat is currently represented by John Sarbanes, a Democrat. Three people who represented Maryland in the United States Senate were also former representatives of the 3rd district, including Ben Cardin, Barbara Mikulski, and Paul Sarbanes. The district's previously odd shape was attributed to gerrymandering to favor Democratic candidates, following the 2000 and 2010 censuses. In 2012, the district was found to be the third least compact congressional district in the United States, and in 2014, The Washington Post called it the nation's second-most gerrymandered district. John Sarbanes, the current Democratic Representative for the district, put forth the For the People Act of 2019 to address electoral reform, voting rights, and gerrymandering in the United States. Following the 2020 redistricting cycle, it now comprises Howard County, most of Anne Arundel County including Glen Burnie and Annapolis, and part of Carroll County, specifically the areas around Mount Airy, and its incumbent representative John Sarbanes no longer lives in the district.
