Świecie (Polish: [ˈɕfjɛt͡ɕɛ] ; German: Schwetz) is a town in northern Poland with 24,841 inhabitants (2023), capital of Świecie County in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship. It is located within the ethnocultural region of Kociewie in the historic region of Pomerania. Founded in the Middle Ages, Świecie prospered as a trade center due to its location at the intersection of important trade routes. The town features heritage sites in a variety of styles, including Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque, Neo-Renaissance and Neo-Gothic, a preserved market square, and the region's sole Museum of Firefighting. Świecie is home to one of the oldest psychiatric hospitals in Poland.

The gmina covers an area of 174.81 square kilometres (67.5 sq mi), and as of 2023 its total population is 32,807 (out of which the population of Świecie amounts to 24,841, and the population of the rural part of the gmina is 7,966).

The only other town in the county is Nowe, lying 33 km (21 mi) north-east of Świecie. The county covers an area of 1,472.78 square kilometres (568.6 sq mi). As of 2019 its total population is 99,154, out of which the population of Świecie is 25,723, that of Nowe is 5,827, and the rural population is 67,604.

It lies approximately 3 kilometres (2 mi) north-west of Świecie, 45 km (28 mi) north-east of Bydgoszcz, and 47 km (29 mi) north of Toruń.

Gmina Chełmno is a rural gmina (administrative district) in Chełmno County, Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, in north-central Poland. Its seat is the town of Chełmno, although the town is not part of the territory of the gmina. The gmina covers an area of 114.05 square kilometres (44.0 sq mi), and as of 2006 its total population is 5,239.

Chełmno County (Polish: powiat chełmiński) is a unit of territorial administration and local government (powiat) in Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, north-central Poland. It came into being on 1 January 1999, as a result of the Polish local government reforms adopted in 1998. Its administrative seat and only town is Chełmno, which lies 40 km (25 mi) north of Toruń and 40 km (25 mi) north-east of Bydgoszcz. The county covers an area of 527.62 square kilometres (203.7 sq mi). As of 2019 its total population is 52,018, out of which the population of Chełmno is 19,605 and the rural population is 32,413. The county includes the protected area called Chełmno Landscape Park, which stretches along the right bank of the Vistula river.

Terespol Pomorski (Polish: [tɛˈrɛspɔl pɔˈmɔr.ski]), known in the local gmina as simply Terespol (Polish: [tɛˈrɛspɔl]), is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Świecie, within Świecie County, Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, in north-central Poland. It is located within the ethnocultural region of Kociewie. In the years of 1975–1998, the town belonged administratively to the Bydgoszcz Voivodeship. In the village there are, among others: a primary school named after Tadeusz Kościuszko, the former school building (currently a residential building), the chapel of the parish of St. Wawrzyńca in Przysiersk, and a railway station with a station building from the early 20th century. On September 29, 1987, at the railway station, due to a driver's error, there was a collision between a freight train and an express train "Bałtyk".
