Calumet Park (formerly DeYoung) is a village in Cook County, Illinois. The population was 7,025 at the 2020 census.On May 13, 2010, Mayor Joseph DuPar and the Village Board approved renaming 127th Street as Obama Drive, in honor of the 44th President of the United States. On August 21, 2010, State Senator Emil Jones III read a proclamation of the Illinois Senate in honor of the dedication on the same date. This road became the first Obama Drive in the country and the first road named after President Barack Obama in his home state of Illinois.

Racine Avenue is a commuter rail station along the Blue Island Branch of the Metra Electric line in the West Pullman neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. The station is officially located at Racine Avenue, South of 120th Street, and is 17.0 miles (27.4 km) away from the northern terminus at Millennium Station. In Metra's zone-based fare system, Racine Avenue is in zone C. As of 2018, Racine Avenue is the 221st busiest of Metra's 236 non-downtown stations, with an average of 28 weekday boardings.Racine Avenue is the last station along the Blue Island Branch within the Chicago city limits. Parking is available exclusively along 121st Street between South Elizabeth and South Racine Avenues. No bus connections are available at this station. A station typology adopted by the Chicago Plan Commission on October 16, 2014, assigns the Racine Avenue station a typology of Mixed Residential/Industrial Neighborhood (MRIN). This typology is an area in which the Metra station serves both residential and industrial uses. Like most of the MRIN stations, it does not have access to CTA rail.

Burr Oak is a commuter rail station along the Blue Island Branch of the Metra Electric line in Calumet Park, Illinois. The station is located on Burr Oak Avenue near Lincoln Street, and is 18.4 miles (29.6 km) away from the northern terminus at Millennium Station. In Metra's zone-based fare system, Burr Oak is in zone D. As of 2018, Burr Oak is the 193rd busiest of Metra's 236 non-downtown stations, with an average of 89 weekday boardings. It borders the City of Blue Island. Parking is available behind the station on the southeast corner of Burr Oak Avenue and Winchester Street. One Pace bus connection is available at the station.

Raceway Park (1938–2000) was a quarter-mile stock car race track located in Blue Island, Illinois, on 130th Street and Ashland Avenue between Western Avenue and Halsted Avenue, used for stock car races from the mid-1930s until 2000. In all advertising, it was billed as being located in Blue Island, Illinois, but was really located right across the border in the town of Calumet Park.

123rd Street is one of four Metra railroad stations in Blue Island, Illinois, along the Beverly Branch of the Rock Island District Line, and five within Blue Island generally. It is 15.2 miles (24.5 km) from LaSalle Street Station, the northern terminus of the line, and is named after and located on 123rd Street. In Metra's zone-based fare system, 123rd Street is in zone C. As of 2018, 123rd Street is the 211th busiest of Metra's 236 non-downtown stations, with an average of 53 weekday boardings.As of 2022, 123rd Street is served as a flag stop by 40 trains (20 in each direction) on weekdays, by 21 trains (10 inbound, 11 outbound) on Saturdays, and by 16 trains (eight in each direction) on Sundays and holidays. 123rd Street was originally in zone D of Metra’s zone-based fare system, but was moved into zone C as part of a pilot program that lowered fares on the Rock Island and Metra Electric District lines. Parking is available on the northeast side of the tracks north along 123rd Street. The station is little more than an enclosed sheltered platform, and is a flag stop. No bus connections are available.

It is 14.8 miles (23.8 km) from LaSalle Street Station, the northern terminus of the line, and is named after 119th Street and located between 119th Street and 119th Place. In Metra's zone-based fare system, 119th Street is in zone C. As of 2018, 119th Street is the 150th busiest of Metra's 236 non-downtown stations, with an average of 269 weekday boardings.As of 2022, 119th Street is served by 40 trains (20 in each direction) on weekdays, by 21 trains (10 inbound, 11 outbound) on Saturdays, and by 16 trains (eight in each direction) on Sundays and holidays. Parking is available on the west side of the tracks south of 119th Street in front of the station house, and on both sides of the tracks north of 119th Street. On the northwest side, parking is available off South Hale Avenue, and on the northeast side along Vincennes Avenue. South of the station, the tracks cross Vincennes Avenue.

Prairie Street is one of four Metra railroad stations in Blue Island, Illinois along the Beverly Branch of the Rock Island District Line, and one of five total within the town of Blue Island. It is 15.8 miles (25.4 km) from LaSalle Street Station, the northern terminus of the line, and is both located on and named after Prairie Street. In Metra's zone-based fare system, Prairie Street is in zone D. As of 2018, Prairie Street is the 220th busiest of Metra's 236 non-downtown stations, with an average of 30 weekday boardings.As of 2022, Prairie Street is served as a flag stop by 40 trains (20 in each direction) on weekdays, by 21 trains (10 inbound, 11 outbound) on Saturdays, and by 16 trains (eight in each direction) on Sundays and holidays. Parking is available on both sides of the tracks at a dead end at Prairie Street, south of the Burr Oak Avenue Bridge, which also crosses the main line and the freight yards between the two lines, the Burr Oak Yard on the north side of the bridge and the Iowa Interstate Railroad-Chicago Rail Link. Though a station house exists it contains no agent, and the station is a flag stop. No bus connections are available.

West Pullman is a commuter rail station along the Blue Island Branch of the Metra Electric line in the West Pullman neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. It is located over Halsted Street halfway between 120th and 122nd Streets, and is 16.7 miles (26.9 km) away from the northern terminus at Millennium Station. In Metra's zone-based fare system, West Pullman is in zone C. As of 2018, West Pullman is the 232nd busiest of Metra's 236 non-downtown stations, with an average of 13 weekday boardings.Although most of the Blue Island Branch contains only one track, there are two tracks at West Pullman. The only other station along the branch that has two tracks is the terminus at Blue Island itself. One parking lot exists on the north side of the tracks along the southbound lane of Halsted Street. Due to its close proximity to the outskirts of Chicago, the station provides bus connections from both the Chicago Transit Authority and Pace suburban bus system. 115th Street–Morgan Park is one of two Metra railroad stations in the Morgan Park neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois, along the Beverly Branch of the Rock Island District Line. It is 14.3 miles (23.0 km) from LaSalle Street Station, the northern terminus of the line. In Metra's zone-based fare system, 115th Street is in zone C. As of 2018, 115th Street–Morgan Park was the 176th busiest of Metra's 236 non-downtown stations, with an average of 136 weekday boardings.As of 2022, 115th Street–Morgan Park is served by 40 trains (20 in each direction) on weekdays, by 21 trains (10 inbound, 11 outbound) on Saturdays, and by 16 trains (eight in each direction) on Sundays and holidays. Parking is available along the west side of the tracks on South Hale Avenue between Edmaire Street and north of 116th Street. It is also available on small on-street lots along the north side of 115th Street between the tracks and Church Street. No bus connections are available. The train station building was damaged by a fire in May 2017 and subsequently demolished. Officials ruled that arson was the cause of the fire.

The Joshua P. Young House, also known as the McGee House, is a historic house at 2445 High Street in Blue Island, Illinois. The house was built in 1852 for land developer Joshua P. Young, who led the development of both Blue Island and many neighborhoods on Chicago's South Side. Young also helped bring the Rock Island Railroad through Blue Island and led the city's Board of Trustees for two years. The house has a Chicago Cottage plan, a style of balloon framing popular in mid-nineteenth century Chicago; as the style was banned in Chicago after the Great Chicago Fire burned through many of the homes, surviving examples are relatively uncommon. The house's detailing is eclectic, incorporating elements of Greek Revival, Italianate, and Gothic architecture.The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places on August 12, 1982.

Blue Island–Vermont Street is a Metra station in Blue Island, Illinois, servicing the Rock Island District and Metra Electric District Lines. On the Rock Island, it is 16.4 miles (26.4 km) from LaSalle Street Station. For the Metra Electric, it is the southern terminus of the Blue Island Branch, and is 18.9 miles (30.4 km) from Millennium Station. On the Rock Island Line, as of 2022, Blue Island-Vermont Street is served by 74 trains (37 in each direction) on weekdays, by all 33 trains (16 inbound, 17 outbound) on Saturdays, and by all 28 trains (14 in each direction) on Sundays and holidays. On weekdays, 16 inbound trains originate, and 16 outbound trains terminate, at Vermont Street. On weekends and holidays, six inbound trains originate, and six outbound trains terminate, at Vermont Street. All trains that terminate/originate from here travel along the Rock Island's Beverly Branch, with all Main Line trains originating or terminating at points further south. On the Metra Electric Line, as of 2022, Blue Island is served by 18 trains (eight inbound, 10 outbound) on weekdays, and by eight trains (four in each direction) on Saturdays, with no service on the branch on Sundays or holidays. The two stations share the same parking facilities and the same bus connections. Although these two stations are across the street from each other and trains do not use the same platform areas, the proximity of the two to each other functionally allows riders to transfer from one to the other with only a very short walk (less than an eighth of a mile) between them. Blue Island-Vermont Street is one of the busiest stations on the Rock Island District. It is the centerpiece of the entire line, historically and presently. Many trains terminate here, most of them locals on the Beverly Branch, and most rush hour trains stop at this station, running express to and from this station. A coach yard is located just north of the station and is used to store out-of-service trains when not in use. Vermont Street is a favorite of railfans due to its unique four-track setup, frequent train action, and switching movements. Later on in the day, Iowa Interstate Railroad runs a daily freight train along the Rock Island tracks, from Blue Island to Council Bluffs, Iowa. For this reason, this daily freight train is officially named the BICB. Blue Island's police and fire departments are located several blocks away from Vermont Street. Blue Island–Vermont Street station and Blue Island station are both in zone D of Metra's zone-based fare system. As of 2018, Blue Island-Vermont Street station on the Rock Island District is the 84th busiest of Metra's 236 non-downtown stations, with an average of 595 weekday boardings. Blue Island station on Metra Electric is the 164th busiest of Metra's 236 non-downtown stations, with an average of 197 weekday boardings.
