Gardner J. Kingman House

The Old Post Office Building is a historic building in Brockton, Massachusetts. The two story brick Colonial Revival-style post office was built in 1898 and expanded in 1932. It was designed under the auspices of the federal government's supervising architect, James Knox Taylor, as a copy of Independence Hall in Philadelphia. The building was renovated in 1977 and became home of the Brockton Public Schools central administration offices. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

The Romanesque Revival structure was designed by local architect Wesley Lyng Minor, and built in 1892–94. It has entrances on three sides, each under a round Richardsonian arch with carved voussoirs. Its most prominent feature is a five-story tower, decorated with terra cotta panels and topped by a steeply-pitched Gothic style hip roof. The east elevation also has a three-story circular tower topped by a battlement. It was the first purpose-built building for housing the city's offices. The grand hall of the interior features murals depicting scenes of the American Civil War, painted by Richard Holland and Mortimer Lamb in 1893.The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.

The Curtis Building is a historic commercial building in Brockton, Massachusetts, USA. The three story brick building was built in 1870, and is a fine local example of Romanesque styling. It features panel brick pilasters on the corners, and panel brick decoration in the cornices. Its window bays (three on Main Street, five on High Street), consist of paired windows separated by brick piers; the third floor windows are set in double round-arch openings.The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

Built in 1883, it was designed by local architect Wesley Lyng Minor. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978, but was destroyed by fire in 1980 and subsequently removed from the Register.

It was one of the earliest power plants built by Thomas Edison. The plant opened on October 1, 1883. It contained three "H" dynamos capable of powering about 1600 lamps.The Brockton plant was soon followed by others in Lawrence and Fall River, Massachusetts, and Newburgh, New York. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1987.

The Central Fire Station is a historic fire station on 40 Pleasant Street in Brockton, Massachusetts. Built in 1884–85, the three story brick mansard-roofed Second Empire building included a number of "firsts". It was the first brick fire house in the city, and it was the nation's first fire house to be electrified, receiving its power via an underground cable from a nearby power plant that had been built under the supervision of Thomas Alva Edison.The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977.
