Palazzo Cassoli

The Sala del Tricolore (lit. 'Room of the Tricolor'), formerly the Patriotic Hall, is an historical hall that currently serves as the council chamber of the comune (municipality) of Reggio Emilia, northern Italy. It was designed by the architect Lodovico Bolognini as the archive of the ducal family of Este. In the Sala del Tricolore, on 7 January 1797, the flag of Italy (also known as "the Tricolor") was born, hence the name of the hall. Adjacent to the room is the Tricolour Flag Museum, whose collection is made up of relics related to the Italian flag.

Reggio nell'Emilia (Emilian: Rèz; Latin: Regium Lepidi), usually referred to as Reggio Emilia, or simply Reggio by its inhabitants, and known until 1861 as Reggio di Lombardia, is a city in northern Italy, in the Emilia-Romagna region. It has about 171,944 inhabitants and is the main comune (municipality) of the Province of Reggio Emilia. The inhabitants of Reggio nell'Emilia are called Reggiani, while the inhabitants of Reggio di Calabria, in the southwest of the country, are called Reggini. The old town has a hexagonal form, which derives from the ancient walls, and the main buildings are from the 16th–17th centuries. The commune's territory lies entirely on a plain, crossed by the Crostolo stream.

The Diocese of Reggio Emilia–Guastalla (Latin: Dioecesis Regiensis in Aemilia–Guastallensis) is a Latin diocese of the Catholic Church in Emilia-Romagna, Italy. It has existed in its current form since 1986. In that year the historical Diocese of Reggio Emilia was united with the Diocese of Guastalla. The diocese is a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Modena–Nonantola.Originally the diocese was part of the ecclesiastical province of Milan, then it was suffragan to the Archbishop of Ravenna. Because of the schism of the Antipope Clement III, Pope Paschal II released the dioceses of Emilia, including Reggio, from obedience to the church of Ravenna, and made them directly subject to the Holy See (Rome), but twelve years later Pope Gelasius II restored the previous status. In 1582 the diocese of Bologna was raised to the status of a metropolitan archbishopric. Reggio was made a suffragan of the archdiocese of Bologna, by Pope Gregory XIII in the bull Universi orbis of 10 December 1582. Modena was raised to the status of an archdiocese and its bishop to the status of a Metropolitan Archbishop by Pope Pius IX in his bull of 22 August 1855, entitled Vel ab antiquis. Reggio became one of its suffragans.

The Palazzo da Mosto is a Renaissance-style palace located on Via Giovanni Battista Mari 7 in the northwest of the historic center of the town of Reggio Emilia in Italy. The palace was commissioned in 1488 from the architect Biagio Rossetti by Francesco da Mosto, the massaro or bailiff of the town, working under the Duke of Este. By the second half of the 19th century, the property was acquired by the wealthy banker, Pietro Manodori, who established a school for young children and infants. The property remained a school until 1991. In 2005, under the auspices of the Fondazione Manodori, a charitable arm of the Cassa di Risparmio di Reggio Emilia, the palace was restored, and now serves as an exhibition hall and for cultural events. Notable is the frieze of tondos with busts below the roofline. The interior has a baroque staircase leading to the Piano Nobile.

Palazzo Spalletti-Trivelli (formerly Guicciardi) is a palace located at Via Emilia A San Pietro #2, corner with Via San Nicolò, in the center of the city of Reggio Emilia, region of Emilia Romagna, Italy. The building now belongs to the Credito Emiliano (Credem) bank, and owns the art collection now in the palace.

Palazzo Tirelli (formerly Gabbi) is a building in the historical centre of Reggio Emilia, northern Italy. The building was built in the 17th century as the city residence for the marquises Gabbi. In the beginning of the 19th century the palazzo was sold to the noble family Tirelli; in 1970, they sold a part of it to a club called Società del Casino, that at present still owns it. The rotary club of Reggio also has its head office on the ground floor. The grand staircase leads to the rooms of the first floor decorated with stucco and frescos of the local painter Prospero Zanichelli. The biggest room, 13 metres high, is decorated with beautiful frescos and 8 paintings that represent Homeric scenes, by Francesco Vellani from Modena.

The Palazzo Fontanelli Sacrati, also known as the Palazzo Terrachini or Terracini or just Sacrati, is a Gothic and Renaissance-style palace with a main facade located on Via Emilia San Pietro #27 in the historic center of the town of Reggio Emilia, region of Emilia Romagna, in Italy. It is now used for private and cultural events. A palace at the site was initially commissioned in 1492 by the Fontanelli family, modifying a set of buildings at the site into a joined structure with a uniform facade. The foliated portico columns with gothic spandrels and the second story mullioned windows differ from the more classical, decorated portal, with motifs recalling Ancient Roman celebrations of trimphal arms. A refurbishment in 1928-1929 aimed to restore the original elements to the facade and courtyards. The main courtyard has an original well structure. The ceiling of the main staircase was frescoed with an allegory of Aurora and her carriage in the 19th century.

The Basilica of San Prospero is a Renaissance-style, Roman Catholic church with a late Baroque-style facade, located on Piazza di San Prospero in central Reggio Emilia, Italy.

Palazzo Cassoli – Tirelli is a building located at Via Toschi, 32, in the historic centre of Reggio Emilia, Italy. It was built in 1915 as the city residence for count Giuseppe Cassoli and his wife countess Barbara Tirelli. The project of the building was made by Luigi Caldini from Florence, in the new eclectic Neo-gothic-style with turrets and merlionated rooflines. The family kept an important art collection in the building until they lived there. The country residence of the counts was the "Il Più Bello" (the most beautiful) castle, located between the towns of Albinea and Puianello in the hills near Reggio. At present the Association of the Industrialists of Reggio Emilia has its head office in the building.

The Palazzo del Capitano del Popolo (Palace of the Captain of the People) is a Gothic-style civic building located facing the piazza del Monte in the historic center of the town of Reggio Emilia in Italy. The structure was erected in 1280 as the home and office of the town captain, who was required to be a foreigner representing the Lords of the Duchy. This position was abrogated in 1326. The building was refurbished in 1432. In 1515 the building housed the Ospizio del Cappello Rosso or Red Hat Inn. In 1913 the Inn was modernized and became the Posta Hotel. It still houses a hotel. In 1920–1929, a further refurbishment attempted to restore the medieval appearance of the building. Inside is the large meeting hall (Sala dei Difensori) in which city council meetings were held.

The Palazzo Busetti or Bussetti, is a Baroque-style palace with a main facade located on Piazza del Monte 6, but structures connected with the palace are flanked by the via Francesco Crispi and Don Giuseppe Andreoli, in the historic center of the town of Reggio Emilia in Italy. The main palace facade faces the side of the Palazzo del Capitano del Popolo and the Palazzo del Monte di Pieta. The original palace was begun in 1657 by Count Ferdinando Busetti, who had gained a fortune in the commerce of silk. Construction continued until 1574, but by 1699, the Busetti family, lacking heirs, the property under guidance of an endowment was put to various uses. In 1699, it was occupied by the Bishop's Seminary, and soon by the Jesuit college. A small theater and church were added. From 1752 to 1783, the building housed offices and classrooms for the University of Reggio Emilia, before again housing the Jesuits. In 1921, after much refurbishment, the palace was subdivided into various businesses, including a celebrated Ristorante-caffè Busetti, the offices for the newspaper L’Italia Centrale, and offices of the Banca Commerciale Italiana. In 1939–1950, the theater and convent were rebuilt for alternate uses. The portico was placed at an alternative facade. The buildings now house boutique stores, offices, and apartments.

The Parisetti or Omozzoli Parisetti Hospital was once housed on the building on Via Toschi #24 in central Reggio Emilia, Italy, now housing the a nursing home (‘’casa di riposo’’) for the elderly ‘’Istituto Omozzoli Parisetti’’. For over 200 years, the site housed a hospice/hospital; it stands across the street from the Palazzo Masdoni and further along the street is the Palazzo Spalletti-Trivelli. In 1699, the Count Paolo degli Omozzoli Parisetti built the oratory of Saints Pellegrino and Rocco at this site. In the late 1670s, his wealthy merchant family had been elevated into the aristocracy. Since 1410, the family had maintained a hospital, mainly servicing ill and poor pilgrims, and dedicated to Santa Maria della Carità near the church of San Raffaele. The building and integrated chapel has undergone a number of refurbishments, and the façade reflects mainly the reconstruction in the early 18th-century. In 1767, the Este family suppressed the hospice; but at present it regained part of its purpose as a home for the elderly. The external entrance to the chapel stands at the last bay on the right, above the entrance is a medieval plaque. The chapel has an baroque altarpiece, below an oval with a depiction of St George.
