Voghjaberd (Armenian: Ողջաբերդ, also Romanized as Vokhchaberd) is a village in the Kotayk Province of Armenia.

Erebuni State Reserve (Armenian: Էրեբունի պետական արգելոց, romanized: Erebuni petakan argelots'), is a nature reserve in Yerevan, Armenia, designated in 1981. It is located around 8 km southeast of the capital's city-centre, in the Erebuni District. In 2015, the reserve was increased from 89 to 120 hectares, gaining 31 hectares in Voghjaberd. The reserve is mainly semi-deserted mountain-steppe and has an elevation of 1300-1450 meters above sea level.The reserve was formed to protect the wild types of Poaceae, including the Triticum araraticum. Many of the protected species are included in the Red Book of Armenia.It also has many other protected and endemic plant species, including Iris elegantissima.The reserve is also home to many types of amphibians, including Pelobates syriacus, marsh frog and European green toad. Many types of rodents are also found in the reserve.

Hatsavan (Armenian: Հացավան, also Romanized as Hats’avan and Atsavan; formerly, Avdalar) is a town in the Kotayk Province of Armenia.

Charent's Arch or Arch of Charents (Armenian: Չարենցի կամար) is a monument and tourist attraction erected in 1975 and dedicated to the Armenian poet Yeghishe Charents. The monument is 1500 m high and is located in the village of Voghjaberd in the Kotayk Province of Armenia.

Dzoraghbyur Training Centre, is the training ground and academy base of the Armenian football club FC Ararat Yerevan.

Dzoraghbyur (Armenian: Ձորաղբյուր) is a village in the Kotayk Province of Armenia. "Dzoraghbyur" translates roughly to English as "Canyon Fountain". It is located 10 km east of Yerevan and 35 km south of the regional centre Hrazdan. The Dzoraghbyur Training Centre of FC Ararat Yerevan is located in the village of Dzoraghbyur.

Bitlidzha (also, Bartsrashen) was a town in the Yerevan Province of Armenia; it is now in ruins.

Zovk (Armenian: Զովք), is a village in the Kotayk Province of Armenia.

The 1679 Armenia earthquake (also called Yerevan earthquake or Garni earthquake) took place on June 4 in the Yerevan region of Armenia, then part of the Safavid Iran.Numerous buildings were destroyed as a result of the earthquake. In Yerevan most notable structures were damaged. The Yerevan Fortress was destroyed, so were the following churches: Poghos-Petros, Katoghike, Zoravor and the Gethsemane Chapel.Furthermore, the nearby Kanaker village was destroyed. The classical Hellenistic Temple of Garni also collapsed. Among many churches and monasteries that were reduced to ruins were Havuts Tar, Saint Sargis Monastery of Ushi, Hovhannavank, Geghard, and Khor Virap.

Jrvezh (Armenian: Ջրվեժ), meaning "waterfall", is a major village in the Kotayk Province of Armenia, located at the eastern outskirts of the capital Yerevan. The village is 45 km south of the provincial capital Hrazdan, and 9 km from the town of Abovyan.The name of the village appeared for the first time in history during the 5th century by historian Ghazar Parpetsi. The village is home to many historical sites including the remains of 2 chapels dating back to the 7th and 13th centuries respectively. The present-day Surp Katoghike church of Jrvezh was opened in 1891. As of the 2011 census, the population of the village is 7,198.

The Battle of Garni (Georgian: გარნისის ბრძოლა, Armenian: Գառնիի ճակատամարտ) was fought in 1225 near Garni, in modern day Armenia, then part of the Kingdom of Georgia. The invading Khwarazmian Empire was led by Jalal al-Din Mangburni, its last sultan, who had been driven from his realm by the Mongol Empire and was trying to recapture lost territories. The battle ended with a Khwarezmid victory and is marked as a disastrous event in Georgian history due to betrayal. As a result, the royal court of Georgian Queen Rusudan (1223–1245) moved to Kutaisi and the country was exposed to subsequent looting during the Mongol invasions of Georgia.

The Garni Gorge is situated 23.3 kilometres (14.5 mi) east of Yerevan, Armenia, just below the village of the same name. The Garni Gorge is protected by law and listed as a natural monument. On a promontory above the gorge, the first-century AD Temple of Garni may be seen. The Garni Temple was built by King Tiridates I as a temple to the sun god Mihr (Mithra). Along the sides of the gorge are cliff walls of well-preserved basalt columns, carved out by the Goght River. This portion of the Garni Gorge is typically referred to as the "Symphony of the Stones." It is most easily reached via a road that leads left down the gorge just before reaching the temple of Garni. Another road leads to the gorge through the village, down a cobblestone road, and into the valley. Once in the valley, turning right will lead to Garni Gorge, an 11th-century medieval bridge, and the "Symphony of the Stones". Taking a left will lead along the river past a fish hatchery, up to the Khosrov Forest State Reserve, and a little further Havuts Tar Monastery. The ancient Geghard Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is also within walking distance. Partially carved into the mountain, the monastery has existed since the fourth century AD. The main cathedral was built much later, in the thirteenth century.
